iMac stayed 12 days

This sounds like a silly question. I've been away from home for 12 days and I came back and realized that I never shut down my computer. Its brand new and I don't want something bad to happen to her... For that your stay on this long, it can damage the computer? I did close it and let it sit for awhile in case where.

N ° leaving on will not damage it. The only real risk is the damage that could be done by a current peak power.

  • iMac crashing every day, why?

Quite frustrated as to why my iMac (early 2009) crashes all day, sometimes twice a day. Here are the technical details:

    Using OS X vs 10.8.5

Processor - 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 duo

    Memory - 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 512 MB

I read that the upgrade of the OS would be useful, but I use Adobe PS CS5 daily and can't afford to risk having problems help

This software. I can't afford (financially) to buy a new computer at the moment and would prefer not to use cloud software.

In addition, bearing in mind that it might be a problem of memory, when I use PS or Firefox, I try not to use both

at the same time, but even that is not serious. And it seems to happen when you use the program, not one or the other.

Maybe I should stop using Firefox for a while and go to Safari? Maybe this would help?

  • Is not harmful for your iPhone to stay all day plugged?

I recently bought the Apple Smart box, and after a week of use, I was wondering if is not bad for your phone or even for the internal battery, in charge of all day or be connected every time?

I know that all the products Apple has a guarantee of flawless quality and the Holster is designed by Apple for the iPhone, but I've heard tell that some people even had trouble with the lightning connector.

    Thank you

Depending on how the new iPhone you have, it stops to load in full and only run on wired power until unplugged. So in addition to the normal battery use wear, leave it plugged should not harm him.

    Good luck

  • IMac stay connected to the printer

I bought a HP Photosmart C310 Wi - Fi.  I got it all working with a small defect.  The IMac will print to him once and then the next time show printer as "offline".  The two PC see it very well all the time.  If I turn printer off and on again, Imac prints anything in Quebec, then reads ready until you want to print again.  He then tries to locate the printer and then comes with offline.  IMac reads and remains connected to the router wireless internet access.  Also, I am new to the Mac world, am looking for solutions.  Someone told me it?

    I did the reset.

I found my problem.  I guess I thought that given that the computer had located the printer she had 'found' all the right settings.  In a way trail and error, I found that I had to change the Protocol when adding the printer.  I had not noticed the drop-down date menu button (go figure).  Changed to "HP Jetdirect - socket.  Default value is 'Line Printer Daemon - LPD'.

Thank you for your time and your suggestions.

  • iMac became unstable, crashing Finder

    Hello

Recently had some problems with my iMac. It became slow with the rotation appearing beach ball often any application that I use. Finder also broke down several times. Sometimes all the icons disappear from the desktop and it freezes. A few times, the Office was completely black. I always force a hard restart and restart my iMac.

I did the Apple Hardware Test and it detected no downside. I ran the EtreCheck software and it reported problems with the hard drive. I have included below the full text of the report. When I look at my system logs, I've also seen a few entries like this:

    kernel [0]: CoreStorageGroup::completeIORequest - error 0xe00002ca detected LVG 'Macintosh HD' (B7659A0D-E01C-41C2-9BA5-72E857DBEDC7), pv 26D6041E-D475-46B7-B45F-050577BE42DA, near LV byte offset = 360479416320.

    kernel [0]: disk2: i/o error.

It is the failure of hard drive, which is why the crash and slowness that happens? Curiously, all this started after Apple connected to my iMac Support two days ago to help me with a different problem with my iTunes account. I had to download a program and run it so that they could see my screen. I'm sure it's a coincidence, but always a little strange that these problems began to occur shortly after.

What should I do? Do I need to have the hard drive replaced?

    Thank you

  • New retina iMac heats.

