    Separated from this thread.

Is it possible to delete all entries in the Eventvwr log, so I can go back to that is the app is written in the Eventvwr log?

By default, event viewer produced a considerable number of newspapers.

The four elements of the menu in event viewer bar are file, Action, view and help.

Clear a log only appears in the Action menu of drop-down menu if the cursor is placed in a newspaper that can be erased and a report in the list is not currently selected. So if it is placed on the option Windows logs clear a log is unavailable, while "subject of a report in a folder under five is not selected, the option clear a log is available."

The three main Windows logs files are Application, security, and system. The default file for these logs size is 20, 480 KB, which is larger than necessary. A reasonable size is 2 048 KB. You can easily change the size immediately after clearing the log by using the scrollbar to the right of the maximum log size to change whatever size you choose. In the same time make sure that the box before overwriting is checked. All of your changes by clicking apply then OK. If you have not disabled the first newspaper the system prevents the selection of a maximum file size less than the size of the existing file.

see that the app is written in the Eventvwr log?

The system records the entries in the logs. The system monitors everything that happens. Individual applications do not write entries in the Event Viewer logs. It's the system that records the entries on startup applications, stop and crashing!

  • Is it possible to delete a plot with the help of the mouse select the chart control?

For example, when I use the plot to draw thousands of lines on the chart control, I want to delete some of them, but there are thousands of generated plotHandle.

How can I get the plotHandle of the specific line on the chart control with the help of the mouse to select the option?

If I save the information from the lines, such as the plotHandle and the coordinates on a table or list, etc, I compare information lines for the plotHandle of the specific line.
Is it all a user-friendly way to remove a track selection on the chart control?

I can't give you a reasonable way to solve this problem, since as you have already noted plot do not snappable plots.

A possible warkaround would be to replace the plot of individual instructions with a PlotXY matching with 2 bays 2 points each, which correspond to the x 1, x 2, y1, y2 parameters to plot. PlotXY plots are snappable, so you can enable this procedure select the plot and remove it.

  • In the Messages in an iMac, is it possible to delete several messages at the same time (not one)

When you use MESSAGES on your iPhone, you have the option of a button CHANGE that allows deletion of multiple messages in one fell swoop.  When I use MESSAGES on my iMAC I don't have the same option.  I need to delete messages one at a time.   Does anyone know a way to delete multiple messages on an IMAC.  It seems that it must be something simple that would work the same as on my iPhone or iPad

  • Cannot delete empty folder - check the location of the element?

    CAN SOMEONE PLEASE...

I have a file left behind by an uninstall, '146-200 300 Jetliner just of flight ' folder to be precise!

After that I removed the program, the file was still in the Start Menu. So right clicked and tried to delete native mode in the start menu which will be presented with the message "unable to delete the folder. Check the location of the item... "or something in that sense.

I tried many fixes but all without success. I tried CCleaner, I tried to remove it from CMD, I tried to rename, move and merge the file with one of the same name. I also tried to reinstall the program, delete the folder with the installed program and try uninstall again to remove the folder.

Literally nothing works. The only thing I have not tried is a Disk Clean Up, simply because I don't think it will work.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Kind regards

    Ben Stratford

  • Deleting a folder of the administrator

A year ago, I bought a Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 which was returned by the previous buyer.  It is obvious that he put a locked folder administrator that contains a whole concert of the "stuff" that I want to delete as the owner of the "now" of this netbook.  Can someone help me in how to remove all evidence of this former owner and take full control of this computer?  The operating system is Windows 7 Starter.  Thank you.

    Hi Greg,

I suggest you perform a clean installation of the Windows 7 operating system, as the true owner of the laptop is that which was owner and to unlock the folder of the administrator by following the steps in the link below.

Installation and reinstallation of Windows 7:

  • Little VB program that can delete a folder using the current date

    Greetings,

I try to write a rudimentary program that will delete a file.  I'll post some pseudocode to demonstrate what I intend to achieve:

If FileFolder is < 8=""> as CurrentDate

    then delete

I looked at a few other Web sites and ran across something that seems possible to use.  I will credit the site: http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?684680-RESOLVED-Delete-files-in-folder-that-are-older-than-a-certain-date

    Private Sub Command1_Click()
Const FromFolder = "D:\seenu\from\" ' change the path
Const FilePattern = "* .log" "change the model
    Dim file As String

    File = Dir$ (FromFolder & FilePattern, vbNormal)
    Len (File) > 0 do
If Date - FileDateTime (FromFolder & file) > 60 then
    'Delete file '.
    End If
    File = Dir$)
    Loop
    End Sub

However, I'm not above trying to achieve, I don't know how tell the program to look at the date of the day of the machine and then determine anything more than 8 days before the current date should be deleted.

