  Dear community!

  I made a recording of the screen, about 30 sec with Quicktime Player. This video (.mov) I want to insert in my Captivate 8 E-Conference. I want it to start automatically when the slide in the Conference is reached.

  It is now .mov is not possible with captivate, so I changed it to .flv. But the quality is quite bad and also after the publication of my E-Conference there are problems, the video does not play or you play the video.

  I do also registration form through captivate? If not, what is the best way to insert a video in a conference-E? Is there a possibility that the video starts automatically with the slide? I Don t want to look like a video, I want the person who looks at the conference E-think it's a normal blade. Is this possible?

  Hello

  Simply insert the SWF file on a first (perhaps blank slide) of each tutorial with Insert, Animation. Check the tab Options of Properies, time to play for the duration of the animation and perhaps to synchronize with the project. Do not forget that the frames per second setting of the SWF file is the same as your CP file. The default fps for CP4 is 30, can be found in the preferences (under Edit menu), project, publish settings. Here, you'll also see the version used Actionscript (AS2 or AS3); This should be the same version as the one used for your SWF.

  You can also create a separate project with the SWF and comes out a blade of menu which link you to all the tutorials. At the end of each tutorial, you will have to branch again to the menu project.

  This is the first time that I had this problem. I insert the flash drive in the ubs port and the computer asks me to insert the disc. I right click on drive H and click Open and asked to insert the disk in the computer.

  1. This only happens when using the Flash Player?

  You can try to change the drive letter and check.

  a. right-click on my computer and choose Manage

  b. click on disk management

  c. right-click on your USB key and select 'change drive letter and paths '.

  d. reinsert the flash drive to the computer and see if it works

• Insert symbol 9 Captivate does not

  I am trying to insert the copyright symbol into a line of text.  When I click on the button to insert symbol, the computer seems to freeze.  Nothing happens, the box will not open and I can't click on anything else.  When I click Esc I can't go to work in the course...

  Any ideas?  I used captivate on and off the years and this is a first for me.

  Did you upgrade from an earlier version or install the patch for version 9.0.2? In this case, could you clean up preferences and delete the Layouts folder in public documents while Captivate is closed, if you have not done before installing the patch/version?

  I missed the part about ESC to your original question, sorry. Shank pointed out what could be another cause of your problems.

• Question slide insert problem in Captivate 9 Responsive Design project

  I'm trying to insert a question after a slide in the project but Captivate keeps placing below the new issue with a pile of other issues in the project. When she did this, I can't move the slide to the post I want to in class stream nor can I move any other current slide. What should I try?

  That's what I did: I deleted the cache. I tried the previous iterations of the project without result. A conditional question: I am not connected to the internet on this computer. which would affect the behavior of classes?

  I don't know if there is any problem with how to set quiz preferences but I don't know that I have not had any problems with the insertion of slides where I wanted them earlier in the development of the project.

  The usual reason for this behavior is that you try to insert a quiz with Questions before the test.  Questions before the test can be placed at the beginning of a lesson BEFORE all other issues for the main quiz quiz.

  I created a course of six modules, which all have a short quiz at the end. During the preview of the project with the project manager, quiz slides do not move forward in the preview of the course (and no more than the bar room). I had to go and remove the quiz slides and slides of results in order to highlight the entire course of my manager.

  Now that I'm trying to work on game shows, I am able to insert question slides but not the results slides that I would appear at the end of each short quiz.  This could be a framework global quiz I should change? Is there a way I can reset the quiz in the course and start from the beginning (with slides of results displayed)?

  I realize it's probably 101 stuff for everything that you users of Captivate veterans, but please bear with me... I am a newbie to Captivate.

  I am little confused: you can have only a single slide quiz and 01:20 in a CP-file (requirement of SCORM) and you seem to talk about several slides of results?  That should mean that you have created custom intermediate score slides as I explained here: Intermediate Score slides - Captivate blog

  Or each module in a separate cptx file? The slide of score will not be deleted at all, it's just hidden. You can make it visible again using preferences, settings, "Score at the end of the Quiz Show" Quiz

  Regarding the reset of the questions that is possible using the recovery button. Return to the user will be sent to the first slide question or being marked. This means that you will have to provide more than 1 attempt on Quiz level. More information about the slide in question/score:

  I noticed that some objects in a project better / have different features when they are published in the form of html 5 for example - the bar of playback on a video of the event has an option "full screen" and is more beautiful than its counterpart in flash.  Is it possible to use this bar to reading without published as HTML5? Or can I just publish the content of HTML5 on the LMS?  Guess I should just experiment and discover...

  Yes.  The preview in Captivate is generated by the Flash.  You forget that HTML5 involves a plethora of different browsers and devices.  Currently, it is not possible to show you what the results will be in the output for all of these variations of platform for the end user.

I did the media/insert/SWF and added the flash and the expressInstall and swfobject_modified files but when I try it on the browser without flash news... The page just trying to install/upgrade to update flash player, which is already installed and updated... What should I do?

  It is a known issue for some imports of Flash file in DW. A bug has been reported to Adobe, and they are working to resolve this.

