    Hello Chicktay,

There are problems of incompatibility between Windows 7 and Microsoft Flight Simulator. My research, I find that the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000 is not compatible with Windows 7. Either try to run the game in compatibility mode or mode of upgrade for Microsoft Flight Simulator X.

Check out the link that will give you information on the execution of former programs in compatibility below mode:

  • Flight Simulator 2000 works on Win 7? Lost disc 2 MS will replace it?

Flight Simulator 2000 works on Win 7?  Lost disc 2 MS will replace it?

Sound Windows not listed on Microsoft 7 compatibility Centre, but given its age you are unsure it will work fully, or not at all. A quick search on Google shows that some people have had limited success. You can try Compatibility Mode to see if that helps:

  • Flight Simulator 2000

I just installed the Simulator on my windows 7 and when I start it up it shows the little cutscene, then a picture of a plane. Then, it no longer responds

You may need to run fs2000 in XP compatibility mode. To do this, right-click on the icon of the game on the desktop and select 'Properties' from the menu drop down. Then select the 'Compatibility' tab down on the area "change settings for all users. Place a check mark in the box "run in Compatibility Mode. Then select 'XP SP3', then 'apply '. This should make the racing game.

  • Flight Simulator: Fs 2004 (FS9) disk #4 will not install on XP pro.

First three discs load faster. Rear disc load slow and stops at 77% on the bar of load with this error message: "disk error;@scenery/cities/amsterd Encounted. ACR; Make sure disk is not full, and that the file is not in use. "I've got a Dell Dim E520 C2D, E4300 (1.8 GHZ); 2 GB of Ram; 256 mb ATI Radeon X 1300; that run on the operating system to XP pro. Any idieas? This is 'cleaned reboot;"scndisk; Defrag; uninstalled Fs 2002.

Removed a temporary file; tried to install it in a different folder on the desktop. Created the folder... couldn't copy on CD-ROM in record high desk. No other discs could be copied to desktop. Tried the "scan" (right click) with CD-ROM drive... The scan never completed with disc #4. Didn't say there are errors, just kept turning the CD-ROM drive. I could try to load all the four discs in old computer (10 years) to see if the 4 disk is corrupted or damaged. But if he writes above DirectX 7 with DirectX 9 c. .t will destroy the old drivers and I keep the old PC to run old programs. But what are the chances that I have a corrupted disk? Who and how I will replace if FS9 is no longer supported?
When I bought this PC in 2007 (BTW there installed SP3) it loaded and run Fs 2002 to 100 FPS. Why it won't install (let alone run) FS9?

  • Flight Simulator 2004 - how to copy 'disc 4.

I have Flight Simulator 2004 that I recently installed on an old laptop running Win XP for the use of my grandson.  The program requires disk #4 must be installed in the drive so that the program to run.  I would like to make a copy of disk #4 to prevent potential damage on the original drive, but the drive seems to be protected against copying.  Is it possible to make a copy of this disc?  I have no interest in copying the rest of the disks.  I can be contacted at the following address if you have an answer.

  • flight simulator 2004 brake problem

I posted a brake problem, indicating that the brakes have remained on after several recovery re-installation of Flight Simulator 2004 but I still have the problem even after installation of Flight Simulator X or facility the earlier 2002. I have tried everything I can think so in the game, but without success. I thought it might be a problem in the registry. I went into regedit and impossible to locate any file associated with Flight Simulator. I don't know where else to look at. I suspect that there may be some files on the system that keeps loading after each installation, but I don't know what it would be. It takes so long to install the game every time I pretty much gave up. Help!

    Hi DavidLaing,

    Method 1

I suggest that you create a new user account and check if the problem persists.

If the problem does not persist in the new user account and the old account is damaged and needs replaced.

How to copy data from a corrupted to a new profile in Windows XP user profile

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/811151

    Method 2

If the problem persists in the new user account and then try s different keyboard or input device.

    Method 3

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.
