Import from Photo Library Organizer

I can't understand how to make the elements Organizer to import a photo in the library on the Mac.  It has an icon to download from iPhoto but iPhoto is no longer used on OX El capita and this library was merged into the picture.

I have El Capitan on an iMac and the PSE 13. I find by default when you insert an SD card in your camera to a Mac, a 'Photos' window opens and asks if you want to download your photos on Photos. Simply, I clicked on the red dot to close the screen. I then had an SD card icon on my desktop. I opened the SD card icon, highlighted in the photos I wanted and dragged into my own images to the folder on my desktop (the folder resides in the Finder). From there, you can import in PSE as you want using the import PSE icon on the upper left of the Organizer window or you can open photos selectively in the editor and organizer too.

Currently, it seems any assets that you import from the library is saved in your user and not side by side with the project file. First will create a folder "CC libraries downloads" which makes much more sense...

    Or am I wrong?

    Thank you

In a future update, we intend to make the location to which the library assets are recorded an option defined by the user.

  • Comments on missing photos after photo import from iphoto library

I use iphoto extensively for my company and I recently updated my OS to El Capitan and discovered that it didn't work anymore.  There was a note which directed me to download the latest version of the app store and when I did it it says there is no download available.

So I tried to go to the pictures.  I started the pictures and it prompted me to import my iphoto library, which is about 70 gigabytes.  Import ran for a long time and all images now appear in the Photos, but there is a problem.

Before the upgrade, when I downloaded photos in iPhoto, they went to a group and have been dated from and prepared accordingly. But I would add notes and/or descriptions so that when I entered a search for specific photos, they came to the top and I didn't need dates. Apparently, when photos have been imported into the new program, they are listed by date and descriptions are gone. Do you know if they're hiding, or if we can find them? Otherwise I have no idea where the first photos are and I have to visually through the 22 000 photos.

If not, is there a way to return to iphoto for El Capitan?

There was a note which directed me to download the latest version of the app store and when I did it it says there is no download available.

Apple sells iPhoto, is more then the tab update of the AppStore works is no longer.  You can update only by reinstalling, see user tip Barney:   cannot be updated iPhoto because it is not available in the App Store)

Apparently, when photos have been imported into the new program, they are listed by date and descriptions are gone.

Are the descriptions of the events?  If you open the sidebar with the albums, (enter the ⌥⌘S - command-option-S key combination), you will see a folder iPhoto events.  It will be an album for each of your events.

  • Import a Photo library external media to FCPX

    Hello

I try to import media files from a Photo library on an external hard drive in FCPX. For some reason when you select the media browser, it displays only the Photos stored on the internal hard drive. And if I open the browser of photos from the external hard drive, it doesn't let me drag medial files in the event. The one you have suggestions?

IN the pictures Library preferences assign as the library system. You don't see the two libraries in the photo of the FCP browser.

  • I DELETED VIDEOS FROM PHOTO LIBRARY AND THEY REMOVED OFF THE COAST OF IMOVIE!

So I was about to export a video to my iphone out of storage ram. So I decided to remove the videos from the library until I discovered, it removes off imovie! I didn't know that! Like imovie takes lots of storage. I deleted the videos of recently deleted, so now they are gone!

Is it possible to restore them?

And if you're advising me to download something, no malware or viruses please.

If you have enabled iCloud photo library, that's how he wanted to work. iCPL synchronizes all changes and actions, including deletions, across all your devices and computers.

The only way for you to restore these files is from a backup, preferably on your computer.

  • IMPORT EXISTING 'Photo library'

LightroomCC just purchased/installed on Mac with the latest version of OSX El Capitan. I already have an existing 'Photo' library on my folder on the drive hard 'photos '.

I need to 'import' these pictures in the Lr catalog but the file > plugin route does not work as my library's picture not iPhoto!

Tried to use the import pane, followed by player > user > pictures but the library does not appear in the list of content in the images, even if it is there through the Finder. There is, as I can still use it.

I just want to fill the catalogue with existing photographs.

    Any thoughts?

I'm not a geek, but used the opening for many years.

You mean Photos Apple (S at the end).

You must copy, maybe move, the Masters folder in the package folder Photos Library.library to another folder on your hard drive. Then you can import them into LR.

None of the changes you have made in Photos Apple will be included, but at least you'll have your images in a program that does not take full control of their.

To access this folder of masters, you will need to right-click on this package of library and select to display the contents of the package. It will then develop in a few other cases being the masters record. Just copy/move it to another folder you create on your drive.

  • I have to run updater from photo library?

You will have to update iTunes, iPhoto and OS. Told to do first, the BONES of others later if necessary. Said associate local store must use before the updater upgrade photo library; Apple said support is not necessary. I'm very interested in retaining the present sort order in the Albums of IPhoto when move to Photos. What is suggested here? Present system: iMac 10.1; 10.8.5 OS; 8 MB; 9.4.3 iPhoto; iTunes 11.0.5.

With iPhoto 9.4.3 you don't need to upgrader iPhoto library - it is necessary for the version 7 (iPHoto ' 08) and previous libraries

It is well documented by Apple

Using the tool of valorisation of the iPhoto - Apple Support Library

The iPhoto Library upgrade prepare libraries of iPhoto ' 08 (v7.x) or an earlier version so that you can use with the latest version of iPhoto or Photos for OS X. If your library is created by iPhoto ' 09 (8.x) or later, you do not need to use this tool.

Unfortunately, it is that Apple has misinformed employees so much bad information and act as if they were geniuses

  • Previous import to new library of Photos

    Good evening everyone,

I've had my Macbook Pro 4 years now and I never formatted, so when the pictures came out he asked me to import iPhotos library of Photos and there is no problem at all. Recently, given that my hard drive was close to death, I manually supported both iPhoto and photo library, just to make sure I had everything. Then I went and installed El Capitan on my new SSD, I put in my macbook.

