InDesign crash when exporting PDF

I'm trying to export a PDF of high quality for my editor. It is an Indesign book with 14 chapters. I exported it several times before for the preview. It always crashes on the same page; every time. I tried to change the illustrations on this page of AI to PDF. Same thing.

More funny is that when I export the chapter separately, it works very well.  What else could be that originally is this book to stop smoking to be exported on the same page every time?

If you are able to export into pieces (as in chapter only exports), but not all together, it is more likely is a problem of system resources. It sometimes works to close ID and reopen, then perform export as the first operation. You can also combine PDF files into one file using Acrobat.

  • Cs6 InDesign crashes when exporting objects with shadows in interactive PDF format

I use the trial version of InDesign CS6 on a mac OSX 10.7.4 that I need to export my document as an interactive PDF. I found that the export works very well as long as none of the objects in my document were a shadow. However, if I add a shadow to any object (text, images or video) InDesign will crash when I try to export. I'm adding the shadow by selecting the object and choosing object > Effects > drop shadow. Is there another method I should use to add shade if I want to export to an interactive PDF?

Two invites on 1 page in Indesign that when exporting to adobe reader in pdf format, I can simply add new names that populate both copies and then be printable. Any help out there is how to make an invitation in Indesign, but now how to make 2 copies on a single page that someone else ie the customer can add their own names. So each field name must complete on both guest. Sounds simple, but is not really there to help. I think he called an interactive pdf. Thanks in advance.

AutoFill is the easiest part, he lies. If both fields have the same name, they will have the same content: type in one and it appears in the other.

  • InDesign crashes when you try to save IDML - even after reinstallation

I feel a little desperate here.

InDesign has decided to crash whenever I try to save something like IDML.

InDesign has decided to crash every time I try package a specific file that I need to provide for a sale of rights.

In the process, he damaged the file I tried to record and package. When it started, I felt compelled to disable the synchronization of files, because I can't afford simply to re-create the too many documents after that Indesign has trashed, so I should have still 'safe' copies online.

    What now?

I've deleted preferences, deleted the other layouts, remove all the styles and changed all the fonts Arial. That particular file still crashes when exporting record as IDML.

Funny you should ask. I move to the Office to have a clear space. Made no difference.

Finally I just made a new doc with the same characteristics, which took about 60 seconds, cut and pasted the content by propagation. 64 pages, it's 33 cut blocks. Each 16 pages or so I exported IDML, until it crashed, and I thought that it was page 60, so I divorced from objects on this page, images of reset to allow text on top, and it was fine.

It's a document originally created in 1998 in QuarkXpress, translated by Q2ID and content and design redesigned last year, so I guess that a gremlin cruft is not something to really complain. I was pleasantly surprised to see that cut and paste sheets imported style and properly linked images (nice work Adobe!).

  • First Pro CC crashes when exporting h.264

I have shot some footage in AVCHD using a panasonic hmc80, edited two sequences in the same project, a short about 8 minutes, which I exported to the fine H.264 format and a second in 36 minutes that crashes when exporting h.264, exporting to approximately 8 to 10 Mbit / s.  I have tried mpeg2 and exported correctly.  I updated from the first and windows and checked drivers such as Nvidia, all of this to date.  I use a matrox mxo2 as an e/s has no MAXIMUM.  Same Setup worked well with first cs6 for about six months without any problem. It is a windows system 8 I7 with 4 disks in raid zero for media and a separate player previews and export.  I also tried the FLV and it also crashed.

The error message Windows "Adobe Premiere Pro CC has stopped working" collects more information about the problem.  I press cancel on the error of the box and first stop.  In fact the same thing happened once while I was sitting right on the timeline, take a break, he did the same thing and stopped, I was not made or export or do anything.  I have closed all the programs, including my anti virus software to make sure that wasn't the problem, but kept stopping.  I used to do some audio adjustments on a few clips I've done in the past with CS6 hearing...

