ignorant of the computer

Whenever I try to put my time at the time of the computer, using the sync thing, it says that an error has occurred. Why and how can I fix? Thank you

BN

If your computer clock is far AWAY, it does not synchronize.  Try setting it manually close.  Another cause is that it cannot connect to the server you specified.  You can change this by going to the clock > set date & time > internet time > change settings > if you time.nist.gov I would choose that (in the United States) ortherwise get another just to test.

When I plan the registry defragmentation and compaction on my Asus computer and restart it to all it will do is start the process as my computer starts and then it passes all of the hives. How can I fix it. I am using windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.

    Original title: compacting registry

to activate the registry defragmentation and compaction: go to start then run, type msconfig and click on the Startup tab.

Choose Safeboot (mininimal), and then restart the computer.

The computer will restart in safe mode, just let it run through the process; If you have a regular dskchk, let this race as usual and let the computer restart, the reg defragmentation etc, should operate normally after that. Remember once the computer has restarted in safe mode and you're on the office just repeat the msconfig but uncheck the boot in the safe mode option, and then restart Windows normally.

  • P50-A-144 satellite: the option 'never' is ignored by the energy save plan?

    Windows Home Version 1607 (Build 14393.187) 10.

    Hello

all the options of setting energy save plan are set to 'never '.
"Turn off screen" and "Modus after saving", "Battery" und "AC Adapter"
But if I read a Document in Word or a Web page in Internet Explorer
After some time of inactivity with the mouse, for example, the screen will be closed
then the laptop energy saving modus.

It seems that this started probably occur after the recent Windows Update Version 1511 to 1607.
I've seen available for this model Toshiba drivers, but these are the same since the year 2015
which I have already installed after Windows 8.1 migration to Windows Version 1511 10.

    Could you please help me?.
    Thank you.

Additional information: it seems that if a user program is running (for example MS Word or Internet browser) and the computer remains on the desktop screen, the screen will be turned off and the laptop DO NOT go to energy saving modus, as expected, because the settings are set to 'never '.
This means that the parameters of energy save plan are ignored if a user program is running, and there is no user activity, for example: the user don't move the mouse during playback of a document in the MS Word program.

I turned on the computer this morning and "PRESTO!" It has been fixed! I just figured (assumed) the fairy Magic computer was coming over the magic fairy dust at night and sprinkled on the keyboard and instantly, better everything! Ridicule me.

Joking aside, this means - it has declined and is still in my system, lie dormant, so to speak? He wasn't there this morning. I honestly thought that Microsoft Security had just sent an update and just sort of 'fixed' it. I am both ignorant and naïve.

Don't tell the bad guys, or I'll be marked, "EASY!" as a target.

Should I just leave well enough, only? As in, if it's not broken, don't fix it.

  • I downloaded an update and restarted my computer, received the blue screen of death shortly after the computer restarts. Now it does not start

I don't know when the downloaded update, the computer has been restarted on September 10, 2010 to install updates. Shortlyl once the computer is restarted, I got the blue screen of death.  with the details of error like:

Stop 0 x 000000050 (0 x 000000000000000, 0xFFFFF88001DCAE4, 0xFFFFF8A00B490027, 0 x 00000000000002) do not know if the number of zeros is exactly right in one of those, but it's super frustrating.

I tried to restart my computer in repair as recommended (get blue screen of death), I tried to reboot normally, loop just restart procedures asking if I want to restart in repair mode.  I tried SafeMode (BSOD), I tried to restart with last working restart (restart loops), I tried to choose the "Computer repair" BSOD I tried a diagnosis and all past.

    Help!

    Thank you.

So yes actually hear nothing helped me.  Seems that, given that the computer is not stopped correctly and my hard drive was not recognized there starting the cycle upward or give me the BSOD.  Put it in my Ubuntu CD spare which I've had since my last PC hard drive became corrupt and force back across my hard drive.  After doing this, I was able to do a boot repair, who led for the BSOD.  Not sure how that actually fixed, lost about 10 hours of my day.  So I guess I can chalk up to Microsoft and a reminder on why I should buy Mac for now on... an update shouldn't really cause such problems.