Once this program is completed and updated, I intend to have Task Scheduler running on a daily basis.

    Sincere greetings,

So, I just get everything from my old computer to a new computer, and now I have a bunch of additional folders and files that I can't get rid of.  I can't support, I get an error when I do this.  I can't remove them through a command prompt, it gives me the same error I get when I try to take possession or delete normally.  How can I get rid of these files?

  • Open Outlook Express, I find that all my files were deleted. Found in the trash, but can not import them. They sit in a folder as .bak files. How do I reinstate them?

Tried import - does not work.   Tried to copy and paste - does not work.

Tried import - does not work.   Tried to copy and paste - does not work.

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :

    About file Corruption:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/IE/community/columns/filecorruption.mspx

    Recovery methods:

If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

    And see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

  • I can't delete a folder. In addition, in some cases, I can't delete some files.

Using Windows Explorer (Windows XP) I can't delete a folder. (The data are not a program).

File attributes are set to "hidden files" and the folder is empty (0-byte and no files are in the folder).

In addition, the folder properties (and file) / attributes are 'read only '. When I uncheck "read only" and click OK, then look again at this, the box comes back to "read only with a check mark. (???)

When I try to delete the folder, the message says "no empty folder", and it won't delete.

Also, when I try to delete some files (in other cases) some people will not remove.

    Help, please.

The 'read only' box on issues is not what he says. ignore it.

A folder will not delete if it contains a locked file.  You will need to unlock and remove the file first.

"Some files" will not delete because they are locked - that is to say, they are in use by an application.  There is a utility called "unlocker" used to be recommended to correct this situation, but the download now includes adware that may be reported by your antivirus/antimalware dangerous application.

An 'empty' file that will not delete can be fixed if you run chkdisk.  Click Start > run and type the following command, and then click OK

    chkdisk/f

A window will open to inform you that chkdisk /f cannot be run while Windows is active and proposed to schedule a chkdisk for the next reboot.  Answer Yes and restart.  When chkdisk is complete, delete the folder.

The files that appear to be in use can be deleted by one or more of the following techniques:

    A. deleting a command prompt window.  You need to know the name of full of the file path.  For example, if you try to delete a file named test.txt that is located in a folder named Non empty folder on your desktop and your user name is NR16020, the full path name is C:\Documents and Settings\NR16020\Desktop\Non empty Folder\\test.txt

    • Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
    • Use the del for the files command and the command rd for folders.  If the full path name includes spaces, include it with double spaces.  Using the example:
      del "C:\Documents and Settings\NR16020\Desktop\Non Folder\\test.txt empty"
'C:\Documents and Settings\NR16020\Desktop\Non Folder Empty' RD

    B. remove in safe mode.  To access Safe Mode, restart the computer and repeatedly press F8 immediately after that the power on sequence is complete.  If you see the Windows logo, you waited too long and need to try again.

    C. remove from a command prompt with closed Windows Explorer.  If the procedure fails because the file is locked, follow these steps:

    • Close all running applications
    • Open the Task Manager
    • Open a command prompt window
    • In the Task Manager process tab, right-click on explorer.exe, and then select end process
    • Open the command prompt window and follow the steps listed in point A above
    • In the Task Manager, click file > new task (run...), type explorer.exe, and then click OK
  • Oh honey, I inadvertently delete an email (from the deleted items folder) that I need to keep. Is it possible to retrieve it, or is it lost forever?

I guess I didn't pay close enough attention to what I was doing.  I have deleted this email from the Inbox, he went in the deleted file, and I hit delete again before I realized I was remove the wrong message.  Is it possible to find this letter or is it really gone forever?

  • Hotmail issue - a problem when deleting the Junk email and send to delete folder

I get a lot of those Nigerian e-mails 911 lately and they are in my junk e-mail folder. I never open these emails, 'Check all' delete mailboxes and sending them to the folder to delete.

In the past two weeks, what I noticed is that somewhere in transit between the junk in the suppression file folder, these suspicious emails end in the folder delete UNBOLDED; they are regular font type.  Other ones I deleted at the same time, I know are not suspects, are characters fat as it should.

How an email that I didn't open end upwards in the folder to remove the? (as it is opened in transit to the folder to be deleted). It started only recently and I'm a little worried. It's as if it opens on the path to the folder to delete.  I know it sounds crazy, but it's true.

Can someone tell me if my account could possibly be compromised in some way?  Is it a problem that I should be concerned?

(I apologize if this is the wrong place for this post, but I had zero luck trying to ask a question on my hotmail account).

    Thank you very much.
