I have one remember off the top of my head...

For practical reasons, the answer is Yes.

-UO should have attended the training course...
- or you should have been a DBA OCP 11 g (and training is required for that, unless you certified a long while ago as a 7(8?)) OCP DBA before the obligation and have updated become 11 g DBA OCP of updates)

Mandatory training for the certification of EBS in class? (R12)

I do not remember / do not know that out of my head.

But websire Oracle tells you:

Visit http://certification.oracle.com

Looking for certification... and mandatory training will be detailed here.

The required courses are detailed.

If so, then what is the cost for this...

http://education.Oracle.com will give details of the courses and training costs for your country.

    For a very basic definition, ACR is technology that is used by the database and IM is the infrastructure that makes the CAR work. In a response to the forum, this is probably all that can be said about the two. For a very long answer, you should read the links you cited.

    # 2, the course you are looking at is called accelerated because it combines two courses in one week training-RAC (4) and GI (3). So it's a day 7 curriculum that we would do in a 5 day course and who must justify its cost. But let me say, it's a really very good. But on the other side, it can be pretty intimidating to someone who does not already know these technologies. So I suggest that you send your team to each course individually and no doubt after doing some research. They can start to read the following books

    Thanks in advance!

    ACR is part of database software Oracle database option should be the database mode cluster; See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e16508/glossary.htm#CNCPT2076.

    Clusterware is a separate required to run the Oracle database in cluster mode: you can use Oracle Clusterware without Oracle database, but you cannot use Oracle Database with the option CARS without Oracle Clusterware.

  • How Oracle Clusterware Oracle RAC and 3rd-party Clustering with them

    I have some questions on how Oracle, Oracle RAC and 3rd party clustering CLusterware fit between them.

    Q1. My understanding is that the Infrastructure Grid Oracle Clusterware is Oracle's Clustering solution that allows applications to cluster? that is, it is a general clusterware solution to compete with those already on the market. Is this correct?

    Q2. So why CARS is necessary for the Oracle cluster databases? An Oracle database is not just considered one application like any other? So why can not just use you GI / Clusterware to gather what you would do for any other application? Why so you need RAC to the Clusterware Summit?

    Q3. Is it is possible to combine an Oracle database using 3rd party of clustering and not use Oracle Clusterware and CARS at all that is can you say cluster, an Oracle database using say Sun Clusters, Clustering AIX or Linux native same clustering?

    Q4. If the RAC is purely for Oracle Cluster databases - what is with the title "Real Application Clusters"? What's real on this subject?, what to ask?

    Q5. I also read that RAC can use 3rd party of clustering. However if you decide that this is the case, then you need to install Oracle Clusterware when even (I think for interconnection must be created to allow the merger with Cache between Instances of node?).

    Is this the case?  If yes why never bore you with 3rd party clusters? -Since you will have to install Oracle Clustering anyway - and I probably have to license (all I can think about is the scenario that you already have a cluster of 3rd party in place and you decide that you need to use the same material for a database cluster)?

    All wisdom greatly appreciated,

    Jim

    Yes, with 10g, you had to use the CRS, and with 11g, to use the GI.  For 9i RAC, you would use Verits Cluster and Sun Cluster or anything else.

    11g RAC to GI.  As above, you can use clusterware extra if needed.  I gave the example above where to a 10g RAC we used the CRS to the cluster database/listener/vip and allowing groups of volume and filesystem in HACMP cluster.  File systems were not shared, but could switch to another node failure node, who has been treated by HACMP.  The volume of the groups containing the raw devices were shared volume groups.  For 11g, I never used extra clusterware on top of CRS and have always used ASM which is part of the GI.

    The application provider only certified database to run on 10g on AIX with raw devices.  What is strange about that?  It would be unusual that you probably expect to use ASM instead of raw devices, but it is what it is.

    See the following Note of Oracle for more information: using Oracle Clusterware with vendor Clusterware FAQ (Doc ID 332257.1)

    It is perhaps easier to explain if you can explain what problem you are trying to solve?

  • Generic class of packaging a number Comparable and infinite

    Hello world!

    I want now to implement a class that may as well wrap any class that extends number, is Comparable and has an infinite number of element, which is superior to all others (I know, Float and Double who already, but I need to be able to have whole etc as well).

    My current draft looks like this:
    public class NumericalAnalysisSet<T extends Number & Comparable<T>> implements Comparable<NumericalAnalysisSet<?>>{

         private Tuple<T, Boolean> value = null;

         public T getNumValue() {
              return value.entry1;
         }

         public boolean isInfinity() {
              return value.entry2;
         }
         public Tuple<T, Boolean> getValue() {
              return value;
         }

         @Override
         public int compareTo(NumericalAnalysisSet<?> o) {
              int result = 0;
              if (o.isInfinity() && !this.isInfinity()) {
                   result = -1;
              } else if (this.isInfinity() && !o.isInfinity()) {
                   result = 1;
              } else {
                   result = this.getNumValue().compareTo(o.getNumValue());
              }
              return result;
         }

    }
    but my generic stuff seems wonky - the call
    this.getNumValue().compareTo(o.getNumValue());
    produces an error on o.getNumValue ().

