Impossible to extend the local disc (c :)) after local disk (d :)) reduction

I have narrowed my local disc D for 10 GB, because I wanted to extend my local C drive. After I shrunk D, I went to extend my C drive, and I could not extend it, it would mean that these 10 GB simply disappeared. In disk management, it is said that these 10 GB are still there, that is, its size is still normal, but when I open my computer it says that it is smaller than 10 GB, and it really is. That space is just gone, I guess.

I hope that I was clear enough. Any ideas?

Depends on the free space is located compared to C

Victory records management integrated that it cannot be done if the free space is right next to C

    ORA-01654: impossible to extend the APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_ROW_TEMPLATE_PK index by 8 in the APEX_APP_USER tablespace

    everything worked perfectly before...

    installed on the local computer on Oracle 11 g...

    all solutions?

    Hello

    You can find APEX schema tablespace and data file using for example query

    SELECT f.tablespace_name
      ,f.file_name
    FROM dba_data_files f
    WHERE EXISTS (
      SELECT 1
      FROM dba_users u
      WHERE u.username = 'APEX_040200'
      AND u.default_tablespace = f.tablespace_name
    );

    Then increase the size of the data file or add the new data file. In addition, you can activate the automatic extension.

    Modify and maintain storage

    If you use database 11g XE and you have installed APEX SYSAUX tablespace, you may have worn size the system tablespace (s) max.

  • ORA-1654 <>- impossible to extend the index

    We have an oracle application server and we started having errors ORA-1654. After digging through files newspapers, we found an error: ORA-1654: impossible to extend the JTF index. 16 in the APPS_TS_TX_IDX tablespace JTF_IH_ACTIVITIES_N6.

    From what I understand, we must add a data file of our system. We currently have 4 data files that are 4 GB each. What is the solution? If Yes, what is the safest way to do it. Can I copy the files of 4 DB to another location and restore in this way, if the added file doesn't work or what is the best practice for this type of action? Thank you

    Hi ToolMan,

    Cannot extend the JTF index. 16 in the APPS_TS_TX_IDX tablespace JTF_IH_ACTIVITIES_N6.

    This means that the index needs to grow in space and is full of tablespace APPS_TS_TX_IDX.
    You must add datafille, it's regular daily dba work nothing to worry about.
    Action plan:
    1. first check where are the data APPS_TS_TX_IDX files--> select file_name in dba_data_files where tablesapce_name = 'APPS_TS_TX_IDX ';
    2. check that you have enough space in the filsystem.
    3. Add datafile--> alter tablespace APPS_TS_TX_IDX add datafile ' / path to the data file ' size XXXM;

  • ORA-01654: impossible to extend the index error or a bug?

    Hi all

    I have a question about the error "ORA-01654: impossible to extend the index schema1024 in tablespace tablespace .index '.

    We use Oracle 10 g 2 (10.2.0.4.0) who has a diagram with auto extend feature enabled and more than enough space on the disk (like 130 + GB).

    But still, we had this error and it is the third time that happens, what can be the cause and what can we do to fix or is this a bug?

    Can you please give more information about the tbsp concerned and its data files?

    Even if it's in autoextend, a small file tablespace has a maxsize, and even if you assign unlimited there a maxsize value that depends on the size of your block.

    Kind regards

  • ORA-01654: impossible to extend the index DRM_DB. IDXREL02 by 1024 in the DRM_INDEX tablespace

    Hello

    I am running a script of action in DRM 11.1.2.1 and I received the following on some lines of the script error: ORA-01654: impossible to extend the index DRM_DB. IDXREL02 by 1024 in the tablespace DRM_INDEX.

    Nobody knows what it means, and what is the solution?

    Thank you

    The problem was caused because the DRM_DB. Tablespace IDXREL02 was up.

    Add the data to the existing 'IDXREL02' table file to increase the size.

    example-

    SQL > alter tablespace DRM_DB. IDXREL02 add datafile ' file > / IDXREL02.dbf ' size 500M autoextend on;

    Thank you

    It seems that the value for minextents for your tablespace is located at 56 and tablespace doesnot have enough space to allocate as much quantity of memory regarding the contiguoes extensions. Then, either you need to add a data file tablespace or resize the existing table. You can also try the decrease of the Minextents value for the tablespace if you think this tablespace has enough space to accommodate segments. Better would be to add a file or resize a file.

  • VCenter 4.1 connect to iso image on the local disk

    Hello

    I have a question about certain permissions in vcenter 4.1 until now, we have used vcenter 4.0 and we had a few asigned security role with permisions them following: all privileges: Virtual Machine: Interaction: configure support CD; Configure floppy Media; Interaction of the console; Turn on; Power off; Reset.

    It is basically the minimum requirements for some of our clients to witch we sell vps servers.

    My problem is: given that I've updated vcenter 4.1 security to configure cd media does not seem work apropriately. The only option witch is not grayed out is connect to the host device. The possibility to connect to iso image on the local disk or connect to the physical drive D: (local client CD-ROM) are greyed out.

    Someone knows something about this security role change and what kind of extended privileges do I have to add in order to make it work?

    Hello

    I think you should also "connection device"...

    In addition, there may be one advanced virtual computer that denies this capability... Here are the parameters of the isolation and many guides say to turn it off.

  • Groups and permissions of the user is added to the local disk post-conversion?

    We currently have a security policy with our Windows servers requiring admins to remove unnecessary security groups and users on the local disks. Basically, the SYSTEM and administrators retain full control, but all other users and groups are deleted for security reasons. We find that during a P2V conversion/clone servers, security groups and users are added to the readers of these new virtual machines (see screenshots below):

    Security before and after conversion. Could this be a function of the sysprep post-conversion tasks that work?

    Until now, we thought that, apart from the usual physical changes inherent to a clone, security remains unchanged. We follow best practices for conversion of these machines (running this as a local administrator account, run this converter installed on the machine, by stopping services as much as possible and so on).

    http://communities.vmware.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/6174/pre-permissions.pnghttp://communities.vmware.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/6181/post-permissions.png

    You can compare it to a system where you don't resize volumes, but all other factors are the same?

    If you reduce the size of a hard disk volume during the conversion, it will make a copy of file by file from the source to the destination devices.  We may have to add permissions for the conversion process, but I don't know if it is real.

    If you maintain or increase the size of the hard drive, it is a clone of block level which should be a bit-by-bit copy the source system.

    Hi Jasonbichard,

    1. what type of drive is D? Is - this another partition on the same disk?

    2 Windows operating system you are using?

    You can change the location of the disk to save the data in the d: instead of C: and check if it helps.

    a. navigate to the location (username) C:\Users\.
    b. right click on the folder that you want to change the location, and then select Properties.
    c. click on the location tab and change the location to D: drive.

    d. click on apply and Ok.
