Impossible to get higher resolutions to 1080 p on my precision M3800

My laptop M3800 screen is connected to the integrated graphics card Intel HD 4600 and can only display resolutions up to 1080 p. Of course, I would get the full resolution of 3200 x 1800.

Running Windows 8.1.

Any help appreciated.

It's a screen FHD 1080 p - this isn't a QHD.

I reinstalled the drivers for the monitor; current driver is 1.0.0.0 11 13, 2012

Monitor is currently appearing as "HDMI" in the Device Manager; I have chosen "Analogue" and had the same results. Now & then I see "Generic PnP monitor" in the Device Manager. whenever I see it I uninstall it.

Bottom line is this: settings keep bouncing everywhere. On rare occasions, I saw the picture I want on the external monitor; When I close the lid on my computer (that's why I bought the external monitor - so I can get a bigger picture, not two), the resolution is 1024 x 768. When I disconnect the external monitor, I get the correct image and ratio 16:9 (1366 x 768) on my laptop screen. When I connect the external monitor I have two choices for the resolution: 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768.

I went to the Intel graphics properties tool and set a resolution to 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz - 32 bit - proposed by Samsung for their monitor. Result 7 choices of resolution, no '' recommended '' and the higher tag 1366 x 768. I can live with 1280 x 720; When I choose this resolution or anything higher, the laptop screen is superb, but the image on the external monitor covers 1/4 of the screen - the rest is black. Reset the external monitor doesn't change anything.  Computer restarting does not help. Monitor disconnect/reconnect does not help. I tried this routine dozens of times.

I really need to use the external monitor, and I need the image proportional. Is there a way to do this?

    Hi, thanks for the response.

I saw this on the Intel Web site so I tried mode extended without change.

If I had 1366 x 768 on both screens, I would have been delighted - instead, I had two choices on my external monitor: 4:3, covering the entire screen with a distorted image, or 16:9 which covers about 40% of the screen.

The most likely explanation I can think of is that the external monitor 4:3, I used in the past has left a kind of preference file in my computer which could not be changed, so he kept coming back to 4:3 instead of 16:9. I thought the problem might be the VGA - VGA cable, but this does not explain why I was unable to cover the entire screen on my external monitor with something other than a distorted picture.

Using the past because I was forced to buy a new laptop. As soon as I plugged on the external monitor, everything was perfect.

    Hello
I can't force my laptop P200 with radeon 2600hd to work properly with the Samsung T240HD LCD screen.
Nor with the d - Sub or HDMI output.

Using d - Sub maximum resolution I can get is 1024 x 768... monitor can go up to 1900 x 1200. With different laptop ex Toshiba P100 with nvidia Go7600, everything is OK - 1920 x 1200 goes like a charm.

Much worse is to use an HDMI output. Photo is very poor - I can't choose any standard resolution. Worse than common crt tv (SD).

I have a new Toshiba support web pages display drivers.
    The cables are OK.

    Any help?

    Hello

I'm really surprised that you can get the resolution of 1024 x 768 only. According to the specifications of the laptop for P200 with ATI graphics support for external monitor resolutions are:
    640 x 480
    800 x 600
    1024 x 768
    1280 x 1024
    1400 x 1050 is not supported.
    1600 x 1200
    1920 x 1440
    2048 x 1536
Then maybe you should try to use the original driver Samsung

    Any suggestions?

It is always an issue with external screens. Most of them have very high native resolution, and because GPU performance limited to external displays, there is often a problem.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find what is the max resolution for external displays, but your LP3065 has 2.560 x 1.600 as max resolution, right?

Can you please tell us what OS you are using? The Toshiba support page display driver you are using.

  • Tecra 8100: Can't get high resolution - video controller driver?

    Hello

    Anyone can answer the question?

I have a 8100 Tecra which was under Windows 98. I upgraded to Win2000P but I can't get the right amount of colors or greater than 600 x 800 resolution. Also, I can't load the former driver of BT's broadband services.

In Device Manager, it is required for the video controller (VGA Compatible). I searched the site of Toshiba for a suitable download and can't find something like this.

Does anyone know if the solution to this problem exists on this Web site or if Toshiba can send me a disc with the necessary info.

Another idea of the problem is that it may need a mother board driver, if what can be downloaded?

Sorry if it's vague but I am writing this on behalf of my stepfather, so it is second hand information.

So to me it looks like a missing display driver. What do you think?
Did you install the display driver for W2k?

On the European Toshiba driver page I found a drivers needed for W2k and the display driver is also available.
There are 2 display drivers, so check everything first to support it.

You mentioned the driver BT broadband. Did you mean Bluetooth?
To my knowledge this device does not have Bluetooth support.

  • Impossible to get a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1600 on external monitor using DVI with Optimus video T420s

    Hello

I have a T420s with Nvidia Optimus graphics card. I also have the ThinkPad Mini Dock Plus Series 3.

When I tried to drive an external monitor via DVI, I can't get the full resolution of 2560 x 1600.

