IIS and OUTLOOKANYWHERE

I have a new Windows Server 2008 R2 with EXCHANGE 2010 is installed. There are 7 IIS installed to access OWA. I also just finished RCP over HTTP for OUTLOOKANYWHERE. Everything works well... so far. The changes made by RCP over HTTP have now only allowed access to my Web page, hosted on the same server HTTPS.

It took me a few days to refine and get to work properly. But you know how people are to us! I want to change the default page to be accessible through HTTP access also. My question, can I change the IIS to allow HTTP access with for my current OUTLOOKANYWHERE operation?

Please let me know what you know.

Thank you

  • Anonymous IIS and impersonation

Simple configuration. Create a virtual machine with IIS and SQL Server, and Web (ASP.NET) application. All on the same machine without hops involved.

IIS is set to anonymous authentication only (not asp.net impersonation).

The site is configured with an application pool using a Local Windows of Custom account (\SQLDataAccess).

SQL Server configured for the authentication of the window only.

Permit SQLDataAccess to SQL Server. Confirmed by connecting to the machine as \SQLDataAccess and access to SQL server through SSMS.

Now, the incoming request to IIS will be NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON (is that correct, can anyone confirm?)

I think this to be "borrowed" from \SQLDataAccess by the pool IIS application, and indeed in c# WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent (). Name returns \SQLDataAccess.

But SQL Server reports "failed to connect to the user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'. Reason: could not find a name of the connection corresponding to the provided name. »

Is it because the Application Pool can only "flow the identity of the original caller back resources on the same computer?

I also tried to set IIS configuration authenticatedUserOverride to UseWorkerProcessUser, but the results were the same.

Is it so impossible to have an anonymous site IIS uses Windows authentication behind IIS?

    Thank you for the ideas.

  • Configure IIS and FMS on the same machine?

I've been running a test server using Apache as a web server. The problem is that I have to be able to run FMS on an IIS computer, and there is a conflict on each trying to link to port 80. I read that a solution to this problem is to have 2 IP addresses, with FMS and link it to one and IIS bind to each other. This is not a requirement for Apache and FMS. Why is it a requirement for IIS and FMS? This question my living room, my lack of knowledge of the difference between the 2. But, is it possible to configure IIS or FMS so that they can share port 80 as FMS and Apache? I guess that someone can explain to me how Apache and FMS work together, and why IIS cannot?

Both devices can never listen on the same port on a single IP address.

In the case of FMS, FMS process acts as a proxy. When an HTTP request comes in on port 80, SGF forwards this request to an HTTP server listening on a different port.

If you want to use a single IP address, you could bind IIS to another port (instead of port 80) and proxy all your HTTP traffic through FMS, but which will create a lot of headaches for you and will damage the performance of the FMS.

Best solution... have separate IP addresses.

  • Configurations of Microsoft - what to do with IIS and SQL Cluster

    Hello

I have a band with 3 hosts vSphere cluster. Now I'm going to create my SQL Server and IIS servers. I setup IIS to use network load balancing, and I was thinking about using Microsoft Failover Cluster in win 2008 for my SQL servers. But after checking this doc on http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere4/r40/vsp_40_mscs.pdf , it seems clear that my setup is not supported. I have an iSCSI SAN and I my hosts in the cluster. So what is the best way to consolidate my SQL servers in vmware?

    Thank you

Interesting, you raise a good point.

I never thought about the downtime of the VM alone in a VMware HA scenario vs two separate MV in a MSCS scenario.

Obviously in such a perspective FT would be of no use as the second hidden VM obscures what the master did... If you are servicing the master that the slave gets thus maintained at the same point in time.

If 2 hours is not enough to deal with a single virtual machine, I think your only choice is to stay on a physical cluster. I have limitations in the new pdf vSphere that you posted above and they are even worse than before. I don't see how one could ever use MSCS on vSphere if they respect these limits.

  • SEO - error page custom IIS and rewrite Url CF question

I have a strange question for a familiar person to SEO.

Here's what I did. I have a Web site configuration that has only a single physical page, index.cfm. All links on this site are set up to be SEO friendly. Something like: domainname.com/my-coldfusion-question. I set up a custom 404 error page in IIS to include a coldfusion page called masterRewrite. When the page is called, it analyzes the url, queries the database and built a page that refers to the browser. So, basically ANY link that you can go on the site always returns a page with the content and the browser is never a "Page not found" error

So here's my question: when google spiders my page t - he never knew that a 404 error? I've tested a bit myself using cfhttp to go to a page that does not exist on the site and looked at the headers. The returned response header shows identical to a page that actually exists. StatusCode is "200 OK." So my question is, Google sees this even as a page that actually does not exist? Initially I thought that he made, but have noticed my page rank is 0/10 and I was wondering if, somehow, Google knows the difference despite the fact that the statuscode indicates that 200.

