incompatibility of office 2011 with OS 10.11.1

I had a multitude of problems running the latest update of Office 2011 with my iMac running OS 10.11.1 (El Capitan) that I didn't have with the previous OS versions.  It's Word suddenly quit Word telling me he didn't is not enough space for the job file, Word telling me that I don't have enough space on my hard drive to save a document, etc.  Excel seems to work OK most of the time, like Power Point.  Any ideas beyond the upgrade to the latest version of the Office $ $150 / computer?

Have no problem here with Office 2011. Make sure that you use the last update, 4.5.8.

  • Office 2011 and compatibility printing El Capitan

I'm like El Capitan, but late last night, I tried to print a Word document for the first time since Windows Office 2011 and had problems - spinning beachball and then the paper closed.  A notice of 'error' came.  I couldn't print on the trendy hp1400 or the Deskjet wireless.  My wife has been able to print a focus on my hp1400.  We have 2 printers - a 1400 hp and a series of J611 Deskjet 3050 wireless [OCDFAE]. (MacBook Pro early 2011) 16 GB 1333 MHZ DDR3 OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 version) I've seen other reports of the same problem but have not found the solution.

More of the puzzle.  My wife also has a MacBook Pro with Office 2011 - Siena had the faulty motherboard which had to be replaced a year ago.  It has updated to El Capitan and can print on the wireless.

Contact Ms., Office 2011 prints normally (in general), when its not its a MS problem

  • Office 2011 for Mac update (2.3.6) will not be installed.

I installed Office 2011 Home and Business on a new iMac with OS X 10.11.4. After installing, I ran the auto update. He noted a critical update 2.3.6 and that all other updates can take place without it. It is downloaded, but every time I try to install it comes back looking for updates and specifies that this (2.3.6) is available and ready to install.

On the Mac coming out on the same OS, there was no problem, and there were several more recent updates. I tried to uninstall Office and start again. Always the same question. Web sites to which I was directed by the automatic update should it not download, has no mention of this update. Any ideas on how to proceed and if it is a security risk?

  • After the creation of pdf in update of Microsoft Office 2011 14.6.2 in border printed on each overview pages but not Adobe Reader

As I upgraded Microsoft Office 2011 updated 14.6.2, Word documents are converted to PDF in Word 2011 appear in the preview with a ¼ of an inch from the edge of the page border and the border is printed on each page. This happens not when the pdf file created in Word is opened in Adobe Reader. Is this a problem with preview (probably not?) or a problem with Word?

I have the 14.6.2 Word and do not have this problem.

  • New Office 2011 & Webroot Desktop iMac and MacBook Pro

OK, we have a macbook pro that we run MicrosoftOffice 2011.

We have now bought an iMac of office.  We cannot add our 2011 buy microsoft office version for the iMac (only good for a laptop or personal computer).  I need something like office 2011 for the new office.

I know there was a lot of changes there on the software on what we can and can't do...

What are the best options for going forward so I can get microsoft office 2011 or something like that, for the new office.

Also the store 'gave us"webroot and said we really, really need to have that on our desk.  I am not of this opinion.  Does anyone else have an opinion?

If you are looking for just an Office program, you can try LibreOffice.

  • Work very well iMac 27 mid-2011 with 4MEM error code

Hi, I have an iMac 27 inches, mid-2011 with 4 GB installed original (Elpida so-DIMM) so I improve it with 4 new 4 GB Kingston (ram value) KVR1333 PC3-10600 1333 Mhz DDR3 DIMMS for a total of 16 GB, after that my iMac works very well for three years with the daily use of any question and everything seems normal in "about this Mac" and in the "memory" tab no software issues no kernel panic , anything with a strange behavior, until three years after the upgrade memory, now I run AHT because the other reason (I can't work with a new MBP Mid 2012 airdrop both with El Capitan OS X) and it shows me a 64/4MEM/40000000: 0x8893cb98 error code, I reset the NVRAM and SMC, and same result AHT , so use MemTest86 from a V6.3.0 of bootable CD (full test upward at the end time spent 23 hours) and V4.3.7 showing no error in the two tests, also I ran mdsched.exe RAM Memory Sticks Checker windows (I have Windows 7 64 bit family Premium installed in bootcamp) and no ram detected error.

While I should care that error? should I change my Ram modules?

    Thanks in advance

You have a faulty memory card or the slot. That's what the error means generally. Make an appointment with the Apple Genius Bar for the service. If you need a Apple Store - find a store - Apple.

I also receive this error message when you work in Word, which may be related:

I recommend you contact hosted Microsoft MS Office for Mac product forums or MS themselves for support.

You did not mention that you did all troubleshooting or even if your version of Office for Mac is up-to-date. The first place to start is sure of Office for Mac is as up-to-date as possible.

Office 2011 for Mac works fine in El Capitan, so my guess is yours is obsolete or you have other problems of application.

  • Do I have to every update of Office 2011 or can I trust Autoupdate?

As my Office 2011 crashes at a rate of about once every few minutes, I decided to remove and reinstall from the disc, which came to 14.0.0. According to Microsoft AutoUpdate, I must begin by 14.1.0 update. But, according to the website of Microsoft Web, the first update is 14.0.1.

So my question is: can I trust AutoUpdate and just follow, or I have to make sure what I go through each update in turn until I get to the latest version. Because it takes forever as it is, I do things.

    Thank you very much.

As a follow-up. After having recommended the 14.1.0 Microsoft Update jumped to 14.6.1. Do I need to all intermediate updates to get the software working properly?

Problem arises when you try to use Microsoft Office 2011; Error message "this office (word, excel, ppt) has encountered a problem and needs to close."  This happens because it attempts to open all programs... Word, excel, power point.

I uninstalled 2011 MSoffice and recharged using my home and student version of disk 14.6.1522; same problem

You may need to upgrade to MS office 2016. It cannot be supported by Yosemite.
