Windows Media Player does not recognize the .3gp file format
Original title: cannot read!
Why my Windows media player can't play 3gp format some0ne?
Hello
You will need a codec to play the file video .3gp. A codec is a software to compress or decompress a digital media file, such as a song or a video. Windows Media Player and other programs use the codec to play and create digital media files.
For more information, take a look at the link:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/codecs-frequently-asked-questions
I suggest you use your favorite search engine to download and install the codec for Windows Media player according to the type of file you are trying to read.

I'm looking to burn .avi files that I found in the torrent files downloaded using utorrent on a DVD + R disc. I noticed in several forums that most of the people seem to have problems in windows media player. Someone mentioned a program in Windows Vista that could be used, but I'm still in the stone age with Windows XP. I took some advice and downloaded a program called ConvertXToDVD, but I don't know what to convert .avi files to in order to burn properly and play on a standard DVD player.
Any advice would be helpful.

Media Player does not play the .m4a file
I just want to know why my player will not play a file. The file says it's a media player .m4a... I tried to download a recent version of the player, but he said that I had a newer version of it and it wouldn't download. So if I have a new or updated version of the player, why used it play the file?
Windows Media Player uses the codecs to understand file formats. A codec is software that includes a particular file format. You will need to install a codec.
If you click Help on the Web in the dialog box it would have been explained to you.
Also if you let Windows search for the appropriate program when dbl clicking the file it'll tell you what it is and what it can play.

Apple's QuickTime player should also be able to play.

All of a sudden my pictures folders are now all show in Windows Media Player and I can't open each photo in full screen, but only in the video display mode. When I go to my pictures and choose view as thumbnails, that's fine, but when I click on the individual photo, it shows on the screen no video not in mode full screen and I can't move the photo to the photo without closing the video screen. How can I get my pictures on Windows Media Player?
This problem has now been resolved. I went in my computer > tools > Folder Options > file Type, select the type of file and clicked on advanced then > change and changed back to Windows Picture and Fax Viewer in Windows Media Player. I had the idea of a response posted on this forum about a different issue, but who pointed me in the right direction.

I copied the 2 files to a DVD movie and he changed the .m2ts file format and it is not supported by Windows Media Player. How to convert files in a file type supported?
Hello
The files have already been burned on a DVD and therefore cannot be converted. However, you can download and install third-party codecs to play .m2ts files.

However, Windows Media Player provides support for the most common media file types. The type of file you are trying to play on media player is not supported by the media player. Hi michealarthur,
Here are a few things to try:
1. make sure that the disc is clean.
2. Select a recording speed (write) more slow for the CD burner.
3. try a different brand of blank discs.
4. stop all other programs that are running.
5 disable any programs that could activate themselves, while burning is in progress, such as screensavers or anti-virus programs.
6. defragment your hard drive.
7. make sure that the hard drive does not use disk compression.

a. go to start and in the search type 'Turn Windows has or not'.
b. click on the "Turn Windows features on or off".
c. check the "media features.
d. restart the computer.
You can also try restore (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/system-restore) your computer to the final point where windows media player worked.
Or you can use the previous versions of windows media player that comes from restore points or windows backup.
Or you can try to run 'Fixit '.

How to make audio files on my download site?
Hello
In my site there are links to audio files. Then click on the links in chrome or firefox, audio files begin playing immediately. In Opera the download files. Internet Explore opens the files in windows media player. How can I make sure that when they are clicked they upload, rather than play in the browser?
The only answer that I can find, so far, zip files. I am reluctant to use this method because compress zip files and compression can do funny things to files.
Can anyone suggest anything?
Thank you
Torhorhilau
Well, this used to require a side script server.
Although I have not yet tried, the HTML 5 seems now supports an attribute of download:
http://davidwalsh.name/download-attribute
Try it and see if it works for you. I suggest to try as I'm not sure how it is currently supported in all popular browsers.