Any idea would be great, thanks.

    Michael

    These Mike Chabot houseoffusion says:
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------

If the status code is 200, then Google does not know what a 404 error. I think that they officially frown on this technique. What Google is a page they know there is no query, and it they don't get a 404 error they might punish your ranking. They also punish your rankings to have pages that are very similar to the content in the different URLS. I have a question the validity of the use of the metric rankings as a measure of the success page.

  • Configuration of IIS and CF

I just installed CFMX 6.1 on my CP local windows machine. IIS was installed prior to installation of the CF.
The Assistant asked me if I wanted to use IIS as a Web server, and I said yes.

Everything that looks like it installed well. The CFIDE is located in C:\inetpub\wwwroot that seems correct to me.

However, when I try to access the administration of http://localhost:8500 / and with 127.0.01 I get a page not found.
    Am I missing something?
I could not pull up of htm pages either, so it may be an IIS problem.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try to remove and add IIS connector using Configuration tool (start-> programs->-> ColdFusion MX Macromedia) Web server. Reconfiguration of sometimes it helps. Also if you configure IIS then you must access it by using http://localhost/ or http://127.0.0.1 without any additional ports. Port 8500 is used when installing CF with the built-in web server option.

  • How will I know if I have KB926044 on my XP with SP3 & IIS installed and all updates installed

The above application requires that I have the Windows Automated Installation Kit (Windows AIK) installed and that KB926044 is installed on my XP with SP3 & IIS installed and all updates installed.

Is there a way I can check that KB926044 is installed?

    Hello

I want you to know that the Services IIS and IIS can be installed only on Windows XP Professional. Microsoft Windows XP Home edition users are not given the ability to add IIS in the typical method. Using the method "Add / Remove Programs' in the control panel would be nice, but only the XP Professional edition allows.

View a list of updates installed on your computer, follow these steps.

    Open Add or remove programs.

At the top right, select the Show updates check box. All installed updates appear at the top of your list of programs.

Notes: To open Add / Remove Programs, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click on Add / Remove Programs.

You can also view your history for installation on the Windows Update Web site (http://www.microsoft.com).

You can contact Eset customer service here: http://go.eset.com/us/support/contact/s1/#

  • W2K8 Server Core, IIS 7, CF 8.0.1 and wsconfig

We have CF 8.0.1 (x 64) installed on W2K8 Server Core and IIS 7 (x 64). (See the section of code for IIS 7 install command and CF installer.properties silent.) Remember, 2008 Core is not a GUI, it's all command line.

We can see on page default IIS on port 80 and CF Admin on port 8500.

When we run the web server Configurator (wsconfig), it throws a Java error on "side-by-side configuration.

Adobe support initially claimed installation was 32-bit until they have traveled 2 (one for stand-alone and one for jrun), installs before they were convinced that it is 64-bit.

Adobe support is currently (I hope) is studying why wsconfig throws a Java error when you try to configure IIS 7 for a connection to CF 8.0.1. Adobe support suggested that finish us the configuration manually and we made to the documentation:

    1) http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/faq/
    2) http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb402572
    3) http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/7/htmldocs/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?cont ext = ColdFusion_Documentation & file = 00001755.htm
    4) http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_19575 & sliceId = 2
    5) http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_19575
    6) http://www.communitymx.com/content/article.cfm?page=7 & cid = 224AA

What we need to do to complete the config is:
    (1) configure IIS for CF (jrunwin32.dll and jrun_iis6_wildcard.dll) Web Service Extensions
    (2) configure the mappings of file (* .cfm, * .cfc, etc,)

Definition of 'index.cfm' as a default document, on a global scale is simple:
    appcmd.exe set config / section: defaultDocument / enabled: true / + files. [value = 'index.cfm']

