iMac does not start!

I have an iMac 2006 model number of 20 inch A1174 (EMS 2105). for some reason, it won't start. He had the apple with the loading circle logo and it would remain only to it. every day ive been looking for ways to find a solution. crazy part is that I don't have an apple based keyboard nor mouse. Im running on a keyboard and a mouse in windows. It's like some buttons work, some don't. Ive tried to do the shift etc. to start recovery, but for some reason these keys do not work to use the r command. so I came to the conclusion, something was wrong with the hard drive. I erased it and reformatted it. I popped it back in and I used the ALT key during the startup and original OS X CD to install back to the cabinet and a second, everything seemed to work, installation and all. then I got a code error "Can't find the driver for this ACPI platform please restart your computer, etc." now I'm back to square one and don't know what to do and I really need this problem.

If your original DVD still works:

Erase disc before Snow Leopard OS X

  1. Boot from your OS X installation disc. After the installer loads, choose your language and click on the continue button.  When the menu bar appears select utility drive in the Utilities menu.
  2. After loading disk utility, select the volume that you want to format in the list to one side. Click Delete in the main window of disk utility.
  3. Set the type of Mac OS extended (journaled) format. Click the clear button and wait until the process is complete.
  4. After completed exit the utility disk and return to the installer.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen to install OS X.

Since the 10.11.6 patch my IMac does not start with my hub plugged.

    Everyone

I assume you mean a USB hub? What does do when it's plugged in? It starts successfully when the hub is not plugged? If so, I would say that something is wrong with the hub or there is a problem with the port it is plugged or something plugged into the hub.

Try to plug it into a different USB port on your Mac.

Two iMacs does not start after the 10.11.4 update.  Progress bar starts moving and then text appears on the black screen saying unexpected sigkill to launchd.  He then gets stuck in a loop trying to start.  Tried to reset the SMC and LANDAU.  Without success.  Started in recovery mode and ran disk utility.  Discs said OK.  Chose to reinstall OS X from the list of options in the recovery mode (assuming it would be 10.11.4).)  Installation is finished but still once does not start.  Reinstalled on 10.11.0 successfully from a USB key and downloaded the 10.11.4 combo updater.  Installation seems to work, but once again, the macs will not start.  Same 'unexpected launchd sigkill' error.  A mac is now back working properly with 10.11.3 the other will be shortly.  Is there a problem with the accession?  Our COMPUTER support use Munki to get updates from one day to the next.  Fortunately, we were able to stop it before the other 20 or if Mac had the same problem.

  • 2006 iMac does not start. Help restore

I have an Intel iMac core duo with iSight and built in disk drive around 2006. It does not start.

When I turn on, it sounds and passes to the gray screen with the apple logo and a progress bar or a spinning wheel. Then he stops down. I tried all the troubleshooting and nothing works. In addition, I don't have the disks that originally from cane with the computer. So I can't make a diagnosis of the hardware. (Unless someone is willing to sell me their album hehe).

This problem happened to me in 2012. I had a friend restore the computer to empty the hard disk, then boot from the snow leopard disc and reinstall everything. It worked like a charm.

In 2013, a disc is stuck in the drive. I have troubleshooted only and nothing has worked. I assumed that the drive is dead and has continued to use the computer without worrying about that. Then, in 2014 someday when I restarted, the disk jumped! I never tested the drive then because I was afraid of another stuck disc. Then, the computer is dead again as he did in 2012.

SO I know what to do. I need to wipe the hard drive and start over. However, I didn't have a drive. So, I bought one on eBay. When I insert it, the computer enters the disc. I can hear the mechanics works. It ejects even properly. However, I can't boot from the drive. When I start the iMac by pressing option, I don't see the Macintosh, no disk drive.

My hard drive died? If so, a USB dvd drive would work? If USB does not work, how can I replace the drive?

Is it possible that I bought a drive bad or fake software and that's why I can't boot from the dad?

    Please help in some way!

  • iMac does not start after the update of the Sierra...

Don't know what to do. Sierra, just updated and now my system hangs during startup and turns off.

Anyone else seen this? No idea what I can do?

