• At the battle of the still chapter markers

  Hello!

  I spent the last 4 hours trying to get the AE still chapter markers. Nothing seems to work. I tried the two markers of model and benchmark layer, with the text and numbers in almost all areas. I tried the AVi and Quicktime containers as my export format. But nothing that I do not seem to bring my markers yet as chapters.

  The only way it works is if I use Dynamic Link, but DL is far too slow for this project because my AE stuff has so much on in there. So I really need to export an intermediate EI file.

  Someone at - it successfully exported a video file from After effects to still with marks of layer AE transformed into chapter marks still? I certainly have no chance with this process ;/

  Who has never worked? I know for sure that it works with my HDV / DV captured view first (on PC), but I think remember me endless discussions about it being broken for the rest. So this may be a hopeless case, after all. What you could try as a detour is to use Soundbooth and generate a dummy audio file with markers, that AE so much still to recognize correctly, but you will have to bite the bullet and put markers of tha manually into the still of otehrwise...

• Seeing no chapter markers in Encore CS6.

  I created Chapter (not the generic markers) in first Pro CC markers, and given each of them the names (no comment), that I confirmed arise as hover text in the timeline of the PrP.  Now, when I tried to export a simple sequence with this chapter, as MPEG-2/DVD markers, make chapter markers appear when I "import calendar" in Encore CS6.  However, when I export my whole project, which nested sequences (not sure if it matters), the base clips which have chapter markers... I have him not see my chapter markers in Encore.  What is a limit?  I mean, in the PrP chapter markers must be set to the shallower (less nested) level of the timeline to export?

  I looked around forums some, and what little I found spans a few versions of again, with some changes to the UI complications.  One, in Encore CS4, advised the "make sure you have 'Include Source XMP data' selected,'... but I can't find such an option (in my most recent software).  The closest thing is the button of "metadata" at the bottom of the Adobe Media Encoder, which opens a panel with a drop down (top-left) to "export options", including "Create file" or "embed in the output file. Unfortunately, the latter is gray.  I understand that certain types of format do not xmp data to be shipped, but I thought that MPEG-2/DVD enabled him.  Nevertheless, the online tutorials I found say that Encore CS6 is smart enough to pick the file with data xmp (chapter markers).  With this in mind, I was careful to not rename or move the file .xmp of which created Adobe Media Encoder.

  It seems that the problem is nested sequences.

  Fix. Markers are only exported to the exported sequence.

  is there any fix that doesn't involve respotting and retype it all markers from ~ 40 to the timeline root manually?

  Not that I know of.

  I want to burn a DVD of a Final Cut Pro video.  How can I import in again and still get the chapter markers?

  As far as I know, there is no interoperability between still (and program from Adobe) and FCP (Apple program)

• Chapter in the wrong places markers

  I'm having the same problem, such as reported on October 29, 2013 (no response).

  I've implemented the sequence in 2015 CC PremPro and do still CS6 via Media Encoder (Format MPEG2 Blu - ray, Preset HD 1080i 25). The markers in the panel mounting still can not be moved from one frame at a time, but skip a fixed amount of images, it is impossible to have a defined benchmark exactly at the point of transition between two clips.

  1. If there is a known bug, is there a way to bypass?

  2. it seems to me (and I could be wrong here) that still doesn't have a lot of users, these days. Is there another app that I could use to produce DVD and Blu - ray discs?

  Chapter markers are to fall on one I frame, they are usually on every 12 frames in a stream Mpeg 2. If the markers are made first before export Mpeg 2 and extra that I frame will be produced to the cue point, so they should be accurate.

• Sequences can inherit the nested sequences chapter markers?

  I am in my project of edition about 2 hours of video. For that things remain manageable and being able to do fast makes it partial, I have divided the project into several parts. Each part is edited in a clean sequence. Finally I combine parts by adding them in the form of sequences embedded in my master sequence. The problem with this approach is that I can't get the creation to inherit the nested sequences chapter markers. For example, in my 03 sequence, I put a chapter marker.

  

  When I put this sequence in my master sequence, chapter markers will not appear and it is also not be counted when I export the main movie to a DVD:

  

  I could of course place the markers on the main sequence, but I would rather their place in the sequence of the child for two reasons:

  • Markers and edited scenes would be in one place.
  • If I choose to re - edit some parts of the sequence, I won't forget to update the position of the mark.

  I'd love to hear your ideas on how I could do this. If my work flow is poor/ineffective, I'd love to hear about that, too

  You can do all your editing in different sequences and bring them a master.

  But I leave the markers to the end of the Master.

• Generate the table of contents with chapter markers?

  It has been a while since I had to install and create a table of contents for a long document of single file, but I'm sure that I created TOCs in this way in the past. Then, why the text in the Section markers will appear in the table of contents? It is even possible to generate a table of contents that contains text of article marker?

