Hey Jan Claire,

·        What kind of file is it?

·        What is a word in the file, the excel file? What is the file extension?

·        The problem occurs with all files or only with this file in particular?

·         What is the content of the file?

·        What have the changes to the computer until you encounter the problem?

·        How long are you facing this problem? Were you able to open the file before?

I suggest sugg_r_es steps mentioned below and check if it helps to solve the problem.

Method 1:  Try to start the computer in Safe Mode and try opening the file in mode safe, check if the problem persists there. Safe mode is useful for troubleshooting problems with programs and drivers that might not start correctly or that might preventWindows to start properly.

Method 2: If the problem persists in safe mode run clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note:  After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

Sandeep

Hello.  I use Photoshop CC 2014 on a MAC with os x LION.  I also have Photoshop CS6 installed.  When I double-click on a file in Bridge CC, it always opens in CS6.  If I say 'OPEN WITH Photoshop CC 2014', or if I drag the file directly to the CC, 2014 in the Dock, it will open in CC.  Since I want to double click or hit back in the deck, I constantly have to wait that the file opens in CS6, CS6 abandonment then opens another way to get into Photoshop CC 2014.  I tried to disable CS6 by hiding, but double-clicking Bridge has nothing.  Any ideas why this happens?

Check and adjust the file types Associations in cc Bridge preferences.

  • Windows 7 - Double click on the files in the folder Internet Explore does not work

    Hello

Using Explorer I can simple, click folders and navigate between them. However when I try to open a file in a folder, double click does not work. I can open the file by using a right-click - Open the file however.

I put the folder double-click - options, but it does make a difference.

Any suggestions how to solve this problem?

Next, you need to associate the type of file to a program,
It's kind of a redundant feature, enabling simple click to open and tap Select done the same thing, if the file type is associated with a default program, looks like that is not, or the program is already open.
Go to your control panel and click default programs,
Then click Associate a file type and Protocol with a program, search for the file type and click on change, highlight the program you want to open with the file type, save, or close.

After defining a program on this type of file is a single left click opens the file in the program, or if you do the opposite, it should work this way as well.
  • Don't double-click to open files

I'm unable to open any folder in Windows Explorer via doubleclicking (I need to right click and click Open).  When I try to double click I get the message "this file has not a program linked with her...." ».

I ran a registry cleaner last night and I'm afraid that it deleted a registry value which allowed double-clicks open folders.  I tried the system restore, but it did not work.

    Suggestions?

    Thank you!

Registry cleaners are bad news. They Excel in three things:
    (a) they do fear the light of the day in the life of people by doing a lot of things that "are wrong" with the registry and which need fixing.
    (b) at best, their actions have no beneficial effect on the operation of Windows.
    (c) at worst windows damage or ruin.

(It seems as if one) and c) applies in your case. I recommend you do this:
-Uninstall immediately the registry cleaner, then throw it away.
-Use the process below to restore a backup copy of your registry files. The process is complex and requires some careful typing. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you if you lack experience in this field. Note that it may reset your password to a previous value.
    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. select Repair from the menu.
3 log in as administrator if you are prompted.
    4. Select repair when prompted.
    5. Select the command line.
    6. identify the correct drive letter for your Windows installation. It could be one drive other than c, but it will not X:. You do this by typing commands
    DIR C:\Win*
    Dir D:\Win*
    dir E:\Win*
until you find the Windows folder.
    I'll call this "Q:" drive
    7 type these commands:
    CD /d Q:\windows\System32\config
    xcopy *. * Q:\RegBack\
    CD RegBack
    dir
    8. review the dates of the software, system, and SAM files. The files created before or after that is your problem?
    9. If they were made before the problem appeared, you can then type these commands:
    copy software / y...
    /y copy system...
    /y copy Sam...
(the two points are part of each order)
    10. restart normally. If things don't work then you can go back by copying files from the original register of Q:\Regback to Q:\Windows\System32\config.

  • Double click Open do files more

A student has this problem, so I saw him in the computer lab from time to time.

One of my students was Office 2010, she is unable to open any Office program with a double click. For Word when you double-click on nothing happens... The file association is not, and when I select open with, the word is not listed. And I can't find the exe for Word.

With Excel, the Association is good, and Excel is open on double click, however does not load the file. The only way to open a file in Excel (and Word) is through file and open.

My student has lost its Office 2010 disc, so I can't reinstall to fix this.

    Hello

Follow the steps in the article mentioned below and check if this solves the problem.

A Microsoft Excel, Word or PowerPoint 2010 file does not open because of incorrect file associations.

    GAL Lee,

Assuming that nothing is wrong with the files you trying (can you open / them in Acrobat/Reader?), you can try reinstalling using step three way:

Uninstall, run the cleanup tool and reinstall.

  • Make a right click 'open with' file error command has associated program

When I use Windows Explorer (XP, OS), click 'Open with' 'another program' right I get this error: "this file has no program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel. " He has never done this before and I can't identify when the problem started. Please do not suggest a repair installation because I don't have enough disk space, and way to many programs installed to a new installation. There must be a registry fix somehow. The Windows registry is the most useless way to track information on the program I've ever seen. It's a problematic piece of * to say the least.

  • Changed after installation of Creative Suite, drive letter cannot be opened by double clicking on the file.

Recently, my computer died so I had to put my hard drive in another computer. The drive letter did not differ from my old drive. I did not notice this in first and re-installed all my software that I wiped for a new Windows Installer on the partition (including the Creative Suite).

When I tried to open another program that relies on the old installation of the drive - it doesn't have. So I changed the letter back to what it was originally as loads of programs installed on this drive relied on it.

Of course when I changed the path of the letter of the drive of all my Adobe Suite associated files are more associated with the programs. When I try to manually open the file with the program - for example. Program/E: Files(x86) / Adobe / Adobe Photoshop / Photoshop.exe that it does not define the program by default, so whenever I have to open photoshop and navigate to the file I want to open (ctrl + O).

All the solutions to this without installing the suite again?

I found the answer to my problem here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4709209#4709209. Who would have known that the registry change is the answer...