    This should be possible, so is there an easy way to fix it? Or do you have another solution for my problem?

    Thanks for any help you can give!

    Hi all

    I tried to solve the problem on our server of CARS of single node of development for a few weeks now (with the participation of MOS). That it took so long to get anywhere, the decision was taken completely uninstall everything and start from scratch.

    As I build the server, I'm not aware of the RAC and ASM installation procedure. I need basically a blank slate - I can't manually delete the directories Oracle will help me this time due to ASM, ocr and voting disks and my colleague has mentioned something about the disks formatted in ocfs.

    Is there a solutution nice and easy?

  • Oracle 10g RAC and Unix * question rlogin *.

    I supports several bases RAC 10 g running on servers pSeries IBM using AIX 5.3. Our data base and the clusterware indicated 10.2.0.3 10.2.0.4.

    I understand that user equivalence and rsh/ssh must be enabled so that the environment RAC and clusterware to connect across all the cluster nodes.

    My problem is an issue raised by our internal system Auditors. Are asking that the commands rlogin and exec for AIX is disabled, because they feel that it is a security risk. Two orders prompt for a valid user name and password when they are used for the remote connection or execute a command.

    I looked at the RAC documentation search online and Metalink (I'm not an expert on Metalink, though!) as well as Google and could not find anything indicating that rlogin and exec are specifically required for CARS work properly.

    Can anyone offer advice or their point of view on whether or not these two commands should be enabled for RAC in order to function?

    I thank you in advance for any help, you can give it to me.

    Kind regards
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

    as far as my knowledge goes CARS use neither commands rlogin or exec.
    After the installation of the cluster Oracle simply communicates via. (Clusterware) TCP and UDP (RAC) and is only sending and receiving messages. It is not necessary at run time for a remote access connection.

    ALS if ssh and rsh are solemnly used for installation and connection (not for communication).
    Oracle recommends always to leave active because it makes life easier to activate ssh every time that a patch is necessary.

  • Split of RAC and ASM

    Hi all

    I am running the DB RAC and ASM instance @ the same oracle home.
    I want an environment in which the ASM instance should run on its own oracle home. Pourrait procedures expert advice?

    1. install RBDMS s/w in a new location, such as an oracle of new home.
    2. once the installation is complete, stop the asm & RAC instances which uses this ASM instance
    3 copy the pfile asm file to the new location
    3 update the new location of oracle_home in the use of OCR to ASM

    srvctl change asm n -i [o ] [Pei ]

    * Set if pfile in the default location ($ORACLE_HOME/dbs), no need to specify.

    4 start the db ASM and RAC one by one.

  • RAC and dataguard

    With reference to this thread
    Dataguard and standby dbs is HA

    RAC and DATAGAURD are two different approaches to the high availability and disaster recovery.
    We intend to implememt RAC and DATAGAURD, but there are also questions of budget.

    With CARS as I understand we have multiple instances of a single database. If machines node of administration of a single database server.
    With DATAGAURD, we have a DR solution somewhere else. If the primary server goes down, database Eve reprised the role of primary education.

    With single CARS, if any node fails, another node in instance recovery there or the server continues. But what happens if the database server fails. With only one PAP and no dataguard, it will not allow downtime?

    Hello
    Different solutions, so they can not replace the other. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

    Now, if you have 1 storage, it will time out if the storage is broken. But you can have more than one storage and redundancy between them.
    In addition, you can have geo-cluster so tackling the failure of the site as well.

    About DataGuard, it depends on how you set it up, if you use a maximum availability or protection, there will be no data loss, but you'll have performance because every posting will be sent to the waiting and you will have a short downtime until the standby mode is activated.

  • RAC and standalone 10g EE databases on Solaris containers, ¿certified?

    Hello

    I said to check if it is possible on the same server running Solaris 10 coexists a RAC database and a stand-alone database, two g 10 EA.

    Containers would be used, therefore, with regard to the information to the I saw on Metalink, databases that are not CARS are certified to work on global and non-global containers and Oracle RAC is not certified nor supported in local containers.

    So, I think that the only option would be to install RAC on the global zone and the standalone database on a non-global zone.

    And my question is, if we should go for this configuration, it is certified and might have the support of Oracle?

    Thanks in advance.

    You're right, rac is not supported in solaris zones/containers. I think what you're suggesting (instance of rac and clusterware in global and sometimes unique area in containers) is supported, but please consider that your rac database could get expelled from the cluster for a reason or another which means a reboot of the server that would take also down all instances of monkey.

    If you are on SPARC CMT you can use LDOMs.
