Increase the size of your VMFS ISCSI
Hello!
I've got ESX 3.5 connected to a LEFT HAND ISCSI SAN. the VMFS is on the SAN.
I want to increase the size of the VMFS, so that I can add virtual machines more him.
Increase in size on the SAN is no problem, but how to get the ESX servers (I use virtual Center)
to 'see' the increase in the size of the volume?
I assuming I just "update" under "storage" configuration, but just want to make sure.
Is there a risk of disruption of service? -> is - it possible in the middle of the day?
Thank you!

You do not have. You can't resize VMFS volumes. You must move your VM, remove the logic unit number, recreate the LUN of good size, move the rear of your virtual machine.
Supposedly wll ESX 4.0 (vSphere) allows to resize, but for now no way to do it.
There are extensions, but this is not recommended. This space just ADDS and tacks on the original system, but it exposes you to more risk, better to recreate the lun.

When I start my laptop I get "your system is low on virtual memory. Windows is increasing the size of your virtual memory paging file. This process may be denied requests for some applications. "and my laptop takes forever or does not open my programs. any help? Thank you.
less than low disk space,
What seems to be the case, it's that your windows is having a hard time resize its file for virtual memory.
my suggestion is to remove "auto" at that time, and then set a custom format.
I recommend that you set the initial size of 2 and max at 1152.
Here's how to put a link:

Cannot increase the size of the VM disk
Hello
I have VM, that has layout size of 20 GB - thick and it grayed out to to increase, see below

It should appear as a adjacent unused space on the disk that you want to resize.
>... what I owe another utility to make for example a disk drive c right?
Open disk management, right-click on the c: drive (assuming that it is the only player you have) and select "Extend Volume... ». Then follow the steps in the "Wizard of Volume stretch ' to increase the size of your c: partition.

Data store cannot increase the size
I have some data stores that I'm not able to increase the size of. Increase button is just off hard. Some other data warehouses, I am able to do it without problem.
All data warehouses are connected to the unit number logic on a NetApp via an iSCSI connection. I increased the size on the side of NetApp, but this does not seem to matter. In fact, he sees the extra space when I go into the properties of the data store. All servers are running the same version being esxi 4.1.
Most data warehouses are 3.33 but I have some 3.46 versions, but on both versions, some may be increased and some may not. I was hoping that was the problem...
The size of the data store varries. Most of them have a block size of 1 MB. None of the data warehouses are more than 500 GB. Mostly between 300-400 GB.
So I'm a bit at a loss. I tried to resize them using the vCenter server and goes straight to the server esxi itself. None of that seems to matter.
Right now, I'm just at a loss. I have not really found too much online about this problem. A large number of documents to make errors trying to increase, but not a lot of increase being disabled.
Thank you for your time.
See if this KB helps
Cannot cultivate VMFS datastore, the increase of button is disabled

Measure vs. increase the size of the - not sure of the difference
I have a question about action vs increase the size of a data store. I don't know if they are one and the same.
If I have a 200 GB LUN presented to me and I have a 200 GB data store. We realize that we actually need is 400GB. In our case, the SAN administrator pushes the LUN and so we can increase the size of the data store. What is a measure? I'm not add two LUNS together to make more size.
The alternative is of course to create a NEW LUN of 400 GB and the storage vmotion on him, but if the above is not dangerous or going to steal the performance that we would prefer that.
Any thoughts?

to what extent could be covering the different LUN data store.
increase in size of the data store would actually expand IF you have available space on the lun or on your storage space has developed firstly
If he pushes the san admin, it is not a measure.
SVMotion to a larger data store is fine too.

Here you can see that the virtual machine is not affected by increasing the data store

Increase in size of data store ESXi after increasing the size of the LUN
Hi all
Scenario is as follows.
Remote site with Dell r710 ESXi 4.1 servers 2, 1 Dell MD3200i SAN with 12 600 GB drives.
Initially when I implemented the San, I created 2 LUNS with 1 TB in each LUN.
Now, we ran into a situation where we have 1 server which is now need more than 1 TB of sapce on it.
I've reconfigured the table and now have a unit number logic that I spent in 2 TB to 1 TB and I now need to increase the store of data on the ESX Server.
If I increase the size he reformatted the LUN whole or just the free space that I create?
I don't want to remove any exisitng s VM on the SAN.
maximum size of a vmfs is 2 TB-512 b only. extend wouldn't format the LUNS. Look at this blog: http://www.yellow-bricks.com/2009/03/26/resizing-your-vmfs-the-right-way-exploring-the-next-version-of-esxvcenter/

