INS-40912 virtual host name]: oracle-vip is assigned to another system

I got the above error when I try to install RAC on redhat linux.

I have configured the virtual IP on/etc/hosts, and it shows in ifconfig | net grep.

What should I do to fix this error.

I have not found many documents in support of the oracle.

Do I have to configure the virtual IP address in the dns?

Thank you

While they are supposed to be included in the DNS system, right?

Where is the link for that? I checked the documents installation oracle, under manual configuration of the network, did not mention VIP had to be DNS.

No, if you are using DNS for the resolution of network then all IPs (not only VIP) must be defined in the DNS. If you are using host file then all IP addresses must be defined in the host file

See you soon

  • After uninstalling the grid Infrastructure: virtual host name [INS-40912] assigned to another system on the network

    Hello

I deleted successfully installed grid Infrastructure software. Now, I installed again it but the installer complains about '[INS-40912] virtual host name assigned to another system on the network", which he complains not in the first installation process. :/

EDIT: I checked and both nodes of the cluster are interpingable through their virtual IP address.

I see that the previous installation has created a clean interface for this virtual IP address:

    eth0:2Link encap HWaddr 00:50:56:B9:0E:AA
    INET addr:10.200.11.159 Bcast:10.200.11.255 mask: 255.255.252.0

    OK solved: I just do:

    ifconfig eth0:2 down

  • Virtual host name

We have one Equallogic running on a PS4100. I'm relatively new to the learning system so even my way around it. This could be a simple query.

My question is this: we have an old server with 4 TB of data storage. Call the SERVER1. It is retirement due.

I would like to move that data to the Equallogic, where I have plenty of room for it.

However, we have many, many customers running many readers mapped to SERVER1. Instead of remapping all, which will have an age, y at - it a facility inside SAN HQ or group leader to give a virtual host name (which will be "SERVER1") and intellectual property to a volume? Pretty sure that our former NAS system a few years back was able to do this.

For customers, the transition would be seamless - they would always connect to the same host name, only it is now hosted on the Equallogic rather than being a stand-alone server. I need to update the DNS entries and turn off the original Server1 completely of course.

    Hello

    # The berries of the PS Series by themselves are just s SAN storage device that use the iSCSI Protocol to connect servers to storage. .  They are not the NAS file servers on their own.  Dell offers a NAS device that fits completely into the SAN PS, known as a FS7600.

  • abstractWSDL points to the physical host name when using URL loadbalanced

Document tracking "Oracle® Fusion Middleware Enterprise Deployment Guide for Oracle SOA Suite 11 g Release 1 (11.1.1) E12036-04" to implement soa suite 11 g PS2 in two node cluster environment.

    Hostname SOA physical server (SOAHOST1 & SOAHOST2)

More SOA is configured with the virtual host name (SOAHOST1VHN1 & SOAHOST2VHN1 Port: 8001) and loadbalancer URL is http://soa.mycompany.com:7777.

Successfully completed installation and the steps of post-installation as update callbackServerURL and serverURL to http://soa.mycompany.com:7777

    Also updated HttpServerURL as http://soa.mycompany.com:7777.

Composite SOA successfully deployed to the cluster from jdeveloper soa and tested control of Fusion middleware 11g (EM) webservices. And his works fine.

When I goto page to Test Composite, the WSDL and endpoint URL appear as expected is http://soa.mycompany.com:7777 / soa-infra/services/default/ccValidation/getStatusByCC? WSDL and http://soa.mycompany.com:7777 / soa-infra/services/default/ccValidation/getStatusByCC

But when I access the WSDL in the abstractWSDL browser is having hostname of the server that is mentioned below. Cause this problem by calling this webservice of some other jdeveloper 11g bpel processes. When I enter the url http://soa.mycompany.com:7777 WSDL / soa-infra /... in Web service activity (after placing the activity in the corridor of "External References") and wire BPEL to webservice, WSDL url in webservice is changed to http://soahost1.mycompany.com:8001 / soa-infra /... and wiring is faulty.