I searched the forums and found several threads expressing problems with the implementation of the resolution of 2560 x 1600 per display port. Engineering even issued a new nvidia driver to solve problems. (http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T420-Unable-to-get-max-resolution-of-2560x1...

I uninstalled my intel/nvidia drivers but also installed the latest lenovo driver according to the instructions on the previous post and I still can't get the full resolution of 2560 x 1600 on the DVI ports of the docking station. I tried two DVI ports on the docking station, and it still does not work. I tried enabling Optimus, discreet mode mode, etc... Nothing helps.

However, if I try to drive the external monitor via the display of the docking port, I can get the complete resolution of 2560 x 1600.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this so I can use the DVI ports on the docking station?

Thank you very much for the help!

dvi on the dock port is single link dvi and not dual link dvi, as such, it supports WQXGA or WQHD resolution.

In order to use the resolution WQXGA resolution, you must use the displayport, if you monitor is not a displayport then you must use an active displayport to DVI.

The default resolution and "recommended" for my two monitors lenovo is 1920 x 1080. I have a new system and I tried for a few weeks now to something to work with screen resolution and third-party apps. I am under W7 Pro right now, but will soon be getting to 10.

The high resolution is not a problem in 7 with any Microsoft stuff. With the help of a custom of the DPI setting takes care of all the native stuff. Some third-party applications can be set as well. For example, Corel Photo Paint X 7 has bars of detachable command with command icons that can be set to small, medium or large. When the size of the icon is changed, the size of the font adjusts accordingly and it is perfectly feasible, acknowledging the icons or by reading the text. It is perfect for this dual screen system and works like a charm.

However, most of other software companies are not quite as respectful of their clients. Bryce, formerly owned by Corel, but now DAZ despicable, is not removable toolbars and there is no options available to adjust the sizes of icons in order. Even if preferences to provide an engaging, multiple monitor option not to release the toolbars or increase the font size. It only opens the Bryce "Labs" in the second monitor in a position at the end of the dialog box, half of the Cup.

It also applies even in a top of the range of applications such as VIEW and Smith Micro, Poser Pro. They present menus and toolbar icons that are so tiny, it is necessary to use the Magnifier Microsoft to make and which isn't real solution when your work with graphics programs. It's incredibly awkward.

My old system, running XP Pro, SP3, which I always put in place and operational, has a screen resolution of 1280 X 768, and it displays all the software of third party very well. If I try to use this resolution with W7 and these monitors high resolution, I get a crushed image down and half on the screen which is useless. I can read everything very well, but all images are short and fat! If it was possible to type values for the height and width, using an infinite scale rather than the fixed scale that is provided by the slider over, nicked in W7, it would be possible to find a combination that worked. Then, once the wreck was set for third party stuff, the custom DPI settings Windows could take care of the native stuff.

I had an Oracle VirtualBox running for awhile and loaded the third of things out there and it worked for awhile but it did not offer the ability double screen and, in any case, after awhile it started to get really uptight and I finally just had to get rid of.

Really, I would be much happier if I could just load XP Pro on this machine and do run as quickly as things that made to run on it. The only reason why I got a new system was the need for more speed and muscle. But if I can't use my favorite, applications worth it?

Is there no workaround solution that will make it possible to adjust the resolution so that the third-party applications are fully functional using all the space on the screen?

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read and respond.

Since no one answered I'll provide the solution myself. Doing right thing 'upgrade' to Windows 10 has this problem of resolution.

Other than that, getting W10 to work even at halfway was a nightmare.

  • Dell inspiron 7520, how to get a resolution of 2560 x 1440 on external monitor?

    Hi all

I have a fairly new Dell inspiron 7520, AMD Radeon HD M 7730, Intenl HD Graphics 4000. I just bought a 27 "monitor that I wanted to work on the resolution of 2560 x 1440. My monitor has only DP, HDMI and DVI-ports and my laptop has VGA and HDMI ports. I tried the HDMI, but it looks like its 2560 x 1440, but 1900 x 1080 cant handle. It's really frustrating for me because I bought the monitor with 2560 x 1440. I tried it before on other monitors by using the VGA and I managed to run 2560 x 1440. What is the solution here?

-Can I get a VGA-DVI/DP cabel? or adapter?

-There's another device that I can connect to?

-I have to take my laptop and get the upgrade? If Yes, where can I do this in China? So many false places here and I wanted to take the official Dell store - but can't find in Shanghai.

Thanks, 1 million - that's very frustrating. Can't believe my fairly new dell laptop can't handle 2560 x 1440. My 4 roommates macbook air still for this. Another problem, I love my computer dell laptop.

    Thank you.

    Ivar

I missed the part, no DVI.  Use the VGA/DVI, you need a set-top box power - VGA is analog, digital DVI.  You may not use a single cable.  Unfortunately, I do not think that these will run a very high resolution.  They are all limited to the 1920 resolution.

It is a system relatively low-end and low-end systems have their limits - the resolution that you want to run is a high-end - need you a notebook of top line (with a displayport) run the desired resolution.
