In previous versions of the CVI, use OpenFile with no path intended to look into the local path (i.e. the installation directory). Is there a way to do this in 2013 CVI?

I use an .ini file to allow users to change the preferneces for starting the program. In the past, this file has lived in the installation directory and OpenFile could find the file cheerfully and apply preferences. In CVI 2013, the program seems to need an implicit path to the file. Is there a way to get around this?

I use not yet CVI2013, but in any case, you can build up to a full path of a file in the folder of the application using the GetProjectDir and MakePathname commands when running.

    I was told that movies in the iTunes Store can be changed to include "iTunes Extras" if originally it did not come with extras. But there is a catch you get just the extras if you buy just the issue for the first time. If you have already purchased it, your version may not have the extras. This means that if you want the extras, buy the movie again.

    Hmm, Milot, why change the top instead of optimized to drag a quality which is the default setting in CP8? And why to substitute the quality of the blade in the preferences, if it is already set to high? I would like to know the reason, always eager to learn. I know that sometimes high leads to reduce the size of the file, but did not know that there has been better.

    My advice would have been to uncheck all the Compression settings in the preferences, size and quality. And I would like to know if the project has been recalibrated, if images have been resized.

    I am relatively sure, the answer is no. The way I understand it, a restore point essentially allows to fall back to a previous snapshot of your control panel (in the case, a program or an OS update goes south), without affecting your real e-mails, documents, etc.

    Without a backup of actual file any ongoing enforcement, I think the OP is pretty much out of luck here.

    I wrote two LabVIEW applications. The first acquires data from three different devices, displays the data and writes it to a file. The second application reads the data and displays it on the screen.

    Can I install the first application and run it, but I can only install the second application if I uninstall the first application.

    Any ideas as to why this is happening?

    You install applications by using a Setup program created with the application builder to LV?

    What LV version do you use?

    You have a dedicated for each installer build script, or do you still want to change the settings of a single build script (which would be a reason for this behavior!)?

  • My edited icon does not replace the previous version on the desktop

    I use CVI 7.0 on Windows XP. I used CVI icon editor to create an icon 32 x 32 for my application. The target parameters build cutting edge of window to file icon and displays correctly. I also created a group of files in the window of Distribution Kit and the group contains only the .exe with the option to create shortcuts on the desktop. I build dist kit and install it, him and everything is fine. The icon appears on the desktop and launches the application.

    The problem is when I change the icon file. The modified version appears in the settings of the target (great so far), but when I have the dist of rebuilding kit and install it, the old desktop icon is not replaced by the new although the old icon still launches the latest version of the app. I have not changed the GUID between generations, so running setup.exe kit dist first deletes the previous version of the application and its icon on the desktop. The second round of setup.exe installs the new version of app but the old icon.

    If I change the name of the icon file every time then the correct icon appears on the desktop. However I prefer to use a generic icon for each version file name. It of like CVI or Windows associates the first version of an app icon and remembers that the association is updated using a different icon file name.

    So the question is, how can I make sure that the latest version of the icon appears on the desktop do not have to change the file name each time?

    I got a solution to nickb. This can be found at http://decibel.ni.com/content/message/8480#8480. I'm new to these forums, so I don't know why it seems to be in a different for your response area, unless somehow I posted the original question in two areas. In any case, in case there is something wrong with the link, the solution is to delete the cvibuild. Directory and then recompile the project. I found more than remove the resources.res file was sufficient. As I said to nickb, it would be good if CVI deleted this directory automatically to ensure a clean build each time.

    I've upgraded to version 10.3.1.1767 OS and now my company IM no longer works.  No one knows when this will be fixed to Blackberry?  If not, anyone know how I can go back to the previous version of the operating system.  I don't have to worry about losing any information or data that I'm on a company server and I do not save anything on my Blackberry.  Please help - my support is apparantely waiting for Blackberry provide that a fix for this problem and God knows how long it will take.

    There are other alternatives, but they depend on some things...

    If you used the "automatic" methods to perform the update, this process may well have led to a corruption that is the cause (many related things). Or the version you have installed may well have this fault (many report these).

    In any cause, the thing to do is to reload your operating system properly and see if that clears up the problem. Or, update to the really newer version and see if that clears it. The method that I recommend for your situation is autoloader... refer:

    With automatic charger, you can install any OS you can find a valid automatic charger, since regardless cases your carrier has approved or not. You can also use the ADF to return to any level of 'work' OS you want. But, honestly, I recommend you use an auto-loader to install the most recent version, then see if things clear up - if not, then use another automatic charger to retreat.

    I updated by mistake the old version of the Muse on the newest one. Can I get the previous version?

    Muse uses a system of 'support' to retreat safely to the previous version, while the loading and synchronization (in the case where something happens during this action). And just before that process ends, it quickly converts the entire site to the new version by changing just a single file of 'manifesto' . Maybe you can trace remnants of this process when you view directories on the server using an FTP application. But then again, it requires some wizardry coding to restore these old files or fragments, in the newer version, you put online. I think that's not worth a try...

    Back in March reported you an error "XML parser failure" during the open, and it seems that the report was never addressed. This error is caused by damage within a .muse file that will require further investigation. Go back to a previous version of Muse will not fix the problem. When you are working with an older version of Muse and do not encounter the error, it was simply because you had not yet worked the file share where the damage. When a file is updated to a newer version of Muse, the entire file is read and written. Paving in a newer version the problem immediately.
