    How to create an application, which allows me to download an xml file and insert the file into a table, looking something like what makes the apex, with 'data-> data-> Data Load XML Workshop'.

    This idea is troubling for me.

    The XML file DOES NOT CHANGE.  This is the goal.  You have a DTD/XST that defines where in the XML hierarchy, a data element is and (so) how to access it.  With this information, you can hardcode things.

    Therefore, you should have no reason for that functionality 'map the data column in the table column"of the data loader since all mappings will be always the same.

    As a simple INSERT... The SELECT statement can (and should) be used.

    (use the FUSION if you update / insert data).

    I copy + paste some of my code in a procedure that I use.

    You will need to replace the parameter name (p_filename) with the value of appropriate link (name of item)

        /* get file from APEX WWV_FLOW_FILES */

  • Error when inserting XML file into a table in Oracle10g

    Hi team,

    I'm trying to insert an xml file into an Oracle 10g XMLType table. During the insertion, I get following error:

    ERROR on line 1:
    ORA-22285: non-existent directory or file for FILEOPEN operation
    ORA-06512: at "SYS." DBMS_LOB", line 523
    ORA-06512: at "SYS." XMLTYPE", line 287
    ORA-06512: at line 1

    I did following steps.

    (1) create the DIRECTORY xml_dir as 'c:\xmldata ';

    (2) create table xmltab XMLType;

    The following packages are executed by schema 'Sys '.

    (1) dbmslob. SQL;
    (2) prvtlob. PLB;

    A xmldata folder is created under "c:\". "and with data_file.xml file is stored in it.

    After Insert stmt is executed that returns gives above error.

    Insert in xmltab values (XMLType (bfilename('xml_dir','data_file.xml'), nls_charset_id ('AL32UTF8')))

    Can you please give me a solution. It is very urgent.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    After selecting the data in table xmltab I just got first line of the file xmldata. That is to say
    http://baro

    This must be a display problem.
    What client tool are you using and what version?

    If SQL * Plus, you won't see all content unless you set some options:
    {code}
    LONG VALUE
    SET LONGCHUNKSIZE
    {code}

    Could you try the following?
    {code}
    THE VALUE OF 10000 LONG

    SELECT t.object_value.getclobval () IN xmltab t;

    -to force printing:
    SELECT extract (t.object_value, ' / *'). getclobval() xmltab t;
    {code}

    Hello

    Please provide all pertinent details!

    Please correct my insert if statement it must be.

    You have a few bad XPath.
    Here's a way to unnest correctly repeated elements:

  • Load the XML file into oracle using sql loader

    Hello

    I'm trying to load an xml file into a table using sqlldr.
    I have a table as follows:
    CREATE TABLE xmlloadtable
    ( id number,
     data_xml XMLType
     )
      XmlType data_xml STORE AS CLOB;
    I have a control file that I know is perfectly false:
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE '/home/oraread/'
    INTO TABLE xmlloadtable
    (
    id,
    data_xml
    )
    I googled for the file control and tried in different ways, but of no use.
    I want to load the entire xml file into the table.
    Can someone help me with the correct control file. Any help is appreciated!

    Try this

    LOAD DATA
    INFILE '/home/oraread/'
    INTO TABLE xmlloadtable
    (id,
     file_name          filler,
     data_xml          lobfile(file_name) terminated by eof
    )

    You can add the file as a column name field to your table between the id and xml column and remove the word to fill in the .ldr file if you need to keep the name of the file

    I load this XML data file into a single table using an external Table. Could someone help me please with coding.

    Thank you

    Reva

    Could you please help me how to insert my XML content into that.

    Same as before, try a plain old INSERT:

    insert into xml_pecos

    values)

    XmlType (bfilename ('XML_DIR', "test.xml"), nls_charset_id ('AL32UTF8'))

    );

    But you'll probably hit the same limitation as with the binary XMLType table.

    In this case, you can use FTP to load the file as a resource in the XML DB repository.

    If the XML schema has been registered with the hierarchy enabled then the file will be automatically inserted into the table.

    Could you post the exact statement that you used to save the scheme?

    In the meantime, you can also read this article, I did a few years ago, it covers the XML DB features that may be useful here, including details on how to load the file via FTP:

    https://odieweblog.WordPress.com/2011/11/23/Oracle-XML-DB-a-practical-example/

    My sample_tbl has a start_time field and its data type DATE.

    Good.  Be sure to always store dates as the DATE.

    The application (in this case, APEX) needs to format the date date type in the appropriate human-readable format.