Since soa suite managed server is configured with the virtual host name, the wsdl file is accessible only by using their virtual hostnames (SOAHOST1VHN1 & SOAHOST2VHN1) and load balancer url. Access WSDL using the physical hostname soahost1 would result in "Page not found" error. Why Jdeveloper isn't able to wire bpel with webservice component.

    Question:

Is there any configuration that I need to change for this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

I'm talking about the screen where I enter host name for my name virtual ip address of the cluster nodes

I also need to change the name to ip address virtual it is because the default Installer took more name: 10 - vip.70.22.33 (which is the combination of my ip address and virtual ip address!

  • How to get the host name of the physical computer inside a virtual machine until the user logs in Windows?

I don't know if this is the right place to post this question, I develop software to support VMWare PCoIP and need to know how to get the host name of the physical machine (which manages the virtual machine and View Client) within a virtual machine before the user logs in Windows of the virtual machine.

I understand there are two ways to read the host name, via the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Volatile Environment registry and environment variables, but they are available once the user is connected. I need info before the user connects.

Is there a VMware API that can be called or asked the host name?

    Thank you.

Not on the broker, but there are the startup scripts to log on to the computer virtual itself: http://pubs.vmware.com/view-52/topic/com.vmware.view.integration.doc/view_integration_startsession_script.9.2.html

Note that these executed when a virtual desktop computer allocated connection, not to the point that the client connects - it is possible for the customer to not complete the connection (crash, cancel, network failure) and so any what solution you design must handle this.

  • Access to Oracle Press VirtualBox virtual host

    Hello

I have a windows host system 8, install the Virtual Box last edition.

The guest operating system is Linux oracle that came with the selection of pre-designed developer programs Oracle's VM.

The virtual machine is set to HOST ONLY the network settings.

Now, the thing is I want to access the Oracle in the guest from my windows host computer.

the guest operating system indicates the IP 192.168.56.101. I can ping the IP address of the HOST machine, but cannot connect to the

Developer SQL to oracle in the guest to the host OS. He goes on to say that impossible to connect the network card.

Please I need help, now please do not say that to install the oracle in the window itself. In fact, I want to do the same on my macbook pro since it is my main machine.

    Hello guys,.

Thanks for the responses you provided really appreciate it.

I made this connection and access between the host and the guest, and to access the oracle on the guest database.

    System information:

    • MacBook Pro - OS X 10.8.4
    • RAM 4 GB [go to 8 GB]
    • Package VM: Oracle Virtual Box
    • Guest VM: Oracle VM [ http://goo.gl/dtbzO ] developer pre-designed program selection
    • Network connection: host only

Steps to connect the host to host

    1. If you see the "ifconfig", you will see a network card named 'vboxnet0' [created after the installation of VB]
    2. Check the address allocated to the virtual machine [MAC]-> preferences-> network: copy the beginning or between address, which in my case has been 192.168.56.101 [start a]
    3. Assign the address to the vboxnet0 adepter by terminal: sudo ifconfig vboxnet0 alias 192.168.56.101 to the top
    4. Change the virtual machine network affecting "Host," only
    5. Select the vboxnet0 virtual adapter in the adapter list, apply the configurations, click ok
    6. Start the guest operating system and login
    7. Check the IP configuration it by ifconfig, you will find the map eth0 with the same IP address that you assigned to the vboxnet0 on the host machine.
    8. Sql Developer on the host machine fire
    9. Make a new connection and "Hostname" as even as the vboxnet0 IE. 192.168.56.101, fill in the other details of the connection details Oracle needed comments
    10. Test the connection
    11. Woollaaaa you are finished

  • Restore the virtual hard drive backup on a different node with different IP and host name.

    Hi guys,.
I want to do the following.

