Import Canon XF100

First of all, I should say that I am on a trial now. I am operationg on Lion 10.7.2 on my imac. So I have a few questions.

Firstly, APP actually import materials, or simply refer to the location of the file?

Now requires it. I can easily find the files from my camera in the media window and import them. But, given that they only reference files on the camera, the USB interface makes things pretty slow. Thus, it seems logical to move the files on my drive to crush on speed. The problem is that the canon XF100 MXF files is broken down into pieces of 5 minutes. So, if I have an interview of long hours, I have 12 files to sort through. Because I am deciding between this and AVID, workflow with files from my camera is pretty important. Canon made a utility for FCPX (which I am using now) and AVID. This allows the files to import from the camera as a clip. But with FCPX, she in fact matter, he refers not just. Yes, is there a way I can either have APP bring in the entire music video as one, or atleast combine clips in my sources to a single file. It is also possible that it is an area that is not completely operational with the trial version. I really like the installation with the APP and the bundle, you can get with it. But if it comes down to him not to cooperate with my video files, then I may have to stay with FCPX, or try avid (who has significant problems of MAC compatibility, which means I probably buty a new PC as well)

Thanks in advance,

Mike Ormerod

Mike, I too, the xf100 wonderfull camera.

Make sure you copy the entire map, because you need all the information on this card

You can use a usb card reader. Very inexpensive.

Put the CONTENTS of the folder in a clean folder and call it it say VIDEO.

Open the media browser and click on the word VIDEO.

All the thumbnails appear.

If you do not want to use the media browser to go to the project Panel

Double click and navigatie to CONTENT.

Highlight the word and click IMPORT FOLDER.

Click ok for the failure of import file.

Good luck.

  • Export best settings for Canon XF100 to SD

Hi guys, my first post - please be gentle!

Recently, I came across from FCP to Premiere Pro CS6. I also acquired a camera Canon XF100 (the output being MXF files) and were shooting to test HD sequences which is 1920 x 1080. However, the project that I will be shooting must be exported as a PAL SD. MOV file, as it should be used for broadcasting by a non-Community HD station.

I tried several different sequences and export of settings to create the SD card. MOV file, but in almost all of them I keep blurring the lines on the screen. I now do not know if I should shooting in SD or HD... I thought I could shoot in HD for a better image before rendering on a permanent export of SD. (I used to do in FCP)

Please excuse my inexperience... but I'm pulling my hair out and I had little first left... If someone could help with the sequence and export of settings, I would be grateful!

    Thanks, Luke.

PAL is 25 frames per second, so it reduces auto. You can put your images in a sequence of pal dv and see how it will work.

  • Removed the GPS metadata while applying the Preset on Import (Canon 6 d)

I spoke to Canon support already and I found that my pictures on my computer keep the GPS metadata on the original photo through their Digital Photo Professional App files. However, when I imported my files on my computer, I applied my own copyright info preset and I accidentally got the box "device info" checked, which did not allow me to transfer all of these GPS metadata on import. I already deleted pictures from my camera, so I'm not able to import photos without this checked.

How to restore the files on my Lightroom photos GPS data? Or do I go through my photos manually through DPP and translate the latitude and longitude of each photo to get the GPS data?

Simply 'remove' (do not drive delete) the pictures of the catalogue and re-importation with an "information appliance" unchecked.

  • Lightroom cc import Canon 5DMKII camera does not show the RAW files

I use LR CC on my desktop and just try to import files directly from the camera (Canon 5DMKII)

However the import only shows JPG files and not the RAW format

:-) may not :-) I am not naïve.

    I use the latest version.

What I found in fact is it might be something related to the way the camera is accessible by the operating system.

I opened the camera of the Explorer and saw that the raw is not displayed correctly, using the card directly, I can see them without any problem

  • Lightroom CC will not import Canon g3x JPEG, RAW, or video, even if they appear in the preview

    Hello

I thought that Lightroom and Photoshop CC have been updated to include the new g3x of Canon.  I am trying to import JPEG, RAW pictures and a few videos my card SD and Lightroom presents in preview everything very well (see the screenshot of the first), but why I click import it crosses and pops up a window that says it can't read the files (second screenshot).  I tried to import via simple COPY and DNG, and no work.  I also turned my computer market.  How can I get my files in Lightroom?  There is no place I can find to manually add the g3x cannon to a list of cameras that Lightroom reads...

You don't have write permissions in the destination folder.

Use Windows Explorer to copy the entire map on the hard drive first, and then use the media browser in Premiere Pro to import the media.

  • Impossible to import Canon RAW files in LR4.2

I tried the import and convert to DNG RAW files of a CF card with images taken on a brand new Canon D5 Mark III. None of the images can be imported and try to install the latest version of the plugin Adobe Camera RAW also failed. The error message reads "the following files were imported not because they cannot be read. (3)"can anyone help?

Update: I've now tried to import files from an SD card to format newly and am having the same problem.

The simplest interpretation of error messages, this is the place you are trying to put the files is not writable.  Do you have the permission to the location?  You use a function of OS level to copy the files here and do more?

