In Windows Explorer, the folder in my library is empty

Windows Explorer - my library folder is empty (used to display My Documents, pictures, music and video files)

If I click with the right button on any of my library records as 'Music' and select Add to library - said already in the library!

If I click on add new windows library explore stops working and restarts.

All the ideas!

We do not use McAfee on our PC but when Oracle updates Java (or it's Adobe Flash?) they try and push McAfee in your throat.  Apparently my wife that this happen at least once on his laptop and the library records have disappeared.  The solution I chose was through folder options simply to display hidden directories and files.  It worked like a charm without touching the registry.  It might take a little further by changing the attributes of the folder back library hidden hidden away and restore the original settings of the system folder.

  • Explorer Windows moves the folder selected to the bottom of the folder list. How can I stop this?

THIS ISSUE DOESN'T HAVE AN ANSWER.    I DID NOT MARK ANY RESPONSE AS SUCH.

ATTENTION TO THE RESPONSE MODERATOR ABUSE!

    Open windows Explorer
    view folders on the left
    Double-click computer
    Double-click the C drive
Scroll down to windows Double click

    Double click on diagnostics (example)

Now, the folder is moved to the bottom of the folder list.

This also occurs when you click on any folder and you click once on the open gadget.

It is increadably boring.  How can I stop it?

Hi j1234567890j - and everyone else that repsonded to the post.

I also have expierence this problem and as with all those who have responded to this post one lot others that makes me crazy. To make things worse, this problem manifests itself also on open or save file dialog boxes in any application that relies on the Windows file dialog.

In my case, I also found that the behavior is inconsistent. Sometimes the problem, and sometimes it isn't. -C' is why it is difficult to focus on the behavior and some people are unable to reproduce the problem. So, I think other answers on different computers where this problem cannot be replicated. As a developer, I understand that, since we often have the answer: "...". but it works in my computer... "- and yes it does, because usually a machine of dev/support is implemented for ideal circumstances. I digress...

Trying to figure out the problem

I noticed a pattern, however. I found that if I have the folder in question the collapse and redevelop (double click), the browser moves again, this time exposing all the subfolders that are direct descendants of the record in question. I also noticed that if subfolders are too many to display them in the navigation pane, the selected folder is scrolled to the top of the Panel, expose as many records which can be consulted.

I think the intention of the browsing behavior, it is that when the user develops the folder, it will show as much as possible under folders in view - but I also think it is where there is a bug - or at least where some other parameter has an impact on behaviour. -For some reason, when a folder is expanded the navigation pane only finds the first subfolder and that one--exposes so boring movement of the folder selected from the current position of the mouse pointer.

    Find an answer

And yes - even if I think that I understand the problem - I agree with everybody elses user experience - this needs to be fixed!

I'm not sure that a moderator will pick up what this message is marked as awnsered - even if it isn't in my opnion.

But if someone the fact: I think that provide an option on the general tab of the Folder Options dialog box, a user can turn off this behavior and expand just the folder without attempting to present all folders visible in the navigation pane.

  • In Windows Explorer, the Navigation panel jumps with a folder selected to the bottom of the screen, making it difficult for the subfolders of the opening. Why does do this, and can be corrected?

The difficulty to try to reproduce this now, but when this happens, I have to use the scroll bar to make subfolders in sight.  More disconcerting. XP was not like that.

This is the Bug of scrolling in the left pane.

See the bottom of this post for help with the left pane scroll bug using Classic shell.

Say you want Microsoft fixed it by voting on the Microsoft Connect Web site:

    http://connect.Microsoft.com/WindowsServerFeedback/feedback/details/621426/bug-when-expanding-folders-in-Explorer-Server-2008-R2-and-Windows-7

Look at the left pane scrolling bug:
Video testimony of the bug of scrolling in the left pane using Windows Explorer in Windows 7
This illustrates a way to reproduce it, by clicking on the triangle to expand a folder, that you are currently viewing as it reproduces.

FIX THE BUG IN 10 MINUTES:

The classic interface mainly eliminates the bug in Windows Explorer, but it will still exist in the open/save dialog boxes.

Pane left scrolling bug (and other corrections):

Using the classic interface to restore functionality of Windows Explorer

After you have installed the free Classic Shell , you can customize Windows Explorer more closely to how you want it, the quote below is just a way to do it. Click here to see some of the options that you can customize, and here is the FAQ page for the classic interface.