But the other 2 steps are more complex. The commands that we use are along the lines of:
REM add web service extension (safety first, then the filter isapi)
    appcmd.exe set config /section:system.webServer/security/isapiCgiRestriction /+"[path='%systemdrive%\Coldfusion8\runtime\lib\wsconfig\jrun_iis6.dll',allowed='True',gr oupId ="Macromedia", description ="Server Macromedia Extensions"]"
    appcmd.exe set config /section:system.webServer/security/isapiCgiRestriction /+"[path='%systemdrive%\Coldfusion8\runtime\lib\wsconfig\1\jrun_iis6_wildcard.dll',allowe d = 'True', groupId is"Macromedia", description ="Server Macromedia Extensions"]"

    appcmd.exe set config /section:system.webServer/isapiFilters / + "[name = 'Macromedia Server Extensions',path='%systemdrive%\Coldfusion8\runtime\lib\wsconfig\jrun_iis6.dll']" "
REM the following needs a unique name
    REM appcmd.exe set config /section:system.webServer/isapiFilters / + "[name ='Macromedia Server Extensions',path='%systemdrive%\Coldfusion8\runtime\lib\wsconfig\1\jrun_iis6_wildcard.dll ']" "

REM add the mapping files (a path to a dll, that is needed?)
    appcmd.exe set config /section:system.webServer/handlers / + [name = 'ISAPI-cfm', path ='* .cfm ', verb =' * ', modules = 'IsapiFilterModule', resourceType = 'A file' requireAccess = "Run"]

Any help in getting to the configured IIS 7 for CF would be greatly appreciated.

  • Activation of IIS for Windows 8

I need enable IIS for Windows 8.

When I go to add Windows components, I can select these options, but then he goes and looking forever

Windows 8 comes with a new version of IIS, and is a feature of the option.

To install it, press Windows + R combination to bring up a run dialog box and then type appwiz.cpl and press ENTER key.
This will open the program and part of the features of the Control Panel, on the left side click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
Now, you must click the Internet Information Services check box. (check the box below the Internet Explorer 10). After that, click OK.

In addition, I have found a good tutorial MS how to install and configure/enable the ISP (IIS, Internet Information Services)

  • HPDM: HPDM replace self signed SSL certificates for server HDPM and master repository

I am trying to replace the automatically generated self-signed certificates (issued to DM) issued by DM server HDPM and master repository.  I'm NOT arbitration FTPS, HTTPS embedded HPDM or CERT Thin Client Agent server.

I already have CERT for the installation of our own internal domain CA for FTPS in IIS and the built-in Apache HTTPS server.  These work properly and pass tests of repository for both protocols.  I also have questions for Thin Clients of our internal CA very well.

I am interested in the HPDM real server cert and cert master repository. These are generated automatically when the two services start.  They use a very weak MD5 hash and key RSA 1024.  I can't find any documentation around that, with the exception of troubleshooting, in which you can remove these certificates restart services and they will be regenerated.

    Here are the paths certs\key
HPDM % install Path%\MasterRepositoryController\Controller.crt (Cert repository)

HPDM % install Path%\MasterRepositoryController\Controller.key (repository key)

HPDM % install Path%\MasterRepositoryController\Client.crt (HPDM Server Cert)

HPDM % install Path%\Server\Bin\hpdmskey.keystore (Both HPDM server and repository Certs and keys) (not sure what format it is in.  It is not PEM and P12 ok I can say)

There are also some HPDM % install Path%\Server\bin\hpdmcert.key.  Don't know what it is.  It's the key to the server HPDM but deleting it does nothing and it is never re auto generated in one of my tests.

I am able to replace the Controller.crt and keys with my own files CA internal those emitted very well.  The service started and no errors occur.  However if I replace the Client.cert (HPDM Server Cert) with my own service will start but there are Socket SSL errors in repository logs and the HPDM server could not connect to the master repository. I have no idea where the key file is supposed to be for HPDM Server Cert.

Can anyone help with this?  I can't find the configuration files for the service to generate their own certificates.  If I did I would try at least to change the config to do not use MD5.

    Hello

These certiricates between HPDM server and MRC are not designed for customizable. Please submite one scenario if you have concerns of security on it.

    Just for info:

hpdmcert. Key is for communication between the server HPDM and gateway HPDM

hpdmskey.keystore is for communication between the server HPDM and MRC

server_keystore is for the commhucation between HPDM server and the Console HPDM

Maybe you can make a small adjustment which, during the process of probe OS on the IIS service. And if present then no matter what its current status (running or stopped) skip/adjust use of routines of Skype port 80 and all other resources shared with IIS.

Yes I did and appreciate your help, but let's face it this type of 'options' should be a little smarter on Microsoft side. If the deselection of using port 80/443 option (I guess only since I haven't restarted Skype yet) so here's your clever way configuration of Skype in the first place - let the Installer "uncheck" these options which could lead to a possible conflict.

Please don't get me wrong, I totally accept your recommendation as an acceptable solution, but I'd like to Skype developers have thought about this case since I can't hardly believe they only run IIS Express and have full IIS installed on their machines :-)