  I use InDesign CS5 in Windows. I have a file single document I'm trying to generate a table of contents for. I designed a 16-page manual in an inDesign file that includes a cover page, table of contents page and seven "chapters."

  I created a separate section for each 'chapter' and used Chapter markers in the top of the page master for chapter names. It's something I did in the past of syntactically long documents containing several chapters.

  I put the first page of each 'chapter' as a new Section on the Pages panel. In numbering and Section Options for each page, I checked the Section getting started, Automatic Page numbering, the Style of Page numbering: 1,2,3,4... and in Section marker: I put the name of 'chapter' in the text box.

  

  I've set up paragraph and character Styles and has used throughout my document. When I put in place the table of contents I created everything correctly, including a heading style that I used for all the sub lines in my file and my style of Section marker for chapter names.

  

  When I insert the table of contents, generate headers sub with their page numbers, but the titles of the chapters which are chapter markers do not generate. Am I missing something or is it still possible to enter the text of chapter markers in a table of contents? I'm sure that he's worked in the past. Can anyone offer a solution for this?

  Looks like the markers section present only in the table of contents if they are on a document page. Try manually to the substitution of the frame.

  My solution, which is a little better than any other manual method, is to Ctrl-Arrow for each marker still / sequence, select an item and adds an element brand. Adjust the sequence according to your needs, then do the reverse. Most of my chapters occur at the beginning of a clip, is not as bad as it sounds.

  But a ripple setting for brands of sequence/yet? A very good idea.

• Can automatic repositioning of the chapter markers still after removal of ripple?

  I need to break up a sequence of 4 hours in two short to 2 dvds. However, I already scored all the chapters. Duplicate this long sequence and ripple delete the first half to make the 2nd sequence to dvd. However, the chapter marks still has not moved the removal of ripple. Is it possible to attach these markers at certain place of video clips, so I can't move them when I change the length of the sequence?

  Chapter markers are related to the timeline and not not the Clips on the Timeline.

  If they have been applied, and Clips are then modified, you manually reposition.

  PS - Clip markers would be linked to the Clips, but they do not act as chapter markers. Many have filed a feature request to have chapter markers have a toggle button to fix either them the timeline or Clips.

• Choose the single chapter or chapters - disk space?

  I use iLife 08 - iDVD 08 and responsible for some older models as well. I have a 95 minutes, (burn single face) piece, which looks nice using the 'professional framework. Currently its a long chapter about 95 minutes long.

  I know I can break up the longest play in several chapters of void and put them on the menu, (it is no problem). What worries me is if I have enough disk space, (keep a burn single sided), to include 'Play a whole movie', in addition to including the sup chapters? If its mathematically adding the length of the total room for smaller pieces, no I don't think that will work? It seems, the total length will become prohibitive for a burn single sided. And BTW, all movie clips are exported "referenced files" and not "independent".

  By keeping the side burn 'one' (duration: 95 minutes), I think my options are:

  Stay with a long piece, or use 'DVD Studio Pro' which would require some time long tutorial...

  Any other ideas?

  Where the 95 minute clip of?

  You can add chapter markers to a given interval with iDVD, i.e. at intervals of 5 or 10 minutes to your current project without having to exceed the 95 minute playing time available to you.

  1 - Select the movie from the main menu

  

  2 - Select the menu option Advanced ➙ create markers chapter for the film .

  

  3 - Select the time interval for the chapters.

  

  4. double click the movie button in the main menu to get this submenu:

  

  5. double click on the scene selection button to get the chapters:

  

  The downside to this is that you can choose a time interval and not a specific point in the movie for the marker.

  Otherwise, import the movie into iMovie or some film editing app that you use and add the markers where you want there.

  

• Restore the iPad App via Time Machine?

  Let's see if I can explain it clearly without writing a novel...

  We used iBank on a series of iPads in Quicken replacement.  iBank was wonderful.

  A few days ago, we decided to accept the upgrade to the new version of the App.  The upgrade has changed the name of the application of Banktivity 5.0.3.

  After the update the app is more responsible, is back with ' an error occurred during the migration of permanent storage' and when we hit OK you get the spinning wheel of death, eternally.  Fearing yet another Apple HW question I made the mistake to immediately an iPad manual backup because I did not know when the last of them automatic was and I didn't lose anything else on the iPad.

  The iPad is running 9.3.1 model number MD516LL/a H/W.

  We have iTunes to save 'automatically' iPad 'to this computer.  We do not use the cloud.

  I had an exchange of mail with the support of the IGG, but when we walked in the restoration of a previous automatic backup on the iPad, they were out of their depth.  I have no complaint with their support, they do not know where are stored the backups or how to proceed.

  So, that's where it gets interesting/frustrating.

  I try to use Time Machine to restore the App from a previous version in iTunes and then sync to iPad.