I get that not everyone has the same PC, so it is difficult to tell if an update is bad, but he should not do this and if an update is the cause of a certain segment of consumers who are updating must be taken down for everyone, or at least the users with the configuration that is known to have problems with an update.

Problem is solved, had to go back to a previous version of good boot where I have not install updates again.  Now, I'm trying to understand who was was bad, so I can leave my computer knows to ignore.

    Nice day.

    Hi lagodasailing,

I understand that you would like to know how to find out if it is safe to install an update or not and if there is an option to uninstall or cancel the installation of this particular update when they create a mess in your computer.

First of all, I recommend you to continue the installation of any Windows Update, you are prompted to install. Windows updates are developed to close open ports, where a malicious user could get in your computer system.

If an unlikely result occurs after you install the update, you can perform system restore to return the system to its previous working state back. If it is not-so-good result is caused of the newly installed updates more than 1, it is recommended to try to install the updates one at a time to separate or to know that it really caused the problem and after that the results back here so we could help more you or give you advice.

  • explaining hibernate vs closed for the computer illiterate

A relative of mine who is computer illiterate asked why she cannot use hibernate all the time instead of shutdown down, as the computer starts much faster. She seemed to have trouble "getting" the explanation of exactly what does each of them, so I tried this explanation. Is it specific enough for someone who can barely send an email or type one letter and often needs help in web forms?

[QUOTE] At the time where you were working, you remember how at the end of the day you had to clear your desk so the janitor could clean it up? Still occasionally you would leave a project on the desk and the concierge would not be able to clean it because of stuff on him. With the help of hibernation is like leaving all your stuff on the desktop. He is allowed to do once or twice, but if you do all the time the system will get dirty and dirt will gum work. Using of closing down, it's like compensation on your desktop if the concierge can clean it up. You want to use shut down regularly to prevent the accumulation of dirt on the computer. [/ QUOTE]

It's a pretty good explanation for someone computer illiterate and I believe that voluntarily ignorant or is there a better?

Oh, and I am aware that Windows 7 is much better on does not need to be restarted as often as Windows 95, but it's always a good idea.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus: Scan of the computer does not work with Win8.1 [solved: problem with USB3 Boost]

Since I have installed 8.1 (pro), I can't use my 8600 software Pro for scanning the computer (via USB). It seems that there is no communication with the printer regarding the scanning software, but printing as usual.

Tried to use the HP printer Assistant: when I click on the button "scan a Photo Document or", I get a message "inaccessible Scanner. Also restarted the printer.

When I try to scan from Photoshop, the system first finds the printer, but it fails to connect.

Update HP says that my system is up to date.

HP Print and Scan Doctor 4.2 concludes and tells the printer on the welcome panel and seems to be able to communicate with him, up to a point.

It gives me a error 'pilot' (sorry if is not called in English - he takes over my keyboard language, which is French and says "Pilot error") and says that no communication could be created between the printer and the driver for scanning, and I have to restart the computer...

So I did and revived the software of the doctor, who gave me the same error message. This time, I clicked on 'Ignore' and let things. He ran a "Scan" Test twice and said that everything was going well or had been repaired. But strangely nothing on the printer during these 'tests '. And in the end, as he offered to do a scan test myself, I clicked on OK and I got the error message "inaccessible Scanner" again.

Then I did my scans on a USB key, as I have done a few times already, and has gone very well. But I'd be happy to have this function "Scan to computer" back. How?

Thanks in advance 23. It is resolved! See to the end.

I use McAfee (All Access - Total Protection). All green. I did some research using 'Paint', 'Windows Fax' and 'Scan' and checked all the results using McAfee: 'does detect any items that require your attention.

    I click on "Scanning troubleshooting..."

I click on 'Ignore' right now because I know now that a restart will not help, but I have already tried (see my first post).

