  I write a global event of a library project that I set up in my main application. Everything works fine. However, I'm wondering whether or not it is a good idea to always use the same GUID, or if I should generate a new to each one time? If I generate a new one every time, I don't know how I can have the control of the main application to see what GUID to search, as it would be generated in the library project...

  I think that if the events then report the amount of the fine to use the same GUID with different arguments.

  Making the guide in the workspace is very easy and fast. Just point the guide in the field of the action profile.

  To view the guide in a browser, I created a simple process

  who calls the rendering process Guide (in the application of the (System) Guide). It's a generic rendering engine which accepts a URL to indicate which guide you want to view as a TargetURL to update the button submit for presentations. I then uses the Rest interface to call my process and here is th eguide gets displayed. Does make sense?

  My problem was caused by using McAfee. The only way I can connect to the internet is if I start my computer in "safe mode". I've since removed McAfee from my computer, but I can't always connect to internet in normal startup mode.   On the recommendation of MS tech support, I already tried

  1. perform a clean boot

  2. reset internet Explorer

  3 typeing these orders in the dark of the screen then restart the computer after you perform these steps

  d. Netsh winsock reset

  None of these recommendations solved my problem. I don't know if it is an IE or issue windows. Any other suggestions?

• How to effectively use character Styles

  Hello, I am fairly new to InDesign, but have extensive experience with FrameMaker. I can't know how better to use character styles to card of identity, because of the difference between her and FM.

  Lets say I have two text styles different bodies that use different fonts or different sizes, each is saved as a paragraph style.

  In Framemaker, when you go into the character Style Editor, for each value you can select the value "such what." So if I want to do a character style "BOLD", I leave the police and set size attributes on "like what" and I change only the weight to the "BOLD" attribute.

  Now, I can choose the body text 1 or 2 for the paragraph style body text and if I want to "BOLD" one word, I just highlight the word and select the character style "BOLD". The text is bold, but everything else that is unique for what remains of paragraph style. If ever I need unbold the word, I can just select it and then select No Style in the character Style catalog

  But in the ID, it looks to set the value of each attribute in the character Style Editor. So I would need to create two styles "BOLD" separate, one for each paragraph style, because if I set the font and size, it will pass these values as well as the weight. And if I need to create a separate "BOLD" character style for each paragraph style in which the default font is not bold, what is the advantage of using character styles? Why don't just highlight the text and select the value "BOLD" to the character palette, which then changes the paragraph style just for these words in bold you?

  In InDesign, leaving an empty frame is the equivalent of "as-is." A character style "BOLD" can function as you want; Simply set the Style of font for "BOLD" and leave everything else intact.

• Using paragraph styles with numbered lists having paragraphs "child."

  I wanted just a checking the direction of your InDesign experts.

  When I create a numbered list when there are paragraphs separate 'child' who "belong" to the paragraph numbered list real (see below) how do I use paragraph styles for formatting the list?

  Currently I apply a style numbered list to each of the bold numbered paragraphs and just a style of body text indented paragraphs of the child. Is this fair?

  Also, is there a power automatically apply a style to the last bullet in a list (as with the last CSS child selector) so that I can have a small space after each of my balls except the last one where I would want a larger space.

  Is this fair? Yes. And if you want the style of paragraph number somehow, each model numbered to give his name to the list.

  The styles will be applied by you. To get the last point in space after, add this attribute to its own paragraph style, perhaps also giving it a keep with previous keep option.

  Or give more simple, perhaps the paragraph numbered line style certain amount of space before as one of its attributes under withdrawal and spacing.

• Automated Table of contents using incorrect styles

  Hello

  I got the InDesign to generate the table of contents for me based on the styles that I created. In most cases, this works very well except for a few cases where some of the generated elements have the applied incorrect character style.

  For example, I have a paragraph called Sub header style. In the settings Table of contents window, I have subheader put in place for the TOC entry under heading style. Each time the Sub header entry appears, it theoretically should use the table of contents under heading style in the table of contents. Unfortunately, for reasons I cannot quite understand, this isn't happening. Most of the entries under the header appear correctly, using the Sub TOC header, but some of them are filling in the table of contents with adaptations of the character style that have been used in the body.