Increase the size of the blocks of 1 MB up to in ESX 4 - can it be done?
Hi all
I would like to increase the size of the block of a local vmfs data store to one of our sites from DR. When you install ESX it does not block size option and defaults to 1 MB. I need it to be greater that we have a few large virtual machines we want to replicate.
It seems from reading THIS that it is designed to be only 1 MB and so the RAM limit for a prompt is 255 GB (as the ontop General 256 GB would push beyond.)
I can't format it later as we can in VI3 as the esxconsole.vmdk is found in the data store local vmfs.
If I can't put it during the installation can I use for scripted installation do? or have I missed in the chart!
Thank you
Dan
You will need to re - install them all, and you can't set the size in interactive installation.
PS: I suggest to create two virtual disks with your RAID controller, one for the system and VMFS for COS (and a few small VMs), one for a VMFS custom data store.

I would like to be able to increase the size of the text on the home page. I don't know how to do this. Thank you
Hold down the CTRL key and use your mouse wheel. Scroll up will increase the font size, down will decrease. Alternatively, you can use the main menu and click on view-> Zoom to set the zoom level. If you do not have your main menu enabled in Firefox 4, you can turn it on by selecting the Firefox menu at the top left of your window of Firefox, then Options and check "menu bar".

Increase the size of the font when composing emails in Mail
I saw a number of posts about this, but so far no solution that doesn't involve alternative e-mail software download...
When I compose an email on my iMac 27 inches with OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.2 and using the Mail application, the text is too small! I could obviously increase the font size in each email (or zoom with command +)- but then the recipient of the email would be a size unusually large police (unless I remember to reduce it again before I hit send)! Much of your time to do this for each font.
This isn't a problem when reading the emails received in the Mail application. Can I use the keys cmd + to increase the police * looks a * size without increasing the size of the current font.
The question: to compose e-mails from Mac Mail, how can I increase the size displayed without increasing the actual font size when I send the police?
Thank you very much
You answered your own question. Using "command +" to zoom in as you type so you can see clearly, and then use "command - 'to decrease after you have click Send. This way the person on the other end doesn't end by with an email with the type of massive police.

I'll have some lost data of veristand screen and I want to increase the size of the UDP buffer. This is a new option in veristand 2011 that I can read on this link: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/372846C-01/veristand/whats_new/ (improving the workspace section).
Someone at - it now haow to do?
Thanks in advance,

Do you mean how to do it from the VeriStand workspace? On your graphical work space click on setup to enter the chart configuration dialog box. In the configuration dialog box, you will see where you can enter a new value for the UDP buffer size.

How to increase the size of the buffer
Hi, I would like to ask how can I increase the size of the buffer?
My problem is that the generation cannot be started,
because the buffer size is too small by the way I use DAQ Assistant.
Choose the size of the buffer: 1
Minimum required buffer size: 2
so, how do I solve it?
Thank you
Chris
Hello Chris, can I ask what material you use. Currently the DAQ Assistant in your code example is configured to run continuous Acquisition and thus expects a type of dynamic data. This can be seen by the small red spot known as a point of stress and is shown when LabVIEW must convert the data to a different type. There are two options you can try to solve this problem.
(1) change the type of Acquisition "(on request) 1 sample" in the DAQ Assistant, he will write your input value for the cDAQ with each iteration of the while loop
(2) change of data entry strikes at a waveform

I would like to make each letter 10 cms wide for use on my design of the mosaic. Is it possible to do it on my printer as my Word program letters are too small?
Thank you
MegMeg,
You can definitely show text exceeds the maximum allowed in Word.
- Open a new Word document
- Set the Page layout > landscape
- Select your font > set size 72 (max in 2013 Word) or anything that is the maximum for your version of Word
- Cut the text > save as a .jpg file
- Insert the image file in your Word document
- Right click on the inserted picture > select the size and Position > increase the size of the image to any percentage you like
Because the 'text' is now captured in the image, it will display as the size of the 'bigger '.

I am running vista home basic, how you can increase the size of the D: Recovery drive
I am running vista home basic, how you can increase the size of the D: Recovery drive
Hello
You use the D: Partition of recovery in 3 different ways to reinstall the operating system.
1. you press a particular key or key combination at startup, F10, F11, Alt + F10 etc. to begin the process of recovery in new condition (as you bought) in the event of system failure.
2. start > programs > find software from the manufacturer of your computer > look for a recovery method
3. you can do recovery disk to reinstall the operating system in case of hard drive failure.
This will save you the purchase of the computer manufacturer's recovery disks.
The manufacturer will advise you on the options
See you soon.