It seems that the problems have been repaired. And if I click on 'Scan Test', it seems too good, initially...

But if I go on and click on "Scan", bye bye:

Everything is the same as the first time, as I remember.

I checked services: dependencies are OK (RPC is in the WIA Service dependencies). Both services are "Running" and "automatic". I stopped and restarted WIA. No change.

    I launched a sfc/scannow:

Before that, I changed the USB (a new one): no change.

AND THEN: I unplugged the USB cable connecting the port (USB3) standard (directly on the rear panel of the motherboard) and plugged into a PCI USB3 card. And all was well with the scan.

How to reset the Windows Update components?

    Reset.

Now that your system is generally free of malicious software (assuming you have an AntiVirus application), you've cleaned the "additional applications" that could be running and picking up your precious memory and the processor, you have authorized out of valuable and makes disk space as there are no problems with the drive itself and your Windows Update components are up-to-date and should work fine - there is another thing you pouvez wish to make:

Get and install the hardware device last drivers for your system hardware/system manufacturers support and/or download web site.

If you want, come back and let us know a bit more information on your system - particularly the brand / model of the system, you have - and maybe someone here can guide you to the place s x of law to this end.  This isn't 100% necessary - but I'd be willing to bet that you would gain some performance and features in making this part.

  • Windows XP was corrupted file & wouldn't work, so charge kit Windows advantage for Vista. Now computer is not registered. Just, I want XP back origin, but are not supplied with the computer installation CD.

If Windows has a file corrupted in C, does not work, so I loaded the {32-bit} vista advantage kit it is genuine Windows product, I don't have 25 digit code {on pkg only 22digits}. Worked and less (media player would not read DVDs {something about codecs}) for a few weeks, and then all of a sudden it started asking for validation. Now, he tells me that I have less than 20 days to validate product b4 Windows do not work {has already taken my bkgrd screen} I'd rather just go back to XP {that my laptop is designed 4, however Vista capable} & I have no idea what I did when I loaded vista {as well as partitions, fat or? file}. I have had no problems w/XP before & I do not know if some1 piggyback on my computer via a public network caused it or what. Please help me solve this problem somehow! I'm not ignorant but not very savvy computer programs either. I know the basics! Thanks =)-

    Hello RosemaryR,

1A Windows preinstalled on your computer?

    2. do you have a product key that is provided when you purchased the computer?

You will need a valid product key to activate your old copy of Windows. You will also need a disk. If Windows was preinstalled on your computer, I suggest you contact the manufacturer of your computer to help you better.

  • Application of the computer settings. Update

    Hello

After I downloaded some updates of high priority on my computer 3 other computers to my work and my computer are still blocked on the "Application of the parameters of the computer" message during Windows startup. I deleted the updates of windows I downloaded this week here and set to ignore, but the problem still happens.
What I see in the system restore on the day, that this problem has occurred is that there is a facility of the so-called "software distribution service 3.0", I searched this program in Add/Remove programs with updates are checked but can't seem to find it anywhere.
I am running windows xp SP3 and my PC is in a network domain. 3 other PC having the same problem but the other computers at work have installed updates and work very well.
    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you
    Kevin.

    Hi Kevyo,

  • When I start the computer, sometimes the icon in the taskbar indicates that it is connected to a network that is not identified. I wait a few minutes until what he says at last he is identified & seems to work very well.

    Original title: Internet wireless connection

I use a PC & a cable modem wireless to connect to the Internet.  When I start the computer, sometimes the icon in the taskbar indicates that it is connected to a network that is not identified.  I wait a few minutes until what he says at last he is identified & seems to work very well.  The only other issue I see is once in a while after it is connected, I noticed that it is to identify the network connection, but I see no problem to surf the web.  This could be a looming problem with the modem, or is it something else?  Should I consider it as my modem is still under warranty?  ARRIS / Motorola wants to charge a diagnostic fee is why I write on this forum first.

    Thank you
