  • Film shot in Windows Movie Maker crashes after 6 seconds during playback in Windows Media Player

I have a film created (1 minute, 20 seconds) in Windows Movie Maker of two short videos to YouTube.  The original files were .mp4 files and I converted the .wmv files.  I cut 7 seconds since the start of the first video and just linked the two original videos into one.  No special effects.  Plays well in Windows Movie Maker.  Save the file as an .mswmm file (required by Movie Maker) and then published as a .wmv.  When I play it in Windows Media Player, he plays for 6 seconds, then freezes, but the bottom bar is moving, as if he is playing.  I tried to do the same thing without clipping 7 seconds from the beginning - same result.  I used WINFF (free Converter).  Any ideas?  Thanks for your help.

    Hello RachelPierce,

    1. what happens when you try to play the files with Windows Movie Maker?

This problem can be caused by codecs supporting not the file that you created. If you use a converter, I suggest that you convert the files to MPEG format and verify if you are able to play the files.

  • Problem with power settings during the opening of Windows Media Player 12

Original title: power options Windows Media Player Exchange

WMP 12 of opening causes the power option for monitor turn-off time to return even if the time is 2 hours 15 minutes. Tried to reset the value, value save, all electrical energy plans by making the same, nothing is done.  Other set values, for example disk hard turn off (never set) will be defined and stay together.  Would have someone seen this kind of thing?   Operating system is Win7 Professional 32-bit.  All available updates have been installed.

    Hi Jim,.

Please contact Microsoft Community. I understand that you have a problem with the power settings when opening Windows Media Player 12. I've surely you will help solve this problem.

To better understand the issue, I would need more information on your side.

    1. The problem only occurs when Windows Media Player is opened?
    2. Did you the latest changes on the computer before this problem?

This problem might have occurred because of these reasons:
    1. incorrect power settings.
    2 conflict between third-party applications.

I suggest you try the steps listed here and check if it helps:

    Method 1:
Run Troubleshooter of power that will check if the basic power settings are set properly or not.

    Open the troubleshooter of power
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-power-Troubleshooter

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, restore to the default settings for power management. Check if it helps.

Note: try the following steps only if you have not tried before.

    Step 1:

To restore to the default settings power management, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start.
    2. In the search programs and files box, type cmd.
    3. Right click on CMDand then click run as administrator.
    4. At the command prompt, type powercfg - restoredefaultschemesand then press ENTER.
    5. At the command prompt, type exit to exit the command prompt.
    6. Restart the computer.

    Step 2:

Once the plan of power reset by default, you can create a new power plan and the same customize according to your needs.

    Power plans: frequently asked questions
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/power-plans-FAQ#1TC=Windows-7

    Method 3:
If the problem persists, set up the computer in a clean boot state, and check if that helps. Setting the system in a clean boot state will help you determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

Note:  After the clean boot troubleshooting steps, see the "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" section in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Hope this information helps. Reply to the post with an up-to-date report of the issue so that we can help you further.

  • Error Message - Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection

I received the following message when trying to play a DVD:Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD drive decoder and video card protection. Try to install a driver available for your video card. I'm confused that nothing has been changed, added, or updated my system up-to-date. I am running Windows 7 Premium home 64-bit edition. DVD plays fine on my laptop with the same operating system.

    CORRECTION OF THE PROBLEM.

I can confirm that it is a matter of the DVD CSS protection. MediaPlayer, being unable to decrypt the DVD protection.

Googled around for "DVD43". The installation program will install a driver that will successfully decrypt DVD protection and will allow you to PLAY the DVD MOVIE ONCE AGAIN!

Well, that's an alternative. All what I can say is that Microsoft Media Player is broken!
  • Receive the message error "Windows Media Player cannot extract one or more tracks from the CD"

Original title: Windows Media Player 12 in Windows 8 - will not tear, will not allow rip parameter changes

Recently started Windows Media Player displays this error message when I tried to rip CDs: "Windows Media Player cannot extract one or more tracks from the CD." When I checked the rip settings, I found that no location has been chosen, even if I had chosen a location when I first set up WMP over a year ago. When I clicked on the "Change location" button, nothing happened, so I'm not able to choose a file location. I downloaded and Fix It (http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows-media-player-diagnostic-Windows-8/en-us) from Microsoft allows WMP and the library, hoping this would solve the problem, but the problem persists. After that, I also found that none of the rip settings can be changed, not only the location of the file. I get an error message that "ripping settings could not be applied" when I try to change anything on the tab music Rip under Options. I found a support of forum responses that mention a registry fix but does not provide any details on how to achieve this. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Were there any changes (hardware or software) to the computer before the show?

Ripping allows you to put the titles of your audio CD on your PC. When you rip the tracks, they become digital files on your PC.

There are two places in the Player library where you can customize your settings and better to make ripping work:

    • In the Rip settings menu (with less choice customization).

    • In the Options dialog box (with several choices of customization).

Method 1: run the tool library, Windows Media Player and Windows Media Player settings and check if the extraction is possible.

    Step 1:

a: press the logo Windows + O to open the search box.
    b: Type Troubleshooting, press ENTER.

    c: now, click on programs.

d: and then click Windows Media Player  library.

    Step 2:

a: press the logo Windows + O to open the search box.
    b: Type Troubleshooting, press ENTER.

    c: now, click on programs.

d: and then click Windows Media settings.

Method 2: Perform the steps from the link below and see if it helps.
