  The idea is that it could be placed above other images so you could still see the pictures back, but it would be like they are behind the cracked glass.

  Otherwise, if not directly, there are images that match this requirement, so how would easily transform a picture of glass cracked an alpha/transparency?

  1. Desaturate the layer of glass.

  2. make two copies of the glass layer, desaturated. Disable all three eye visibility for these layers in the layers palette.

  3. turn on the first glass desaturated layer by clicking on the eye in the layers palette. First glass desaturated layer place (an image directly above) in blend mode screen. 100% opacity. If the glass has a hole, use a layer mask or erase to drill a hole in the desaturated layer. The levels command to set up the glass so to taste... use push black cursor Grays to black and use the middle gray slider in the dialog control to transition between black and white. You can also set the white slider if you wish. Note: If you have added a layer mask, click the desaturated picture glass to ensure that you use the command levels on the image, not the mask.  (Tip: shortcut on PC for levels is Ctrl + L on Mac Cmd + l.)

  Note: If you need a hole in the picture, it is easier in Normal blending mode. 100% opacity. Use the Quick Selection tool if you have a version of items that includes this tool. If you have an older version of elements before the introduction of this tool, the wand should also do the trick.

  Note: If you punched a hole in the glass, save this selection, so you can reuse it. Select

  4. go in the first copy of desaturated glass (one directly on the one you made to step #3... you should have one above it) and turn on his eyes the visibility in the layers palette.  As previously, the value this screen blend mode layer: 100% opacity. Hide or delete so this layer effect will be limited at the edge of the hole and some of the glass around the edge. Use the levels command to adjust the contrast around the hole. You should concentrate on the white slider and the edges medium gray to make the hole look correct.

  Note: To make it easy on myself, I have used Select

  5. Optional: go to the latest copy of desaturated glass (this must be on top of your pile of palette layers.) and turn on the eye of this layer. Change the blending mode of this layer to soft light blending mode and adjust the opacity to your liking.

  
  Above shows my layers using Photoshop. In the elements, layers will be the same, although your UI will be different. If you have PSE 9, you can use layer masks as I... see PSE9 layer mask video link I linked below.

  If you don't have a PES 9, you can either use the eraser to delete what you don't need or use a clipping mask or clipping group. (Same thing another name.) PSE 8 and 9 PES call it a clipping mask while all older versions of elements called it a clipping group.

  You can also use Photoshop brushes and little white paint. Search for brushes that are high resolution, pixel large size... like the smaller brush sizes will be blurred if you have their measure.   I have a HP Envy23-d119, but high frontal glass right was smushed/cracked during transportation to the unit. Right now, the crack don't get is not propagated to the area of the touch screen, but I would like to know if such a crack spreads to the area of the touch screen in the next few days and if so, will it cause problems to the touchscreen?

  This phone is a bit fragile.  I had it in my back pocket.  Takes place and here is the result.

  

  Anyone know where I can get a replacement of the rear window?  I love the phone, but I really want it fixed.

  Just got the phone with the support of Sony, is off since I was in the USA, sony offers no service on this phone.  The glass used, is strong and cut.  This certainly isn't a phone friendly kid and most certainly not be used as any what casual phone daily.  If you forget it in your Pocket back when you sit, it will break the rear window.

  This is the second phone of sony, which is destroyed in my pocket in 3 months.  I guess I have to go back to HTC.

  Have you not taken / Web sites that offer insurance gadget in the United States? Nothing to do with the warranty of the phone. External insurance coverage for your phone, no matter where you bought it. Well, because for a long time it is from a reputable company and you have proof of purchase.

  If I have a question outside the warranty company and I just put a claim with my insurance company and they deal with it 14 days return. I just have to pay the excess. They will send the phone for repair.

  I find staggering because a phone is not sold here have no return. Rating 5 from Samsung is not readily available here, but there is no problem with insurance and getting it replaced or repaired.

  So in November I took a bad fall on a track and Dope the concrete sidewalk with my brand new 6. Remarkably, the screen is not broken out. My glass screen protector had cracks, but the lower left corner of the bent case metal on a little bit. It seems like a lot, but the phone still worked perfect afterwards so it was never a big deal. The metal itself is folded and the black plastic of the screen pops out about a millimeter. Although about 15 minutes ago, my phone is broken and fell off my bed. There screen still works perfectly well and my protective screen has not burst somehow then the cracked glass is contained. I do not think that the LCD needs to be replaced, just the glass (there are a few yellow spots on the screen).

  My question is whether or not the folded case will be the effect replacing the screen. From what I've seen Apple will be very probably deny it and get me to buy a new phone. You all guess how a third party would react?

  I have one hot pro. The front screen is cracked (glass only not LCD). Anyone know if it is possible to have this problem? Or if not where can I buy a replacement scanner to fit me?

  I looked on ebay and amazon but you can't see scanners for the Pure template - would this work on the pro at all.

  Excite Pro (AT10LE-A) and seems to excite Pure (AT10-A-104) in support of the same size of 10.1 screen but I don't very well if the two supports exactly the same digitizer of m.

  However, I found a www.realviewlcd.com page where that digitizer for AT10LE-A could be ordered.

My problem is that I can't find a straight line to the top of the spare part to swap on the old cracked glass. Any help finding one would be great. Otherwise, I found the digitizer for a U350 that looks identical dimensions; would it not possible to use instead?

The Panel is still intact outside a few shallow chips and I would have thought that there are other layers below the surface to protect the internal parts of the phone, but I just want to be sure that I know if I must now be careful around water with the appliance or not.

• R51: Cracked base, stained glass panel LCD, very bad underwriting experience

  I recently sent my laptop for repair Flextronic (Solectron) for a problem with my LCD. On the screen LCD, about 50 grey dots appeared near the Center. They were not dead but pixels spots on the back of the Panel. Before you send the laptop, I checked it and found a crack near the left hinge. I'm on this R51 like a baby and it is in perfect condition with no mark or scratch on it. I noticed the hinge was loose for a few months, but I never checked the cause of this. Now, on the crack, what I noticed is that he depart when I lift the lid and it remains extended as long as the lid is raised. The hinge clearly pushed on the plastic and I am 100% sure that this is what caused this crack. I got a call two weeks after receipt of my laptop in the repair center. They said that they would replace the LCD, but they would charge me $140 to replace the base... I fight with them since to get this base replaced under warranty. I paid for a 3 years guarantee of the site and they don't even offer me the on site service I paid for... I've been without my phone for 3 weeks now and I find it very frustrating.

• Who should I talk to? -Cracked rear, curved screen

  I have a Z3 Compact.

  The façade has lifted off and there several long cracks on the back.

  After speaking to someone in the phone shop, I said that it is a common fault with this phone (due to swelling of the battery?)
  And that I should talk to Sony.

  I sent a tweet to Xperia, they told me to contact Sony via a link that led here.

  But the e-mail on the support page button does not work and all I can find is "turn it and turns off again", "reset the device.

  Where am I supposed to go? Whereas a major feature of this phone is being impermeable to water, a screen loose and back Cove are pretty critical mistakes!

  Any ideas? (I'm in the United Kingdom)
