InDesign epub export bug CS6

I use Indesign CS6 to export an epub book. Problems with the machines and balls numbers and spacing issues. However, I made a few adjustments and get a pretty decent epub. Here's the question: when I convert my epub into Mobi by using Calibre, I get double chips and double numbers in my lists. I used the same process to create a file to Mobi in Indesign 5.5 a few months with no problems. So I took one of my files CS6, it has exported to IDML, opened in CS5.5 and exported to ePub. Then, I took this epub and converted into Mobi by using Calibre. No double chips or numbers. If the problem comes from Indesign CS6.

Anyone else had this problem. Any other ideas on how to get a clean Mobi file of CS6?

lotuscott,

You should get the 8.0.1 update for InDesign CS6. It fixes several bugs EPUB, including the problem of 'space before' and the 'epub-Ruby"(that is, I thought for the Japanese language.

You can export available fixed or recomposable and recomposable may be version 2 or 3.

  • How to export InDesign EPUB iBooks author by Proofer book?

While working on iMac using OS 10.10.1 (Yosemite) and Id CC can't seem to export the document to EPUB, to import into iBooks from Apple author, but when trying to use "Proofer Book" Apple (version 1.0.1 (57) it says encrypted file (the file EPUB Id) and it can not evidence.) Y at - it a way to "décrypte" the document Id EPUB or is it some kind of DRM problem?

IBook Apple oven is a quick way to evidence recomposable EPUB on your iPad or iPhone, but does not support the encryption of fonts that InDesign is even if it is valid. You will need to re-export from InDesign, but disable "Include embeddable fonts" when exporting if you want to use.

However, with the Mavericks or Yosemite (10.9/10.10), iBook Proofer is a lot less necessary than in previous versions of Mac OS X, since these later operating systems comes with iBooks as a program on your Mac. Before it didn't, so people used iBook incubator instead of constantly syncing with iTunes in order to get new versions on the iPad to the evidence.

iBook Proofer has nothing to do with iBooks author, which is the creation of Apple program to create their own format ebook owner called an iBook.

If you try actually get an InDesign file into iBooks author (as it can import a Word file), then you need to export your InDesign to IDML file. Honestly don't see no interest in IDS to EPUB export and then import the EPUB, but I could be wrong, I have not compared or tested both methods. Really differently, your book will look like a .ibook like a .epub.

  • InDesign CS5.5 crashing during their epub export

I have an ebook in a few days and I hit a brick wall. I'm working on a 300-page InDesign document which is connected internally (no cross references). There are also some external http links. The text was delivered to me in Microsoft Word doc format. I found that InDesign disliked the links generated by Word and crashed during their epub export. I took me a while to understand that one. If I had no choice but to remove manually all 1600 links and add a link to them, and then tested a few pages. Success. It took 10 days.

Now that I'm ready to export, InDesign collapses, and this time I do not know why.  I removed all styles, all links and all text in the hyperlink - still in accidents. I suspect that indesign doesn't like TOC in large documents. The problem is, once you have called your table of contents, you can not delete it! So, I tried to copy + paste a few pages in my old test docs I know used to export without problems - and they do not have a table of contents. These exported correctly, even with the new style and links intact. Without crashing. But my original 300 page document still crashes whenever I try to export to EPUB.

So a solution - even if it is cumbersome - is I can move all my content page by page in a fresh document - with styles and links intact - and it won't crash. I started to test this with 5 pages, but InDesign is weird as arising from the text on the even or odd pages only, and not always to let the stream of content on the new blank pages.

I have included a link below in a zip file that contains the indd work and crash indd. At this point, I suspect that OCD is at the origin of the accident, but I'm not entirely sure.

    http://CL.LY/402G2M410l182D1R1J1v

    I tried the things:

export with NO link and NO style (in which case it was a https or & question) = always accidents

IDML export and then export as EPUB = always accidents

I have a few days left, so that all help figure this out would be greatly appreciated!

I would like to have better advice for you

Your conclusion seems to agree with mine on Sunday, where it seemed that the difference between a crashing and a non paper document was a harmless little extra line.

All I can offer is that this kind of problem is not really normal for InDesign, but EPUB is a rapidly changing area and so I'm afraid they are a domain which is not as developed as the rest of InDesign, and clearly, there are serious problems.

You can take it to the top with the support of Adobe, of course, but I don't know that they will be able to find you a solution in due course. Maybe someone else who treats the ePub files that I can weigh with some more useful tips.

I wonder if you can divide your document into several smaller documents and make a book (INDB file) and who then export. It can allow you to avoid going beyond the limit that you travel upwards.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, and I particularly regret what I can I have provided false hope that led you on the path of optimism while eating in your time. I would like to know if there is anything I can do to help.

  • InDesign epub (fixed provision)

  • InDesign PDF export does not display is not the correct colors

So I exported my indesign document into my new CS6 software, but when I opened them all the colors are completely false. Colors will come up as gray or black, although they were gray or black in the first place.

I took my file to another computer and exported their CS6 and the file came with all the colors, so I know that would not rather maybe my indesign file, one a software thing?

I tried to delete the Preferences file, but this solves nothing. If someone wants to be able to recommend anything that would be greatly appreciated.

What application you use to view the PDF on your computer?  If Mac overview there are questions I recommend Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat.

BTW, what is your operating system and what setting you use when exporting the file.

  • How can I generate my own InDesign ePub file without the encryption.xml file?

My Bookstore (B & N) will not accept my ePub file because it does not want the encryption.xml file included. How can I generate a file InDesign ePub, for my own books, without him? Is there a box somewhere? I searched through the ePub export area and boxes of file information, no luck.

    Error message from PubIt.com B & N:

We found a file name called encryption.xml in your container of EPUB, which refers to the part, or all, your file is encrypted. We do not accept any encryption in source ePub files. After the closure of this message, please remove the file encryption.xml your ePub and you can try to download your ePub file again.

If you want to apply DRM to your title, go to Section 4, question H and select Yes. PubIt! apply DRM to your title once you have downloaded your ePub without encryption file.

    Thanks for your help...

Sorry I wasn't clear. Do not embed fonts at all. No matter what.

    Take care, Mike

  • InDesign epub issue

I properly formatted a document in InDesign and exported to an epub. There are small numbers that appear on the right from time to time. I can't figure how to get rid of these.  I deleted the page numbers, even though the videos said do not view Master Page items.

Can someone help me get rid of these little numbers. Sometimes they are to halfway down the page epub is not epub page numbers. Thank you

I'm all new to InDesign. Just upgraded to CS5.5 of Pagemaker 7.0, I finally had a need to do so.

I think that your reference to fiction pagenumbers in ADE, ignore them. If you open your epub in iBooks you'll see that they're missing

  • Upgrade only Indesign CS5.5 to CS6 (instead of all Design Premium)

    Hello

is it possible to upgrade only my Indesign CS5.5 to CS6, instead of upgrading my whole Design Premium Suite?

I bought the indesign upgrade, but now I can't install it.

    Thank you!

You must contact adobe support.  If someone can help you get a suite at an individual producet, then can.

I don't think they will be able to do that in this case you will probably need to contact them about a refund.

so, in both cases, contact adobe support: http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html