My reliable backup strategy is the virtual hard drive backup. The database is installed on a virtual particulay machine (node). Now, I do not take the backup of the DBF files or control files or files from archive.
I rely on the virtual hard disk backup. It takes the entire Virtual Machine backup. Now, I wanted to restore this virtual hard drive backup to a different node with different IP and host name.
But before I start the database, there are some things I need to do.
As change address IP address and the hostname registered with the database installed and its services.

Please guide me through the steps on how to perform the activity.

    Concerning
    Lam...
    SOA admin.

I think that the whole operating system will be restored in a new virtual machine... I have it... The changes will have to be done in the file listener.ora (hostname or IPADDRESS and also PORT NO in case you want another port as the existing one). Once you have made the changes that you have to bounce the listener, I mean stop and start the listener... I don't think that any other changes are needed... Make sure that the same need for entries (from the listener) to be included in the TNSNAMES file. ORA file both client-side... The tns service is used to connect to the remote database server (from the demand side or whatever source you used to connect to the database server)... I just think that the change to do... Hope its clear... Please try...

    Problem is perhaps because:

PRCI-1144 : Failed to retrieve Oracle Grid Infrastructure home path

    PRKC-1144 : File "/etc/oracle/olr.loc" not found.

All the ideas I'm watercraft evil and how to finally install the Oracle?

I found the reason for this exception. If someone will face the same problem just create/etc/oracle folder and give it permissions 777. For me, it helped.

  • Host name is too long

    Hi guys

I try to install Oracle Database 12 c R1 on Windows Server 2008 R2 in a MS AD domain, but I'm running into the INS-20808 error Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction Server has no

The log file says that my hostname is too long:

NEWS: Read: Service is being created.

WARNING: Line break: Service is being created.

NEWS: Read: error: host oracleDBhost001.global.domain1.xxxxx01 name is too long.

WARNING: Line break: error: host oracleDBhost001.global.domain1.xxxxx01 name is too long.

My question: what is the maximum length to be used for the host name? I can't find that it documented anywhere

    Kind regards

    Andrew

Your host name exceeds 32 characters - try with 32 or less, although I'm not aware of a limit of 32 characters.

  • Redirect TNS on 2 node RAC returns host name, should be the FQDN

    Hello

our 2-node RAC (11 GR 1 matter, Linux x 64) listeners return only a host without a domain name name when TNS redirects sending (when you load balancing server-side). Is it possible to configure them to send complete domain names? Listener.ora files are configured with full domain names on both nodes.

I really want the FQDNs, because clients must connect from multiple DNS domains.

Oracle takes the name of vip of the local_listener parameter set to the database.
So make sure your whole DB instance local_listener parameter the name of domain name vip.

    local_listener=LISTENER_DB1

--- on tnsnames.ora file, it lists as follows:

    LISTENER_DB1=
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = node1-vip.domain_name)(PORT = 1521))
    )

  • Angular 2 http.get () fails with "cannot resolve the host name.

I am trying to get 2 angular (well, ionic 2 actually, but the call failure is part of the kinetic moment) to shoot some json from the web. My code works fine on iOS or Android (via Cordova), but fails on any call http.get () on 10 of BlackBerry. Initially, I had problems because I did not in the whitelist the URL I was trying to download, but after whitelisting now runs the get call, but always fails. The error message "cannot resolve the host name.

Does anyone have an idea why angular is unable to resolve an external host name when running on BlackBerry 10?

Never mind... my bad. I encounter this problem when running my Ionic/angular application on a simulator. For me to get always consistent on many simulators BB10 different IP addresses I've run, rather than to allow VMware Player feeding the DHCP server (because it does no reservations of IP), I run a TinyCore Linux server on the same virtual network as simulators, just so that I can use DHCP on the instance of TinyCore instead Allowing no reserves. Unfortunately, I did not complete the configuration of TinyCore properly so nothing on the virtual network becomes a valid gateway or the DNS server list to access the outside world.

When I run my application on my Z10 physics, it works fine.
