  Open the Task Manager by right-clicking the taskbar, and then click Start Task Manager.

  Processes tab.

  Click on show processes from all users.

  Check for Bridge.exe under the name of the Image.

  If you find Bridge.exe then select process and click on end process.

  Have you tried you look for firefox.exe in the Task Manager process tab (you can get to that by using Ctrl-Alt-Delete, usually)? If you click firefox.exe in the list and then click on end process, it should close Firefox, even if Firefox does not seem to be running (sometimes the process takes a little longer to close the main window). If all else fails, maybe a reboot?

Manage devices said it works fine as well and it does not work in SafeMode either. I have no idea what it is and I can't find much help on the internet so any suggestions are appreciated. If you need more details let me know and I will respond immediately.

  I solved the problem by replacing the DVD drive with another. I think she came of his time.

  Note: Before using my method above, Safari has been completely closed and was not 'on '.  Users should definitely verify that Safari is completely closed, before taking further action.