Try a safe boot. Otherwise, you might to reinstall macOS.

    ----------

Stop your Mac. Use the power button if you wish. Now start with the SHIFT key is pressed. This will start in Safe Mode, with all extensions turned off. Safe mode is slow to start, so give it time, it checks a lot of tasks. If it works fine in Safe Mode, restart normally. If it works now, you are finished.

If the problem comes back after a reboot, you may have an extension conflict. Disable all extensions via system preferences. To isolate which extension is at fault, turn on an extension at the same time, restart in the meantime, until you find bad.

I solved the problem! I googled a lot and I found that it was the GPU was down. Well, I searched and found the solution...

I think that apple don't want to hear or see. But if you are a little technical or handyman, Cook your GPU in the oven. Yes, bake your GPU in the oven! See the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vPM41ZmLos

I warn you all, be very patient and very carefully, or you can destroy your beloved mac. The case may go to an apple store workshop.

Just for confirmation, enable the account of Root user and you connect to same and try to launch Adobe Creative Cloud application and check. We can turn off later.

Let us know if you are able to launch the app or not.

    Root user account activation step:

OS X Mavericks: enable and disable the root user

(Applies to Yosemite / El Capitan way)

    How to connect as root

    1. If you are connected, choose quit from the Apple menu.
    2. If you connect from a list of names of users with pictures, click on the other.
    3. In the name field, type: root
    4. In the password field, type the password that you set when you configure the root user account.

Once you connect to the Root account try to launch creative cloud application and check.

  • iMac A1311 does not start, due to no HARD drive

I have an iMac A1311 that has no HARD drive, so I have a disk HARD of Windows and OS X 10.6.1 discs. Can I use my PC to format the HARD drive and install OS X on the HDD using my PC? iMac will not start cuz no HARD drive

Unfortunately, you can not. You will need to install a hard drive in the Mac - you cannot install or run Mac OS on a Windows machine (or anything other than Mac hardware).

In addition, if this one is to end 2011, most likely cannot install 10.6.x as it came without doubt with 10.7 Lion (depending on when it was released or purchased). Mac can not boot from an OS older than what they came with. If it came with Lion, you can install a HDD and then use recovery to format and install the original above operating system (if you downloaded/purchased previously with your Apple ID).

  • Windows 7 32 bit does not start after the installation of the need for assistance

I have an iMac 21.5 inches (mid-2011) with 8 GB Ram, 2 TB SSHD, new HL-DT-ST DVD - RW GA32N and tried to install windows 7 (32 bit) on using Boot Camp Assistant.

I already downloaded and copied software 4.0.4033.zip Boot Camp here-> https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1630?locale=en_US for my 16 GB Pen Drive MS-DOS (FAT32)

The installation was successful, and windows 7 loads just fine 1st time, I created UserID and password, settings etc... using the apple keyboard then installed the drivers from apple on this issue of my 16 GB USB key. Seems my Magic Mouse works but my keyboard is not detected

Then I tried to restart so the changes would come into force, and since then my Windows will not start or run Windows 7

Now if I start my iMac hold down the Option key, I get Macintosh HDD, windows, recovery 10.11.4 and DVD. If I select Windows or Windows DVD it starts Booting then black screen followed by this Message on the screen «Press a key to boot from the CD or DVD...» »

If I press any button it starts booting from DVD and gives me the option to install Windows and if I do not press a button some then nothing happens

Windows does not start a BootCamp HDD and I'm left with no option but to press on the button / stop to stop iMac.

Fortunately my El Capitan works well, but my Windows will not start. I tried 2 times install windows 7 32 Bit on my BootCamp HDD.

So any help, I do not understand what am I'm doing wrong, I would be really grateful if someone who knew bootcamp can guide me so that I can run Windows OSX on my iMac.

    Thanks in advance.

Remove the DVD, boot in OSX and after the release of the following Terminal commands?

    diskutil list

    Cs diskutil list

    sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0

    sudo fdisk/dev/disk0

The "sudo" commands will prompt to enter your password, and there do not appear to come back. You can also see caution against improper use 'sudo' and the potential loss of data due to an "abuse" of the order.
