  There is no way to install something now and do go back and tell you if yes or no files have been copied in the past.  It is rather likely, there are utilities that you can install now that that will follow for you by the departure, but having never been to this market, I can't say with certainty.  Search Bing or Google find these software fairly quickly if there is.