So I just upgraded my MBP to the top of the line 27 inch iMac Retina. In addition to a few minor problems, something that I noticed is the fan noise and heat from the iMac. Of the main reasons that I upgraded was because my MBP would burn my lap (or office) after about 3 minutes and do summer doing nothing more to boot the system. Essentially, the iMac was good. Now have a desktop computer, I decided to try to get a few games on my new computer. I downloaded Steam and booted up Smite. Subject to halfway through a football game, the fan is spent in speed and was clearly audible even on game noise, and when I felt the back of the computer (just below where the stand connects), I noticed that the area around the rear vent has been very warm to the touch. I know that Mac are not necessarily built for the games, but I thought maxing out the graphics processor when I bought the computer don't give me no problem playing a game such as Smite. (Admittedly, my knowledge of specifications and technical stuff is practically zero, so it was just me assuming that.) Should I worry about the computer being hot like this? The computer is less than a week, and I don't want to jeopardise his longevity by burning upwards. If there are ideas about how to prevent overheating without turning to a third party software, that would be great. I just want to know if the computer will be fine this treatment on a regular basis or if I should look back to another computer. Thank you!

Note: even outside of the game, it is always moderately hot in this area of the computer. Nothing too hot to the touch, but still seems to us excessive as not really using any juice on all programs or substantive functions.

First do a search on the web and install a controller of temperature on your new iMac.

I don't know what's available for OS X El Capitan.

For the time, anything more than 70 degrees C (160 degrees Fahrenheit or greater) is bad.

I always use a control software of fans for my older iMacs 2009 and 2010.

Again, do a web search for a software compatible with OS X El Cap control fans.

Guard SMC fan control always the fans run all the time on my older iMac.

I have the RPM value (between1500-1700 RPM) kind of feeding my iMac and the GPU diode (these are the hottest components of equipment running in an iMac) stay, more or less, in the range of 45-50 degrees C. This brings time and my hard drive CPU below 40 degrees C (less than 100 degrees Fahrenheit).

The key is to not to run the internal fans at a speed that transforms them by sucking dust vacuums.

    iMacs heat!

    VERY HOT!

Apple is too fixed on chassis and quiet computer operation more thin and thinner than on the question of if rather excessive internal heat builds up inside any computer Mac is sufficient to cause the early, premature component failures.

Heat is the ENEMY of all electronic component small hardware!

I like the idea of my iMac slow roasting its internal components, AT ALL!

iMacs is WAY TOO hot for my comfort and too hot to suspected is not that many component failures hardware iMac maybe heat associated with. Premature failure especially in the optical drive, internal hard drive AND GPU early or logic board failures.

In addition to the implementation of internal fans control software,

Go out and buy like a small desk fan (something like Vornado fans) and place it in the back near the area that gets the hottest.

That's what I did and it allows for my iMac run more fees.

You will not have a silent computer longer, but your iMac will certainly run cooler and, perhaps, to extend its longevity.

    Good luck!

  • Mid 2007 iMac - problem with install Clean El Capitan

I have a (very) old mid 2007 iMac that I tried to do a clean install of El Capitan to a USB flash drive.

I used the following instructions to create a bootable USB El Capitan:

    http://Mashable.com/2015/10/01/clean-install-OS-x-El-Capitan/#5K.kLrHcpEq3

The USB boot media creation went through without any problems. However, when I try to start the iMac from the drive flash, iMac stays on the screen of the Apple logo for a few minutes and then restarts.

The iMac was initially Mavericks recovery utility is restarted after I erased the hard drive. To avoid any possible problems with the installer of El Capitan, I used an older DVD of Snow Leopard to remove the Mavericks recovery from disk. The drive is now without an operating system or recovery utilities.

I suspect a problem with the hardware with the hard drive or flash drive that I use. The hard drive has been erased with a single pass of zeros using disk utility. The flash drive, I regularly use as disk bootable for PC.

My only other option at this point is to install Snow Leopard, install upgrade to El Capitan, and then use the recovery of El Capitan to do a cleaning.

I was wondering if anyone else encountered this problem and has a solution.

    Thank you.

    Just to update.

I decided to take the long road with this to install El Capitan on this iMac.

Here are the steps I took to install OS x:

    • Wipe all existing partitions on the hard disk, including my former Mavericks recovery partition.
    • Installed Snow Leopard from the installation DVD. Updated Snow Leopard 10.6.8
    • A ran Installer El Capitan
    • Started in the El Capitan recovery utility. I have reset (formatted) the reader.
    • Re-installed El Capitan.

