IMovie deleted

I deleted iMovie on my macbook air (2015). I have no os disk or can I download it from the app store without having to pay for it. Please advise...

If you are the original owner of the macbook air that you should be able to go to the App Store acquires tab and re - download iMovie FRO free, provided that you are logged in using the same Apple ID.  If you are not the original owner, you will need to buy in order to associate it with your Apple ID.

IMovie deleted to free up space for more than a year. How can I get that back? Obviously a backup or Time Machine is not an option, nor I have any CD. My mac doesn't even have driver CD

The only place where you can download iMovie is via the App Store.

The new version it will cost money. Look under the purchases tab for the items you purchased.

BTW, you're in the wrong forum.

Apps for Mac cannot run on iOS devices.

I'll ask the moderator to move your message.

    Have you tried

The App Store app > updates > purchase > here?

Note: You must have the Internet Wi - Fi connection to download (you can not use the cell data).

  • What are video formats can use imovie 10.1?

    Running iMovie on OS X on a MacBook Pro11, 1 10.11.3 10.1.1. iPhone 5 c on iOS 9.2.1.

If I take a video on the iPhone, and transfer the file to the Mac, the answer is "iMovie does not open the files to" QuickTime movie "

If I try to open a video file .m4v to iMovie, the answer is "iMovie can't open files in format" Apple MPEG-4 movie.

Files (and many of them like them) play very well in FCPX (I know, I know), QuickTime player and a dozen other applications.

    including Mail.app.

I tried the iMovie deletion (and associated files) and installing fresh from the App Store.

Seems more than a little pathological.

OK, progress just poking randomly, apparently.

It appears that if you create an empty project, the files in question suddenly appear to be usable, and iMovie fortunately allows you to import media.

    Answering this question, it seems.

  • I DELETED VIDEOS FROM PHOTO LIBRARY AND THEY REMOVED OFF THE COAST OF IMOVIE!

So I was about to export a video to my iphone out of storage ram. So I decided to remove the videos from the library until I discovered, it removes off imovie! I didn't know that! Like imovie takes lots of storage. I deleted the videos of recently deleted, so now they are gone!

Is it possible to restore them?

And if you're advising me to download something, no malware or viruses please.

If you have enabled iCloud photo library, that's how he wanted to work. iCPL synchronizes all changes and actions, including deletions, across all your devices and computers.

The only way for you to restore these files is from a backup, preferably on your computer.

  • MacBook air IMovie accidentally deleted

    Hello world

So, I've recently had to factory reset my Macbook air and when I reinstalled the software and everything configured back that I realized that my IMovie has been deleted for some reason any. I checked the purchases tab in the app store and it's not here. I really don't want to spend $14.99 on a soft which originally came with my computer. If someone could help me find a way to reinstall IMovie for free would be great.

  • Cannot delete iMovie projects

    Hello

I can't delete projects iMovie on my Mac and it's really bugging me, because I could do with the extra space.

I use iMovie 10.1.2 on macOS Sierra (I'm a beta tester).

    Thank you

    Hey, Johny,

Many users have reported the problem of not being able to delete projects on El Capitan.  (Do not know Sierra.)  No overall solution has yet made, although several people have reported that a procedure or another has worked for them.   I heard that this is a bug that apple is working on, but it's anecdotal.

You can try to remove the support of the project first and then try to delete it.  That has worked for some.

A successful for some other solution is to create a new library, move the project of the new library and then try to delete from there - or, if it does not, remove the new library with the project inside.

Be sure that you follow the normal procedure for the removal of the projects.  In other words, open the project tree, move your cursor over the project, select the small circle that appears to the right of the title and then select project to delete in the menu dropdown.

    Hope this helps,

    -Rich

  • How can I recover an iMovie video after the accidental deletion of iMovie?

    Hi all

I got a file from an old iPhone on my iMovie app and then accidentally deleted the application itself. How can I get the video?

He is not on any backup so I'll need to find it on my Mac.

    Thank you

The file itself should always be on the hard disk.