  I do not see the backup files to iPad specific laptop I use for backup "automatic" iTunes "to this computer.  I see the list of applications on the iPad iTunes in the ' users > Shared > iTunes > directory of Mobile Applications.  I'm going back in time in Time Machine to find the last backup the previous version of iBank has or Banktivity iTunes before 5.0.3... in the hopes of restoring just that specific app and data...

  ... Previous Time Machine backups have iBank or Banktivity listed in the applications!  I have looked far and sought to my heart's content, but none are here.  All other applications will appear in the list, but not iBank or Banktivity.  Now, I'm stumped... Why would not appear anywhere in the last backups?

  Having lost all historical and current in the iBank data are a pretty big disaster if I don't want to take the risk of ruining more by doing a partial or full restore iPad without understanding why the previous of iBank versions and/or Banktivity do not appear in the lists before the last manual of Time Machine backup?

  The iPad is an ideas, thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated.

  Real applications are not stored in the backup (which contains the content of applications, your settings, documents, photos etc), restoration (backups are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/on a Mac, a backup is not designed to be readable by the user) would look to pick up the application of the section My Apps from your iTunes library - so looking for a old backup iPad in Time Machine won't help your find the app.

  As to why the app does not appear in your Time Machine backup of your folder "Mobile Applications", looking for the correct name of the application (the name that shows in your iTunes Apps my chapter cannot be the same as the file real .ipa computer/time Machine; some of my friends have very different names)?

  My mini Ipad was synced with my mac I erase and sold. I have all my photos on my ipad but not in Icloud. (30 GB of photos) Is there a way I can recover the pictures?

  If I click on synchronize with Icloud will it delete all my photos and keep only about 5 GB, which was my old storage (I have now 200 GB)

  In short, the only device where I have my pictures is my mini Ipad... any ideas? Is there something to send to Icloud?

  Your photos have been synced to your iPad via iTunes sync Photo as described here: Sync photos to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch in iTunes - Apple Support ?

  Photo sync iTunes is only oneway.  You can get photos of the iPad, but photos will not be saved to the camera roll, and therefore, you cannot download them to a computer. If you want to do something with the photos on the iPad, copy and save copies on film. Then you can change them or share them or download them to a computer.

• Mocha & Keylight: problems with a greenscreen on the iPad

  Currently, I am doing my first project with an iPad (and TV) greenscreen. But I have some problems with the turbulent film.

  In the first picture you can see the path on the iPad with Mocha. Everything's moving really well in the final result (see second photo). But there is a lot of green left in the face of the person and around the screen that I need to get rid of.

  So my first question: How can I get rid of these green diffuse borders around the screen and green face?

  I tried several effects masking including keylight etc - nothing has worked. Either the green of the plants around dissappeared or it looked really sharp. Is the only possibility help move masks? Or is there a more accurate method?

  Second question: How can I isolate the greenscreen hand while interacting 'above' of the iPad? I have a few sequences where the hand of the person interacts on the (green) screen. So I need to get the screen behind the hand that everything is moving :-/ Is this possible?

  You will need an image quite high contrast black and white face of Grandma with glasses on front Sockets. If this is not possible try to find one.

  Superimpose the black-and-white image on the screen of the ipad and, if there is a motion on the ipad, then you'll have to animate a motion on the filtered photo. Something like this series to be a 3D layer with the blending mode set to screen and the opacity adjusted. You are also likely to warp the image and blur, perhaps a little more.

  This needs a lot of work with the scale and distortion and should probably be anime, but you get the idea.

• Help with the Playlists/chapter Playlists

  I use Encore CS4 and don't know which use - playlists or chapter playlists.

  I have a unique calendar that I added 12 chapter markers in Encore.  I also have a main menu which has a choice to 'play together', and then a button that

  is "extra".  The 'extra' button goes to a submenu.  The submenu has 12 keys.  What I would like is to have the game all to play all the

  video and each of the boxes 12 submenu to play only the chapter, then return to the submenu.  How could I go about this?

  This just sums up, I think, just what Bill and Stan said:

  1. in the project window, click the Schedule tab and select the timeline there. This will bring up all the chapters in the window below. Select all chapters at the same time...
  2. go in the properties and override set to none.
  3. set action of late votes to zero.
  4. then unselect buttons, go back to the timeline and select it and set the end action of timeline to return to the main menu.
  5. and then return to the project window and create a playlist of chapter for each of the chapters, so you should have 17 Chapter playlists each with only one chapter in it.
  6. set the action of the end of each playlist "chapter" to return to the menu where it comes from.
  7 in the first menu, "bind" the play button all at the timeline.
  8 then in the submenu link each button to the appropriate chapter playlist.

  As the person in this link wanted 17 chapters, 17 has been recommended, but you must use the number of chapters, you have (13).
