In the last Firefox where 'browser.download.panel.removeFinishedDownloads' no longer exists, how it automatically erase only the download history

In the light of the latest Firefox and the fact that he's not listening my download affected the retention setting and that 'browser.download.panel.removeFinishedDownloads' no longer exists, how can I clear history of downloads automatically after each download without clearing the browser history too? If this isn't an option it's a serious bug or an important feature removed. If the problem persists, it is a big reason for me to stop using firefox. Really guys! Why?

Thank you for your question regarding research changes in Firefox. There was a lot of good news, and we are happy to help you.

    What has changed?

In the United States and the Canada, the default search engine has changed from Google to Yahoo. In Russia, Search Yandex will become the search by default, and in China, Baidu will continue to be the default search. However, all the other search engines will be always available in these regions. You will notice this change in Firefox 34.

  • How can I close only 1 session, without closing all sessions, when you run several at the same time?

I run normally 2 sessions of Firefox. Currently I have 3 sessions running. How can I close only 1 session without closing all? When I choose "File" and then "Exit", all sessions nearby.

Firefox does not work more 'sessions', you see several windows running in the same process. IE runs each window in its ' own process and Chrome runs each tab in its' own process, but Firefox running in a single process.

Do not use file > outputis to completely close Firefox, do not close the window you are looking at when you use this command. There was formerly a command to close this window on the file menu, but who took a few versions ago. You will need to use the X in the upper right of the window to close this window and leave the other open windows. Or you can use {Ctrl + Maj + W} close the window that is to the point (where you look).

  • "The selected task... no longer exists" for almost all tasks (Win7)

I opened the Task Scheduler in Windows 7 the other day and received dozens of separate messages, telling me that the tasks no longer existed. This included not only those that I created myself, but also for programs installed and crucial tasks of Windows System. The Scheduler is running and knows the names of tasks, such as confirmed by the command line.

I looked at the entrance to register TaskCache and it seems that only 4 tasks remain in it - a random selection that includes one of McAfee, two Google Update and Windows Defender. No other tasks that have xml files in the task (C:\Windows\System32\Tasks) folder are listed.

I read that these errors can be resolved by emptying the jobs directory of all files except those appearing in the registry and then re-import all the. I tried this for a single task that I created myself, and it succeeded. The fact for all tasks would take a very long time, but there is another problem: the Windows themselves tasks do not appear in the registry and I can't move or delete the Windows subdirectory under the task (C:\Windows\System32\Tasks\Microsoft\Windows) folder, even when I start a cmd as administrator session.

Any suggestions or advice welcome. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Important: problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: How do I back up and restore the registry in Windows

In addition, it seems that you use several security software. Windows Defender is automatically disabled when using any 3rd party security software. Thus, the problem you are having, could be due to a conflict between the 3rd party software.

Step 1: Therefore, I first suggest you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if the same behaviour arises.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Place your system in the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.

Step 2: Please refer to the suggestions in the help of TechNet support to solve problems in Task Scheduler.

    Troubleshooting Task Scheduler

Step 3: Run the System File Checker tool

System File Checker is a Windows utility that allows users to find corruptions in Windows system files and restore the damaged files.

Press the Windows key + X , and then click prompt (Admin)

Type the following command and press enter

    sfc/scannow

Note: Do not close the command prompt window until the audit is completed 100%. The results of the analysis will be posted when this process is complete.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

  • browser.download.useToolkitUI true on the subject: config for aging download Panel does NOT work. How can I get that back?

    Firefox 26:
The fix turn browser.download.useToolkitUI true subject: config does not work. How can I get rid of the crap from the library and retrieve my download Panel?

The downloads window went into Firefox 26. The preference of browser.download.usetoolkitui has been removed. If you still see in Subject: config, it is because you have already customized its value. Right-click and choose reset; It will be gone the next time you start Firefox.

I believe that the plan was still in the window replacement of downloads with the downloads Panel and the library category. Given that its code had not been maintained, he had several questions, such as incompatibility with private per-window.

If you have any suggestions to improve the downloads Panel or the library category, you can drop highlighting bug reports.

  • 20.0.1 (most recent) pause downloads when the window is closed. keep to cancel my pron by accident files. where I put "browser.download.manager.quitBehavior"?

-have the most recent version 20.0.1
-He paused downloads when I close the browser window
-can not restart downloads on sites like rapidgator, ryushare etc.
-keep cancel my pron downloads by accident
    -very annoying
-How/where can I set the value of browser.download.manager.quitBehavior?

The new version is fine, but I don't know why you would do this change. This is no logic coming from Firefox because I think it's you guys who presents the Download Manager window. Anyone who uses Firefox knows that when you close the window, the downloads remain... at least until now. Maybe an option during installation?

I, as well as others I know not switched back to Firefox from Chrome due to latency issues, but I'm sure that many of your users is returned to Chrome or IE misfortune because of this problem.

You can set the pref browser.download.manager.quitBehavior to 2 on the topic: config page.

That will make Firefox asks for confirmation if you want to cancel the download when you close Firefox.

  • Can I remove old Firefox.exe downloads without jeopardizing my last Firefox 14.0.1 update?

I have the latest Firefox version 14.0.1 running. Long back I had downloaded old versions of Firefox 2.0 and 3.0, etc. as exe.downloads before installing. I still have on my PC under downloads. I can their trash without jeopardizing my 14.0.1 running version to save space on my hard drive?

    Yes

There is no need to keep old files to install.

You can consider keeping the recent complete installation files, it might be useful if you need to reinstall firefox and have no browser available, but in normal situations the operating system with a browser anyway. So in your case, you must have Internet Explorer [IE] available from XP

If you think that you need to keep it may be a good idea to backup your bookmarks and even the entire Firefox profile. See

If you have other devices sync can be useful

  • This morning update of Firefox has been downloaded but does not restart the laptop. He's trying to start and the lights on the keyboard. He continually tries to restart. The screen is blank. It was working fine until I clicked on restart.

PC DOES NOT RESTART AFTER THE LAST FIREFOX DOWNLOAD THIS MORNING

The PC screen does not light and I think he's dead. It can be quite fortuitous, and there may be a hardware failure that he would have stopped working even without the download of firefox. I'll have to consider Repair shop and see if anything can be saved on the hard disk.

  • How can I report a problem with the Firefox Web browser?

I use the Firefox web browser, my OS is Windows 10 pro. I am the webmaster for the site http://eckankarinoklahoma.org. When I revise and update the pages of the site, Firefox does not recognize changes you make until I hit the button reload (renewal) to the right of the address. However, when there is no button to reload a page, Firefox won't recognize the changes that have been made until I delete my browsing history. It seems to read pages web history. I tried everything to reload the page to get out of the site and back, etc.. to get Firefox to recognize the changes but it will not. As I said, the only way I can get it to recognize the changes is to delete my history, which is a real pain. The page is not a reload button is a password protected page. See the above site and click on the left menu "Connect members here." However, by visiting this page, you'll be able to see the problem until what you have visited and there again once it has been revised. The only revision made to this page is the date in the label asking the password. The password works fine, it's just that the label will never update and it is important for users to know in what section to find the password. Sorry for the verbosity of the present, but I hope you get the idea of the problem.

When I look at this home page in the cache, I see that he arrived at expiration (date/time expiration in the past) and so Firefox should look for changes on the next load. If you check your cache, the pages of problem also expire? You can paste the following text in the address bar and press ENTER to load the cache for the homepage information:

    on:-l' the cache entry? storage = disc & uri = http://eckankarinoklahoma. org /.