A solution that works for the restoration of some features.

    1) install the free Classic shell.  It's very customizable and works like a mod for Windows Explorer rather than a full blown replacement. You don't need to install the classic Start Menu option, but you can if you wish.
    2) restart the computer.
    3) launch Windows Explorer (Start - computer) and turn on "Always show Menus" (organize - Layout - check menu bar). It's just for the configuration, you can disable it again later if you wish.
    4) right click on the menu bar and turn on the 'Classic Explorer Bar.' This adds a series of icons for cut/copy/paste in Explorer. Basically, it also adds the "Configuration" icon
    5) go in the configuration and from there, you can change things to your heart's content. To kill the horrible record-jumping 7 Windows, place you Vista in 'Style Navigation pane. You can even hit back to XP mode if you want (this adds lines to the tree of folders and adds a classic icon "+" for the expansion of folders). The Windows Vista folder display style looks about the same as the view from Windows 7, but it gets rid of the horrible blow.
    6) adjust other settings you want.

After that, you can activate the toolbar and menus walk back to explore if you wish. Explorer Windows seems largely the same, but folders is no longer jumping around.  Vote for Microsoft to fix this bug.

Now if only MS allows to code correctly so that we don't have to mess with third-party applications to get Windows actually works...

  • Windows Explorer user folder & OneDrive

I just had Windows reinstalled 7. I noticed that, with whom I have an updated version of Windows Explorer.  I find some new features that I don't understand.

First of all, my file "C:\User(name") is repeated in the pane on the left in US. After looking through other messages, I think that it is not easy to solve. Indeed, a post has a very long and complicated answer with all sorts of changes to my record. I don't want to get into that kind of thing. Is there a simple solution? Like to take another look at the settings of my Weekend? If there is no simple solution, I can live with what I have.

Similarly, 'Favorites' appears in the left pane in a different place from what I'm used to.

Second, I see the folder "OneDrive. I've never had this before. Other positions, I think that it is a sort of "online storage", formerly known as "SkyDrive" (which I never had either). Can someone point me to an Article page or help who told me at this topic & How to use it?

I don't know about the first, but the online storage OneDrive is excellent, even works with all phones and tablets (even Android and iPad).  You can get all the info at www.onedrive.com.

    Hi Don,

    Thanks for the reply.

To resolve the problem with the preview pane, you can try these methods.

    Method 1:

I suggest you scan the computer to verify that there is no infection by the virus, using the Microsoft Safety Scanner.

Microsoft safety scanner will help us to get rid of software viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

    Note:

    1) the Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

    2) if you run the virus scan of the program which is infected with the virus will be deleted. Therefore, reinstall the program. Also, if files and folders are affected by the virus, while they might even get deleted.

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, I would say allowing you to run the auditor of file system (CFS) analyze and check if it helps.

  • How to view all the entries in the Windows Explorer SendTO folder?

I have 53 entries in my SendTO folder. When I want to send a file in this folder, not all entries are displayed. Is there a way to 'scroll' at the end of the list?

    Hello

I don't know if there is a limit on the number of slots for this menu, but 53 seems to be a very large number.

You cannot scroll through this menu unless a scroll arrow appears at the top or bottom of the menu.

When the menu is visible, you can try by pressing the up/down arrows.

    Let us know the results.

    Concerning

  • Whenever I try to search in Windows Explorer, the files listed do not have the requested content.

    Hello.

One of my end-users using Windows search in Explorer to search for a particular value (> 8).  Once the search is complete, several files are listed, but when it opens in Word 2010 and looks exactly the same value, it is said that the value is found.  Why the world is happening?  What research watch hidden in files, or only the visible content attributes?
    Thank you.

The content property is not available on the upper level, less than, or other symbols comparative.  You can only search for characters.    And if you try to find the real character > itself, which does not work well.  The only non-alphanumeric characters that are available are ____, /, and -(I have tested the symbols on the keyboard).

Update: I have found since the other characters are available, using a special syntax.  For example:

    content: ~ = "> 8"

Who would find files that contain characters specific > 8 anywhere, as long as they are together in this order.

[Update: apparently special search symbols such as ~ = do not work with the content when property indexed research places, but work during the search in unindexed locations.]

And another thing, simply chokes Windows 7 Search on the search for Word files when these same Word files are open, especially if they are in a folder with a large number of files, if I remember that well.