  Does anyone know a way around this? If my example was not clear enough, let me know what I need to study in detail, and I'll do it.

  It is a normal behavior. Local Overides and character styles are preserved when points are awarded to a new style. You can avoid this by using nested styles or styles built GREP style intothe defintion to apply special formatting (because they are part of the definition of paragraph style that they are not substitutions and will not be kept), or if this is not possible, you can make a topic non-printable to use instead and apply the paragraph style and then make a copy of the style and give a new name (just the base on the other model and nothing else than the name change) and apply it to one with character style replacements, so it does not appear in the table of contents.

This is so difficult for me to kiss - I can't seem to understand how to create a paragraph style in a document, in the first place, then I don't seem to be able to apply it to the rest of paragraphs in the document.  Whenever I have try this I lose the track and then I lose patience!

  I do appreciate this forum and hope someone can clarify this issue for me, I am eternally grateful. I'm trying to gather some my illustrations and story in a booklet for children and I need to get out to publishers (fingers crossed!) until I forget why I started to be a student in graphic design and Illustration in the first place

  I've been there. It was a long time ago, but I still remember the confusion and despair.

  First, know that you will survive and ask what was the hang up. If you are a special person, do you promise never to forget what was the hang up, then you can help others when it is time to pay back the community.

  Think about how things work without paragraph styles. When you want a paragraph to look a certain way, regardless of the software you have used to work with text, you select ("highlight") some text and look for ways to style it (check its appearance, or 'attributes' or 'features' or 'features'.) You choose a font (Helvetica, Times, etc.) weight ("BOLD", extra bold, light), a color of text, an angle (italic, Roman), the space between the lines ("leading,") space between paragraphs (space before, space after,) and so on. Without named styles, you must select each property in a menu or a list when the text is selected. The next time that you want this same paragraph look, you can recall everything you did and repeat with newly selected text, or you can copy and paste one that looks, then change the text inside.

  However, it does take long to realize that he has to be a way to save these settings and pull them up and slap them on the other selections, with a few clicks and make sure that you don't forget to do something. Creation and registration of collection of a paragraph of the property settings are called "define a style." Software for manipulation of more modern text can save paragraph styles that apply to full paragraphs, and they can also save character styles, which apply to parts of the text in a paragraph. A paragraph of normal text can be used a style called 'body '. You can select a bunch of miscellaneously style paragraphs and apply the body style for them with a single click on the paragraph styles list.

  If you decide that you would like the body to look different style, you can redefine, and all paragraphs in the active document using the body style change to show the look of the new definition.

  In a body paragraph, you can have same bold italic bold text and italictext and so on. You can always select text in a paragraph and find a menu that offers characters bold or italic in the selected text. But you can also create a character for each of these apparitions style and apply them to music. As for paragraph styles, character styles are more controllable and more useful than simply highlight and apply a property. If, you use a character style that applies "BOLD", you can change its character style definition and all the places it is used in a document will show the change.

  Here is an example which shows the usefulness of the styles of characters named:

  According to the standard style for writing guides that have been developed before computers, scientific names, the words of the foreign language in a host as the English language, the titles of the documents, movies and poems and a few other things are supposed to be italicized. With character styles, you can create and apply styles of characters for each category of text in italics. In this forum, * sapiens, The Pentagon Papers and Gone With the Wind, all look the same, but with character styles, styles, named 'scientificName', 'bookTitle', and 'filmTitle', can distinguish between texts in italics. Sometimes, you gotta be able to treat these things differently, and styles is a way to keep them organized.

  Most writing tools can create a style named for the existing sample. So, if you have customized a paragraph for your body text, you can use InDesign to set the body of the paragraph in the example chosen style.

  Google search for terms like 'InDesign create the paragraph of the selection style,' "InDesign redefine style', 'Create a character style, InDesign' and"InDesign tutorial character and paragraph styles."

• using C++ style comments (/ /) in my C code

  One of my colleagues asked me if he can use / / as long as comments in its Pro * C code. He used it in 10.2.0.3 customer environment (pcscfg.cfg is the same) and he says it works (gcc 3.4.6 under Linux 32-bit and 64-bit), but he says it doesn't with 10.2.0.1 customer environment.
  
