PC XP very slow opening files on network 2003-2008 since 7 days ago
Since Wednesday last (06/29/11) all the xp pro pc on our network takes forever to download files. the network has 4 servers 2003 r2 and 2008 r2. You can navigate without problems, but when you download for example a 300 KB word doc it will take 5-10 minutes.
On a windows pc 7, it is as fast as its always been.
Nothing has changed the wise configuration, but servers are installed to automatically download patches and it seems to have happened Tuesday / Wednesday last week.
Sure that's not SMB2 Preety causing the problem, maybe a patch for the network protocol?

Trying to solve the problem, I have repaired the Mac HD, emptied all my caches in the library in the Finder, reset the PRAM and am now ideas.
Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in the Preferenes system, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolate a problem by using a different user account
If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account. Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

- Go to Lightroom > Preferences.
- Also please go to preferences > Performance tab and uncheck the box "use graphics processor.
- Restart Lightroom and see if it works.
- Please make sure you also update of Lightroom to the latest version, which is 6.3 Lightroom

In the 14 elements - everything works fine until I hit the TEXT tool "T". Then the program hangs and I have to use the TASK MANAGER to close it. I bought a Satellite Pro U300 in February 2008 and I only use it 3 - 4 times since then... It is very slow at the opening of the programs (I have only one statistical program installed) and Web pages and creates problems when I try to download other programs that have a different version of Windows Vista.
I really regretted buying this phone and I'm looking for someone to sell.Until I do, I was wondering if I could uninstall Windows Vista and install Windows XP for example, or do anything else that would make my phone fun to use.

As far as I know that a corrupt registry would cripple the system at a dead stop; It would not just start. Try to restore system using System Restore (preferably an hour before when you had an update). You can also run an application called Malwarebytes (www.malwarebytes.org) to see if you have malicious software that could be the cause of the problem.

Sounds to me like your account is corrupted. I make a new account, drag your files on another, and then remove the broken account.
You can drag the files to the new account by opening the folder C:\Users.

I used the same setup file, but on 1 pc, the "Open new tab" button is available in the menu 'Customize toolbar' and can be dragged and drop on the navigation bar. On the other pc, the "Open new tab" button/icon is not yet available for drag / drop. I uninstalled firefox completely, including the settings and preferences, then reinstalled, but that has not fixed the missing button.

Please try to restore the default value in the Customize... window. If it is still not visible, one of the reasons could be that the button is already placed on the toolbar, but can be hidden behind a different icon or toolbar.