I could not only solve problems with my key USB install media. It wasn't a complete disaster since I already had existing media that I could use for my iMac back on its feet. My mistake was wipe my existing facility for the Mavericks before check my USB as bootable. Installation took much longer than I anticipated for this reason.

So, in conclusion, do a clean install on this model iMac is possible, but I highly recommend checking any bootable media before you delete your existing installation of Mac OS. The best route (and easier) is upgrading the OS.

I think I have a similar problem with the thread below:

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/780768?TSTART=0

Just bought my iMac, the old day 1, Core i3 so probably 64-bit, however already switched to 32-bit safari.

Installer downloaded FP 10.1 for Mac 10.6.x, installed, does not work:

    • When visiting sites that require Flash player, makes me "download flash player.
    • When you visit Adobe trouble shoot site, where it shows the version of the flash game, it displays 'content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player.
    • I.e.HD/library/internet plug-ins/flash player Uninstaller works can be deleted by the uninstaller

What is a similar case with PC users? If Yes, could someone from Adobe please provide a solution as soon as POSSIBLE?

    Thank you.

Hi, well do not have the Shockwave Flash Plugin is the problem and I think that's the problem with Ron too. The Flash Player files can be installed, but the plugin is missing. Why it is that I don't know, it is installed with the installation of the PS program.

I asked Ron to test also. When you have tested, there a link or a message after you informing him that he was missing the plugin click on Install, it?

If Yes, go back and click on it.

Give me a few minutes looking for a couple of files that I have on Mac. We used to have a person who helped on the thread of Mac, but is no longer so I try :-)

  • Difficulty to El Capitan stuck when connecting

Last month I upgraded 10.11.1 and could no longer connect my system.  I would like to enter my password correctly and then the cursor would change roulette spins and just stay there forever.  The only way out was a power off reboot.  Later, I found that when he was in this State, I was able to SSH in from another machine, and the system log revealed that/usr/libexec/lsd (the demon Services launch) was crashing repeatedly.  I searched these forums and others and found a lot of ideas, and none helped.

No problem, however, I've got hourly backups time machine, right?  Well, no.  Apparently El Capitan did not have hourly backups so my most recent backup performed for some time in October, which was a month at the time.  Not good.

Fortunately, I had a former boot disk that I put in an external enclosure and was able to start to experiment.  The drive that I normally starts since was well - checks and repair disk permissions and everything that everything came back good, and I could read and write files in there very well.

After much experimentation and frustration, I was on the point of abandon and add another drive for a clean install and start moving more - a process that I * really * hate to do.  But one last Web search and hopefully kicked my last set.

To do this, you'll need to be in a recovery, or ssh console in the machine or otherwise somehow to get to a command prompt boot from an external drive.  Once you're there, follow these steps:

    find/private/var/folders / | grep com.apple.LaunchServices | grep csstore

Note that if you boot from an external drive, you must run this command on the boot disk you are trying to fix.  Just add the/Volumes/Whatever_Your_Boot_Drive_is the path, as follows:

    find/Volumes/YourBootDriveHere/private/var/folders / | grep com.apple.LaunchServices | grep csstore

Who will find the database cache that uses Launch Services.  They have long, random searching for names that end with csstor.  Note each illustrates file, then delete them, by a command like this (obviously using some paths command above found instead of this example):

    RM /private/var/folders/cd/someLongRandomNameHere/someFolderNumberHere/com.apple.L aunchService - whatever.csstore

If you are more careful, you can rename rather than delete them, so you can put back them if necessary.  Which would look like this:

    MV /full/path/like/shown/above/to/whatever.cssstore /full/path/like/shown/above/to/whatever.csstore.backup

After you delete or rename these files, restart your Mac.  You should now be able to connect.  Or at least it's finally, what worked for me.  The connection has taken longer that normal - a few minutes - to regenerate these files, but the office finally appeared, and now I'm back to running on my normal boot drive.

    Hope this helps someone.