If you know the name of the file, try to use Spotlight to find it.

Click the magnifying glass icon top right of your screen type the file name.

The basics of the Mac: Spotlight helps you find what you are looking for

If you can't find this file name, try a format iMovie such as DV, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, MOV and M4V

  • 10.1.2 iMovie crashes while editing. Failed attempts to re - open. Open with the option key down key allows you to delete the preferences but contains a relative error incompatible graphics card will then appear.  With the help of El Capitan

iMovie 10.1.2 falls down during editing of a film, usually by doing something like adding a title or a transition.  Failed attempts to restart.  Try to reboot with the option key + command allow you to remove preferences.  Then either receive an error indicating that the graphics card is incompatible or the application block requiring a force quite.  Restart or stop the iMac translates the suspended system requiring a manual stop holding down the Start button.  Restart in Safe Mode and then the normal startup will allow iMovie to load.  But after a few minutes of work with the program, it crashes and scenario again.  I use El Capitan 10.5.11 on an iMac of 2013.  I deleted the iMovie app and reloaded it, no change.  Someone has an idea for a fix?

What are the specifications of your clips you want to change? Try to create a new user and see if FCPX is behaving.

  • Cannot delete old projects or create a new iMovie 10.1.2

I made about 30 films in iMovie and deleted the first space of 10 or longer to clear some. Now when I try to delete the 'old', nothing happens, no message or anything. And the same thing when I try to start a new project. Someone knows how to solve? I tried to remove and reinstall but that doesn't seem to work, and I have about 50gig of free space. Help, please!

You are to open the view project and deleted from there? Are these old books made in iMovie 10 or upgraded to run in iMovie 10? One thing to try is to open iMovie, hold down the command and option keys and the removal of preferences.

  • How can I prevent imovie 10 to delete clips from my camera when importing?

I just noticed that when I import my video into iMovie 10 clips get deleted from my camera. I don't want to do. How do you prevent iMovie to do this?

    I can't find anywhere preferences.

Look in the iMovie > file > import media... window.  Your imported clips may be hidden in iMovie rather than actually removed from your device:

Uncheck the box if necessary.  If the files reappear to iMovie clips from your camera, your camera should be OK.

  • Cannot delete projects in iMovie 10

Hello. I can't delete iMovie 10 projects. In the form of projects, I click on the small circular button with three points and choose Delete Project, but nothing happens. Anyone know why I can't delete a project? How to operate?

    Thank you

Others have reported this problem, but I'm not aware of a solution.  There was a long thread on this a little backwards.  Suggestions included

removal of the preferences of iMovie (iMovie opened while pressing the command and option keys) and relocation of iMovie.  Delete preferably is simple, so you might try that first.

Here's another idea: create a new backup library and to set up the project and see if you can remove it from there.   You can even delete the whole

new library containing the project if you want.  See use of several libraries in the Help menu for instructions.  If it works, it can't cure the underlying problem, but at least it will get rid of the project.

    Good luck with that.

  • iMovie Corruption? Need help with deleting.

I have an OSX El Capitan 2013 Macbook Air 10.11.4. I'm having a problem on iMovie 10.1.2. I felt that iM (iMovie) was too laggy so I decided it was time to remove some old projects. Given that I could open iM, but it was too slow to try to remove anything, I tried to delete the projects directly from iMovie libraries program in my computer files. When I opened it, I started to delete the files (files) which were named after my old projects and emptied the Recycle Bin. When I watched iMovie, however, where the movie has been in my library project has been replaced by the project with a gray square thumbnail and title. iM said initially that they were "damaged" and asked me to fix them. When I refused, I found, I have been unable to remove or garbage projects, but can I remove everything else. I can't find the files now called 'null' in the folder of files that I deleted them. What should I do to get rid of these corrupt files, irreparable?

    Thank you!

    Howdy Ryan Dubb,

If you deleted the contents of the iMovie library package, you will need to create a new iMovie library, copy the contents that you want to keep in the new library, and then remove the original library on your system.