I tried to open the project in CS6 but received a message that the project is damaged and cannot be opened. However, the project opens and plays fine CC where I created it originally. I have inspected the timeline and made the small part of locations that it stops the function of percentage completed without problem.  He stopped at 20 percent, 55 percent and 60 to 70 percent several times.Screen shot.jpg

Finally found the problem.  Hope this helps other casual users like me.  Originally when I started editing I dissociated video audio to audio specific modifications. It's a game of the game session only and talking heads were not in on it.  Once I finished editing I've linked audio video back together.  After I inspected carefully the timeline by zooming in to check every edit I was out of sync on one of my edits and he had a red - 4 video and a + 4 more on audio right on the clips.  After having to separate the tracks again that the red numbers went away and of course had an export successful h.264 after at least a dozen crashes.     What is funny about this is I had an export successful with mpeg2 after continuous h.264 and flv hangs until this fix.

  • InDesign crashing when you export a great book

I have a big InDesign book (159 records) who recently started crashing when I export all. The book was created years ago, and I can't understand what would cause this issue all of a sudden. Originally, I thought it was due to related referrals, I've recently added, because there the only thing that's changed on the book. But I removed all the cross references, and I always have the same question. I can export the first half of the book, the second half of the book, or even 3/4 of the book successfully. It's only when I try to export all what InDesign crashes.

I use the latest version of InDesign CS 5.5 on OS X 10.8.2.

I have another discussion posted on this (http://forums.adobe.com/message/5132896), but decided to start a new thread because the other was on referrals. Towards the end of this discussion, people started suggesting that it was only a problem with my computer - I don't have enough free space, etc. But I had my company IT guy look at the activity monitor, while I tried to export the book, and he assured me that my computer is completely capable to complete the export. This makes sense to me because I've always been able to export the book using that computer, and the book did not much larger or more complex.

A solution we found was to export the book as an interactive PDF instead of a PDF print. However, I was fighting more "BOLD" text on pages with transparency for years and export as interactive PDF seems to make this much worse. (For more information about this issue, see the following thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/421267.)

There is someone smarter than me who has a guess as to why I was able to export the book as an interactive PDF, but not as a PDF print? I hope that this new information will help in the fracas of troubleshooting.

Eureka! I've recreated the book from scratch, and I can export fine now. The book file must have been corrupted.

He sat at the bottom of my list of things to try all the time, but I never thought it would be the solution. I hope that if someone else has this problem, they fall upon this and try this first place last!

  • Overview of the issues when exporting pdf from InDesign

    Hello

I'm working on PC, Windows 7, InDesign of CS5. I had several problems with executives of color filled not appearing is not in the preview of an exported pdf file, different file, same problem. The files 'prints' very well. For example, I have a page that contains a logo, two lines of text in the Arial font, two photo .jpg (CMYK) and a background color solid process. When I export to PDF (I tried all the options available to me) the colorful background does not appear in the preview. I can send this file to the printer and it prints exactly as set upward in InDesign. I also systematically deleted each item separately and re-exported the same results each time. I even deleted everything on the page with just the colorful box. Same result. I did drag the elements on a page in a new document. Same result.

Thoughts? Does anyone else know this? I looked for further discussions on this topic, but couldn't find one just like her.

    Thank you!

  • InDesign crashes when I add button state "Overview". Why?

I make buttons for an interactive pdf. I am able to add an action to the button. However, when I select "Rollover" in the appearance section of buttons and Menu shapes, inDesign crashes.

I use the latest version of InDesign CC. Not sure why this is happening. Help is appreciated.

Update: the button I want to change is an icon that I made in Illustrator. I have other similar buttons, but the same sequence of actions used on them does not cause the program to crash.

If possible, please use a different type of gradient than the gradient of the mesh in the elements of your button, then copy paste code.

Otherwise, try to put the button in the ID in the file WITH layers (instead of copy paste).
