  I have a Nokia 6700, which took place from Series 40 of their own operating system and had a feature that would lock the keypad after a user determined late, such a feature exists within the BB OS, and if so how to activate it?

  I only ask because I already updated my phone in a pocket of my bag back to work without blocking the keyboard that I forgot to take.

  The keyboard light is not on.  I tried turning on via the control of HP OMEN and when I do it just flashes once and then is off again.  It was going fine until I updated the BIOS now.

  It's an easy fix.  Hold down the "fn" key and press "f5".  This allows to switch the illumination of the keyboard on and outside.

Please tell me there is a way to get this back... just bought this BB in June and a first I possessed and it is difficult to do without...   Looks like you have updated to the point where the locking function changed. In older versions, you had an icon on the screen. In the latest versions, you use the power on top of the BB button do a keyboard lock. To get the icon back, you must activate a device password... then you will have an icon for Active password lock. How it works now, and the only way to change this is go back to a previous version, when the change was made.

  If it's just a locking of the keyboard (no password) then then insert the device for extraction of a sleeve or case with the sleep magnet will unlock the device. If you don't have a case, you can pass a powerful magnet on the upper middle part of the keyboard/trackpad area and get the same result.

  If the keyboard has worked before and it is just stopped working, the prescription is a battery pop reboot. With the machine running, remove the rear cover and remove the battery. Wait about a minute and insert the battery and replace the cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long long long restart the process (perhaps as long as 10 minutes). See if things return to normal. Like all computing devices, a restart may be a healthy thing.
