  The reason why I am interested in the free disk space on your C partition, it is that it would appear reasonable to perform an in Place Upgrade.   If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.

  The first step in the Matlab installation process is about installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable, but the progress of the installation stops with the bar very near the end. The progress bar stops moving (but continues to work the animation on this) and it is just there for something like 10 seconds, but there also two or three minutes. Then the installation window closes without any error or confirmation that the installation was successful. In the control panel appears an entry "Microsoft visual c ++ 2005" but it is, in fact, does not work. Installation of Matlab does not and if I start it again it's the same thing again.

  I tried to install C++ by Microsoft Web site directly, but the same problem occurs, and more no error report is given.