• Synchronization of a Flash with Captivate movie

  Does anyone know how to connect, or synchronize, an animation to a CS5 Captivate editing such as each frame of the animation is related to a respective image on the slide of Cp? In other words, I want image 1 of my animation to start frame 1 of my blade Cp (which it currently doesn't, no matter where I put it on the timeline of Cp), and I would lilke the animation, take a break and play depending on what the slide of Cp.

  Here's what I did:

  I made a slideshow animation Flash CS5, I put on a slide of Cp at the top of the audio. The animation is 35.5 seconds, identical to the slide of Cp.

  I put the animation at the beginning of the timeline, said playing for the "rest of the slide" and checked "Synchronize with project" (which does nothing as far as I can tell).

  I put a stop (); command at the end of the animation, so it does not repeat itself (and it's literally the only code I have right here).

  The animation and the Cp are both at 30 frames per second.

  This is what happens when previewing the project (F4ing):

  When the project comes to this slide, the frame of the slide (click on audio/boxes/buttons/etc) works well, but when the slide starts, it starts in the middle of the animation. For example, at the start of the slide, frame 1 Cp slide plays during the framework (for example...) 75 on the animation sets.

  The animation begins at a different location each time.

  Also, when I stop the slide, the animation continues to play, which compounds the problem. I want the animation to pause when the slide of Cp is paused.

  I know that animations usually have a certain way, but I would like to know if there is a way to change its behavior to make everything work together. Best of cases, there is an option somewhere that I'm on, and worse, I imagine that there is a way to write some actionscript in the Flash animation which tells Framework 1 to always be attached to the frame the Cp 1 and frame 2 to always attached to the PC 2, etc, with each image frame. I'm new with Actionscript, so I don't know how to do this.

  Hi Brian,.

  After watching your .fla to the animation file and doing some research, I found the problem.  As Rod Ward correctly noted in this post:

  Captivate 5 was a total rewrite of the software architecture of Captivate 4 and it introduced a subtle, but a fundamental change in the way as animations Flash have been addressed in Captivate content published.

  Change means basically if your animation was built at a level or two inside a symbol rather than on the main timeline to the next level, then you will find that Captivate 5 or 5.5 loads and runs the animation on the first slide of the movie. This means that the moment where you arrive at the current slide where you WANTED the animation to make it is magic, it has already run and completed.

  Captivate 4 What did not.  The entertainment was not really busy until late in the chronology of the film to be ready for the slide where it was needed.  It didn't matter if the animation was buried inside a symbol or not.

  You have two choices:

  1. Improve your animation so that everything happens on the main timeline of the FLA Flash file it generates.
  2. Download your Flash programmer to add ActionScript code to the animation, so that it does NOT completely when loaded for the first time at the beginning of the project when running.

  Looking at your FLA file, I noticed you had a symbol MovieClip/called "Animations" containing the time line but the time of the main .fla movie line was virtually empty.  Following the logic of option 1, I moved all the layers of time line "Animations" to the root of movie .fla time line and that fixed it.  In Captivate, I also checked "Synchronize with project" for the properties of the animation and the animation actually pause and play when I put paused and played the film of Cp.

  So the key is to make sure you use the time line main for any animation you develop in Flash Professional.

• Need help inserting flash animation in the article...

  I inserted the video into flash movie. I loaded the .swf and .fla files on a server and is gone in the properties of the flash movie and pointing to the server to retrieve the .fla file & file .swf controls.  I can listen to clips from the movie in flash without problem.

  I am wanting to use the object code that has been created within the .html file that was generated by the flash and insert this into an article to display the video.  I traced the .swf file in the code object to point to where it resides on the server, but the video will not play using the code object only. Is there a way to do it using only one object or code without the need for integration scripts?

  (I'm using version CS4)

  If the swf file does not reside in the same folder as the html page that loads, so if the video is dynamically loaded into the Flash file, chances are the targeting in the swf file needs to be adjusted.  If swf files target just the video of his single file name, try to put the video file in the same folder as the html file and see if it is responsible.

  In addition, I deleted the code swfobject.registerObject (FlashID) on the file http.
  The dreamweaver gave an error message that the swfobject.registerObject (FlashID) of code can cause the error during the download of the flash.

  Finally, all flash, swf, and http files have been downloaded.

  But I still have the above error message.

  In the past, I managed to download the flash using the method above, although I have not any message about swfobject.registerObject (FlashID).

  Could someone help me and point out what has gone wrong?

  Based on the error message that the problem is related to html, not a SWF file.

• Are there known issues w / insert flash CS4 video?

  I tried to find the cause and the solution to my problem w / insert a flash video (created by conversion to FLV mp4) on my site.  For now, I use a test page until I have the solution.  In CS4, I choose INSERT, MEDIA, FLV...  All work as expected.  I put all the files, including 4 dependent files created by CS4 on my remote server.  I am able to successfully use 'Live View' and also with success seen in IE and Firefox.  However, when I go to the page on my site, I get the message in my status bar, "Waiting for www.firstreflectionav.com...» ».  The page is http://www.firstreflectionav.com/test/Untitled-3.html.  I am absolutely convinced that I put all the local files on my remote server.  Are there known problems that could explain this behavior?  Thank you.