Now I am facing this problem: Photos already and automatically imported some photos from my photo streaming from my iPhone. Now I would like to import the library I had on my previous operating system with my old photos. Is this possible? How can I do? Can I import the photo library, or even the iPhoto library? I hope that wasn't confusing.

    I ask because I don't want you bumble, that's why I'm here.

    Thank you very much

  • How to import the Apple photo library in Lightroom 5?

    Hello

I installed the perpetual version LR5 just before upgrading to OSX Yosemite 10.10.3 meant that my iPhotos disappeared and became the dumbed down version of the Photos instead.

But I can't import library of Photos in Lightroom and I can't find anything on how to do if 'upgrade' of Photos has been more than a month ago now and I can't be only interested in

What is Lightroom refuses to play with Apple?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi stuartm70056443

I'm sorry, but there is no available plugin to import the photo library. At least not for the moment. The photos app is new, so there might be a plugin for photos in the future.

For the moment I do it this way: export the photo of the photos as "unmodified original" app, and then import it in Lightroom.

    Kind regards

  • Photo library, duplicate photos of different resolution

I recently imported my Photos iPhotos library, in order to start weaning myself far from iPhoto and photo.  In my library (and in my Album of iPhotos events) I see pictures in duplicate, with one photo at higher resolution and the other at a lower resolution, with the auto tag 'photo stream.  I do NOT use iCloud as a backup of the photo (cannot afford to pay for it).

It would be nice to remove the photo in low resolution?  I guess it's the version of the photo in the photo stream on my iPhone and iPad, so maybe not.  I find it very confusing.  Thank you for helping me.

What you have said, it isn't really clear from the pictures or what they are. In iPhoto, the photos that were imported from photo stream should have been imported as images in full resolution on your Mac, it's mobile devices that see a smaller version of the resolution. So yes, import on a Mac should translate the keyword the photo stream, but they must be images in full resolution.

These photos appear in your photo album of flow on your Mac Voyez_ you pictures on your mobile devices and if so where.

  • How to restore a photo library using iCloud on a MacBook?

I now use iCloud for back up my entire library (more than 200 GB).  How to restore a photo library (including all data of pictures like faces, events, etc.) on my MacBook Pro when my MacBook Pro needs to be replaced?

I used historically Time Machine to backup and restore my library when my photo library migration to another laptop.  However, I now do not have a backup Time Machine full of my library because the library is too large to store locally.  So now, I'm opting for storing it on iCloud to Apple servers using their 'optimize' Photos option.  Now, if I replace my laptop, I would be sure that as transparent as Time Machine restore solution is to obtain and import the Photo library (for example, the index of all my photos, events / files, location tags, face tags, etc.) on my new laptop directly from iCloud.

Enjoy any clarity in iCloud library restore capabilities!

I now use iCloud for back up my entire library (more than 200 GB).  How to restore a photo library (including all data of pictures like faces, events, etc.) on my MacBook Pro when my MacBook Pro needs to be replaced?

You can create an empty photo library on your new Mac, and then enable iCloud photo library for this new library of Photos.  The library will download icloud, and most of the elements will be restored.

But iCloud is not a backup. It's a centralized storage to keep all libraries updated on all your devices.

There are some things that will not be restored to iCloud, for example the albums faces or your projects.

This document describes how a library will be uploaded to iCloud to another Mac:

Use iCloud photo library on several Mac - Apple Support computers and Photos

After have connected you, these items appear in the Photos on your Mac app:

    • All photos and original videos
    • All folders and albums
    • Smart albums
    • Keywords
    • Keywords from searches of the tile faces
    • Key photo selections

These items are available only on the Mac where you created the:

    • Books, cards and calendars
    • Slideshows
    • Keyword shortcuts
    • Unused keywords
    • Last album imported (this album contains photos you have imported recently on a specific Mac)
    • Facing tiles and faces of the data

I is not entirely based on iCloud as a backup of your photos, but sometimes create a copy of your photo library on an external drive. In this way, you can restore your library, even if you are having problems with the internet connection, and it will be faster.

  • Old photos have not been deleted, even if it's been more than 2 months and keep crashing the photo library in icloud.

Earlier this year, I used the library to icloud to back up my photos. Everything worked well. After awhile, I deleted the photos and off synchronization from photo library. Today, I decided that I wanted to use again, so I turned it on. It seems to work fine but when I connect to my PC I have the chance to see the old photos have not been removed. They seem to be corrupt (there is an exclamation mark instead of a thumbnail) and I can not open them, instead the library hangs. It has been more than 2 months, I suppose that even if I forgot to delete some photos, they should be gone now. Is there a way to fix this?

    a few things

1 - iCloud Photo is not a backup - it's a synchronization service - see FAQ-apples iCloud Photo library FAQ - Apple Support

    More precisely

    Do I need a backup?

ICloud library stores all of your photos and original videos in iCloud, but we still recommend that track you return of copies of your library. You can upload your photos and videos to iCloud on your computer and store them in a separate library, transfer them to another computer with transfer of images or Photosor store them on a separate disk.

2 - ICPL can be accessed through Safari - connect to iCloud.com can click on the picture and see what's there - look in the recently deleted album and see what's there

  • iMovie and photo library

How can I open my of Foto-photoslibrary in iMovie (10.2.2 It is gray and I cannot import into iMovie.

You do not import the photo library in iMovie. iMovie automatically displays the photo library. When you say that it is grey, I assume you mean in the preferences of Photos. This means that it is the library system, which is what you want. If you don't see the photo library in the library list in iMovie try opening the pictures before you launch iMovie.