  • Import Canon T3i

I shot some interviews on a T3i and I don't want to make a project right now. I want to just make sure that I import them properly so I can reformat the card.

What is the best way to do it? I tried to use a card reader, but that doesn't seem to work. I did connect the camera directly and turn it on and I do not see the files as a drive, but I don't see them in Aperture, ready for import.

What is the best workflow for maintain the HD quality 1080 at its best for later use?

I have the latest versions of programs CS6.

In the past, cameras Canon has never presented as a drive when connected via USB. They are just funny like that. I'm not able to test this right now to see if it has changed or not, but it could explain things. Just use a card reader and the copy of the map. In any case, I have photo should work ok to get the files on your computer.

  • (CS4) - files don't import Canon to CS4 first

When I plug my Canon HFS21 in my computer, I see the good file AVCHD directory.  I can even drag the file in the project window and it says "importing file.  But when I disconnect my camera, all files log.  The import seems too fast for the file to actually upload your device - it certainly seems that this is just the link the file instead.  How can I get the file to actually download off the camera, so I can disconnect the camera and edit?  I use version 4.2.1.  Thank you very much!

It is just to link the file.  First is not a file manager (or, at least, not really used one).  Move the images from the camera to your hard drive first, and then import it.

  • How can I import Canon. Generated by the new Canon 5 d MkIII CR2 raw files?

Just got the new Canon 5 d MkIII and none of Adobe products can recognize files raw (called. CR2) it generates.

I'd be happy just to be converted. DNG but converters do not identify them either.

Anyone know of a solution for me?

    Thank you.

  • Import Canon RAW + Jpeg problem

    Hello fellow photographers!

I have a strange problem when importing I don't understand...

Last week I made a visit to the city which I above all shot JPEGs. At some point but I came along some VERY contrast lighting situations so I decided to also take the RAWs and spent my 450 d RAW + JPEG fine mode. And here's the problem:

When I try to import these 50 CR2 and Photos JPEG I get an unknown error of LR and that they do not matter.

I tried to import both directly from the camera and the ones I imported earlier with the Image Capture.app to HD. In the latter case the previews in the import dialog box will not be displayed even.

More interesting still when I shoot RAW only import is not an issue that confuses me completely. I mean, these are exactly the same. Files CR2 are not?

I also tried allowing RAW and JPEG treatment as separate photos (or so, I use a German version) option, which allows me then import at least JPEG files and still receive errors on the CR2s.

    I use Lightroom 2.6 on Mac 10.6.2

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help

Timo Sirinyan had this to say:

I don't have one. I prefer also rather not go and spend money buy one if I can avoid it.

A card reader is really cheap. Maybe US $20.

Moreover, where the point using a card reader if I can just connect my camera still?

Judging by the almost universal recommendation to not direct connect

the camera to transfer photos, one would surmise that there must be

a reason, this is not recommended, right?

Many times, it is faster to use a card reader. Also less prone to errors

transfers. And less draining on your camera battery, since the camera

didn't need to be on during the transfer. Probably other reasons, but those

are enough to make the vast majority of people use a card reader...

  • How to import first lines of the Canon 5 d Mark III in PSE12? [was: cr2]

    I have Photoshop elements 12 and I can't import Canon 5 d Mark III CR2 files.

Not sure what you mean by the sight of the pictures?  They appear in the dialog box camera raw when you choose a CR2 file in the expert mode menu:

    File > open

What computer and operating system are you using?

Can you try a few new shooting CR2 files and then place them in a folder on your hard drive rather than on the external hard drive. You can import from this site using the menu of the Organizer:

File > Get photos & videos > files & folders

  • MXF import not the duration

    Hi guys.

I'm in pulling hair and soon, son, cables and circuits printed out of this stupid Canon XF100.

I recorded abundant footages, in which they all MXF files.

When I import them into Premiere pro, they show me only 6 seconds of the clip (to say, a clip of 1 min 30 sec).

For the life of me I can't understand it. But I cannot (using SOUL) convert it to mp4 and import it fine.

How to import the MXF files in Premiere Pro? And how this phenomenon occurs?

    See you soon.

    @Jim Simon

I'm not a fan of this unit myself, but I had no choice: (.)  I have to go out with convert to MP4 via SOUL. No problem then. Thank you!

    @Gandem

It is indeed very weird! Are all the other videos of the same card works great! Thank you!

    @Ann Bens

I downloaded utilities XF and now will use to import because it will merge these data along silly files (I hate them). Thanks for the comments!

Thank you all. Not much I can do at this point, but to use converted the MP4 file.

    See you soon.

  • Imported clips are shorter than the originals (points are configured before you import)

After you import the folder of clips, some of them are shorter than they should be (from a few minutes). For some reason any the of in and out is already fixed on them and I can't change it. Look at the pictures on my camera (Canon xf100) all images are here.

    * Note that I imported these images on a different hard drive for another project before this current project... it is possible that some meta data has been transferred?

Well I don't know why he was doing this... However, I have just re-copied the pictures from my camera with Canon XF utility this time. It works now. Thank you for taking a good glance!