  So my question is: is this really problem with the version of the Oracle client? I am the ADMINISTRATOR and I will not install the Group of patches to update its customer environment to 10.2.0.3 for him to be able to use / / style comments in C code
  
  Note: it is using C not C++, but that he wants to use / / type of comments in his code C with Pro * C
  
  I found this in the Pro * C programmers Guide and informed my colleague, but he insists on the fact that it generates C++ code, this is why he does not want to use it. He thinks simply using 10.2.0.3 customer environment will solve his problem.

  Thanks for posting that, it is clear now. Unfortunately, I have nothing to offer at this stage.

  I can say that comments C "normal" from the file like this don't produce the error:

  Somewhere between 10.2.0.1 and 10.2.0.4 (the only other 10.2 version I have right now) there was a change of marker or Pro * C code that solves this problem. I found nothing in MetaLink to this topic, but it is difficult to ' / ' as a search term.

  I guess the best thing to do is to apply the patch to the client, so this does not work if it is so important. Good course by applying the patch you will have also some bugs have been implemented since the base 10.2.0.1 release as well as that of it.

• Unable to get the TV Guide on the media library

  Qosmio F20-136 running Tv on media library, installation guide ads, post code, internet connection.

  I am connected to the internet and I can see the data in the toolbar to broadband, but after round one minute Library responds with Guide ads could not be found, a unknown connection failure has occurred

  Connectivity doctor software said software on the laptop connected without problems.

  I tried several times but failed to get the uploaded lists. I m connected to an outdoor antenna on analog TV.

  Can someone help me please

  It would seem that MCE automatically "turns off" the guide function if it is impossible to get data for it in the first search on the Internet, and therefore the option 'Add list to the channels' is not available.

  A little known solution for this is to temporarily disable your Internet connection (or just unplug the PC), then tell him you want to use "manual download" for the guide, enter a zip code, let him try and search the Internet guide, eventually you will notify that it has not and will ask you "do you want to retry? Say 'No' to that.

  You will find that the guide is now "on" despite the failure and the option 'List add to the channels' magically becomes available. He will stay on because now EPGRunner, etc. has been able to provide the data successfully to MCE guide function (you still need to exit and restart the MCE interface to see the EPG data).

  You can also reconnect your Internet connection again, btw. :)

• HP graphic calculator first: first RPN - battery display of items not in compliance with the User Guide

  In the HP User Guide first, in the section on page 48 RPN, the image shows the battery watch algebraic views of right which was calculated on the left side of the line battery, with responses on the side of each line in the stack.  When I do the same calculations, I only get responses from the right side.

  Is there a parameter that represents the lines of battery as in the user's Guide?  I can't find it if it's there.

  The guide I think you are referring is the guide of July 2013.  These pictures no longer exist in new versions of the user guide.

  I haven't met a setting that causes the behavior used in these pictures.

• Windows 7 Media Center very slow to load the program guide

  I run a Fujitsu Esprimo E3521 Core 2 Duo 2.93GHz with 2 GB of Ram. I use a dual DVB - T2 tuner card black gold. The PC works as expected with all other tasks (Netflix, iPlayer, MyMovies for Media Center), but when I first load the program guide, it takes more than 30 seconds before the system displays the guide and becomes sensitive (later loading times are a little faster, unless the PC is in "standby", in which case I face the same deadline when you enter the program guide). There is no other applications running on the system (the PC directly in the MC boots). Once the guide is loaded, it works at normal speed (sometimes channel tuning may take longer than expected, but usually he settles in a few seconds).

  I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate. Recently, I reinstalled the operating system and for a few days the PC seems to be running OK, but he soon return to be incredibly slow, loading guide. (I also started to notice that it takes longer time to start playback of recorded assets).

  Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

  The information in the Guide is periodically downloaded from the Internet from your Guide list service provider. You are notified that "no data is available" in the Guide in the case either of the following things:

  • Windows Media Center cannot connect to the Internet and download the new Guide information for a long period of time, and the Guide information that was previously downloaded is corrupt or has expired. For more information, see solving problems with an Internet connection. (Applicable for Windows 7 alos article)
  • Guide information is not available for your location from the lists Guide service provider. For more information, see download updated Guide listings. (Applicable for Windows 7 alos article)
