Increasing hard drive size of problem

Hello

I am trying to increase the size of the hard disk of the virtual machine in vSphere, but the option for all the drives are grayed out on a server specific (all other servers work very well and seem to have the same configuration).

Is there a list of parameters, that I can use to determine why it is grayed out?

The ones I know:

-There are no snapshots on virtual machine

-The SCSI controller is a LSI Logic SAS (I know that you can't increase with an IDE controller/drive)

-All hard drives are thick provisioned

What else could be?

We use vCenter 4.1 and ESXi 4.1. The VM version is 7, Windows Server 2008R2.

Thanks for any help,

David.

Just to be safe. How to check that there are no snapshots on the VM? Using the Snapshot Manager or by checking the vmdk file name in parameters of the HARD disk of the virtual machine or by examining the data store? Sometimes the Snapshot Manager shows not all snapshots (especially when the backup software is in use).

Please open the browser of data store and double check there is no - 00000x.vmdk files.

André

PS: If you find the snapshot files in the data store Navigator, open the snapshot to the virtual machine Manager, create a new snapshot, and then select 'Delete All' which will merge/delete all snapshots, appears in the Snapshot Manager or not.

  • Envy 17 t J000 - maximum hard drive size and speed

I'm going to put a 2nd hard drive into the open space in my Envy 17 t-j000.

    The States of Maintenance and Service Guide;

Hard drives Supports 6.35 cm (2.5 in.) 9.5 mm hard disks (. 37-in) and thicknesses of 7.0 mm (. 28 - in) (all hard drives use the same bracket)

    Customer-accessible

    Serial ATA

    Supports the following drives:

    ● 1 TB 5400 RPM, 9.5 mm

    ● 750 GB 5400 RPM 9.5 mm

    ● 500 GB 5400 RPM 9.5 mm and 7.0 mm

    Configurations to two hard disks:

    ● 2 TB: (1 TB 5400 RPM x 2)

    ● 1500GO: (750 GB 5400 RPM x 2)

This seems to mean that I cannot use a single hard drive 2 TB 2 and cannot use a 7200 RPM drive.

Is this correct? Bios denominator do not allow more than a drive of 1 TB or the 7200 RPM?

CouldI partition just the 2nd 2-1 TB disk?

Or the manual simply means that the standard unit of HP is not provided with larger than these sizes and I could actually use a 2 TB in the Bay of 2nd?

It's the last... the list says just what HP sale: it does not describe a limitation of the system. However, I do not think that yet, the market offers a 2 TB drive that fits the available space. 2 TB 2.5-inch SATA drives I've seen are too thick. 7200 rpm or hybrid SSD; No problem.

To add a second drive you'll need a second hard drive enclosure and cable.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - new partition after Exchange of HARD drive sizes

Under 'Vista' with a 120 GB hard drive and needs space.

Bought a 500 GB SATA drive. I'm afraid that the recovery software will set the new drive with a 50-50 Partition. This is the case or it will allocate 50 GB to E: / and the rest to C: /?

As the manual States that if I change the size of the partition the recovery software will not re - install in the future?

    Hello

As I know the Toshiba Recovery disk always allocates 50% disk space for each partition. This means that the 500 GB drive you have two partitions with ~ 250 GB of disk space on each partition.
If not or you want to change something, you can use the Windows disk management tool:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB7101OB0006R01.htm

I think the manual means that you can use t more the procedure for recovery of HARD disk if you change the size of the partition.
But with the Toshiba disk recovery you are on the safe side and so you can always restore the factory settings every time. :)

  • Help a fool please ~ deleted partition, lost the hard drive size

I'll try my best to make this as clear as possible, thank you for your time...

Received my free copy of windows 7 home Premium

Wanted a clean install (not an upgrade)

Back up all the data and the programs that I installed

During the installation of win 7, I deleted the recovery of the system partition and the 2nd partition of my HARD disk (has been labeled d, came that sort of lenovo factory, had 70 GB size I think)

I thought that if I deleted the partition of the hard drive space would be added to the 1st partition and it did not

Have materialized with the installation of win 7, and now I just have never found my C: and the GBs of the 2nd old partition so its as if I lowered my total HARD disk size

How can I get my C: to have all of the 320 GB? Thanks for any advice!

You can allocate the unused disk space as follows.

    Start > run > diskmgmt.msc

Right-click on the Windows partition [should be C] and click on "expand". Extend partition as needed and enjoy.

    What can I do?

Can I change the DVD player. Are their sold somewhere?

You have a lot of questions here. Firstly, Yes, the connector of the drive hard eBay is the right and it will work on any SATA including SSD drive. I think the DV9500 and more it is SATA 2 (3 gb/s) interface, but it's not really important. A 60 GB SSD will not be enough space.

HP does not have updates of driver for this machine for quite a while. I wouldn't too much stock in these update pilot programs that you download from the Internet. Indeed, they often contain spyware that could explain why you have high CPU utilization. If you can give me the exact model number or at least tell me if it is an AMD or Intel version we can get better drivers. The pilots of two wholesale to be aware of are the chipset and video drivers. If you have the AMD driver chipset nVidia processor must be specifically responsible. Windows it will not pick up. You definitely need at least 4 GB of RAM, and Yes, you use the DDR2-800 SO-DIMM. Also, you should install 64-bit Windows 7.

This is a DVD burner. The façade can be a different color, but you can reverse your.

Easy to replace. Just return the laptop and look for a screw in the center of the bottom panel. It will have an icon of disk beside him. Remove the screw and slide the drive.

  • RT - etspc - hard drive (size)

    Hello

I created my goal of RT on an old computer, which meets the requirements of the document

    http://zone.NI.com/DevZone/CDA/tut/p/ID/8239?OpenDocument

and everything works fine with LabView RT 8.6.

Now, I'm going to prepare a new goal of RT with LabView RT 8.6 on a new computer. I found already all components required are compatible, but I struggle to find (buy) a hard drive with the size smaller than 126 Go with respect to this document.

Might be possible to buy a 250 GB HDD and diveded small partitions?

Or should I take an old hard drive for example from an old computer, which has the corresponding size.

    Thank you

    Hi zial24,

LV in real-time is not supported RAID.

We studied actually add RAID in LabVIEW Real-time several times, but the question that comes up every time is that most RAID controllers are owners and require the development of drivers for each of them, otherwise we would have to apply or our own solutions software RAID mainly only the port.  We prefer to work with a single hardware RAID where the RAID controller would manage disks and provide an interface of type SATA usable by the operating system.  Offers of products that we (as in NOR) for PXI include PXI-8260, but this product is a software management JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks) and isn't really a "RAID", since there is no fault tolerance (e.g. mirroring, parity, etc...).  Additional offers in the PXI-8162/3/4/5 require an external rack mount configuration, but are still software RAID0 configuration, not better than JBOD RAID except that they take over striping without parity (which is almost impossible to recover from if a disk fails).

  • Disk W530 Hard Drive Bay Adapter problem

W530 ordered on 14/01/2014. I replaced the 500 GB with a SSD hard drive and wanted to use the reader HGST it came with a disc of Nimitz adapter. I can delete the partition and create a new volume, but it fails during format. It fails even when it is formatted a ready to use.

I have a 250 GB drive at 5400 RPM Hitachi which works very well in the Bay. With the help of a USB drive Bay I can delete the volume and rebuild the drive of 500 GB. Why do I have a problem with this drive in the drive Bay?

I plugged the hot formatted disk and it lights up immediately, I backup on it now. I don't know why I got so many problems earlier.

    Thanks for the reply.