    The problem with the incoming data is the 't'.  You will need to convert a space using REPLACE() in the framework so that your SELECT statement

    From there on, conversion to the DATE data type is simply

    to_date( replace( start_time_str, 'T', ' '), 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS') as start_time

    And, just in case where, the conversion of DATE for the desired format:

    to_char( start_time, 'MM/DD/YYYY HH12:MI:SS AM')

    Although, I'm 'hours' as being left-padded with zeros... Am I looking for how / if you can get rid of the zero prefix (0).

  • Could not use DB function call to insert a row into a table OBIEE

    Hello

    At the prompt of the OBIEE report, I create a DB function in a variable column of the guest, so whenever I'm in the dropdown variable ob column call the function DB call.

    The function call is insert a row into a table in the database. However, it seems impossible to insert the row into the table.

    I have test the function in the sqlplus and it works, if the function has no problem. The problem is OBIEE failed to insert something in the datebase, it can only read from it.

    Any ideas on how I could fix it?

    Thank you!

    Hello
    Use your Evaluate function and the variable correctly. In the case where u called this function evaluate in the report in a column, and he has 100 files it contains, it will call db 100 times.

    Kind regards

  • import files into a table

    Hello

    I need to import files into a table from a database. After importing I must record in another table, the name of the file, the current date and the State of import (0 - import ok, 1 error import etc.). All files has the same structure but different file names.

    Is there any possibility of cycle in the folder, import a file in the table and after that save filename to another table with the State of importation?

    Thanks in advance

    Gabi

    Hi Gabi,.

    Assuming that you have a set of files (.txt, .csv,...) in a folder with the same structure, but different file names.

    Solution:

    Get all the names of files and insert these names in a table temporary temp_filenames (filename, status).
    with the status of 'R' (walking).

    Delete No .txt temp_filenames .csv file names (for examle if no void / files / other file names are here).

    Add a v_filename variable (select * from temp_filenames where status 'R' limit 1)

    Create datastore source with the name of varaiable (#v_filename).
    (remove file extensions, the spaces between the names of files... all by creating tables in DB,)
    for this, you can use a variable more / apply your logic)

    the flow of processes in a loop (make sure whetehr the count is greater than 0 for the variable)
    If its gerater trhan 0 then processes the file with #v_filename.
    Once the upadate process successful status as a ' other (completed) 'E' (error)

    This will make a loop for all files in your folder

    Once the process is complete, you can insert the status of paper in your journal table looking into temp_filenames.
    Then delete all temporary tables you created

    Please let me know if you need further help with this.

  • APEX 5: FILE item type to BROWSE not load file into the table apex_application_temp_files

    Hello

    I am trying to load the BLOB (CSV file) into apex_application_temp_files table using the file_browse item type. I have created an example page and the added element of type file_browse, added a dynamic action, which send item to browse.

    Also added a button load that submits the page. But when I check the apex_application_temp_files of APEX sql workhop table, nothing appears.

    I purge file to "end of Session. Enclosed screen shot as well.Capture.PNG

    Thank you

    Ankit

    Hi Pierre,.

    has added a dynamic action, submitting travel item.

    How can you submit just the element go? How your dynamic action look like?

    But when I check the apex_application_temp_files of APEX sql workhop table, nothing appears.

    It is by design, because the sight of apex_application_temp_files limited to your current session. In your case at the session of constructor and not your application.

    Add a process to the page that contains the item "Browse file" when you use

    select *
      from apex_application_temp_files
     where name = :page item name;

    to access your downloaded BLOB.

  • Insert the object into the table

    Hi all

    I would insert my type of object in a table without specifying the name of the variable.

    That's my bad example:

    create or replace type MY_TYPE_OBJ as object
    (
      val1 number,
      val2 number,
      val3 number
    );
    /

    CREATE TABLE MY_TABLE of MY_TYPE_OBJ;
    /

    declare
        myType   MY_TYPE_OBJ;
    begin

      myType := new MY_TYPE_OBJ(1, 2, 3);

      insert into MY_TABLE values (myType.val1, myType.val2, myType.val3);

    end;
    /

    As you can see, on my last procedure, I had to use the insert into statement with val1, val2, val3 name filed.

    Is there a quicker way to insert an object into a table? In the production environment of the object type that almost 100 filed is not so friendly to write each one by one.

    Thank you

    Federico

    Example:

    SQL> create or replace type TFoo as object(
      2          attr1   integer,
      3          attr2   varchar2(10),
      4          attr3   date
      5  );
      6  /

    Type created.

    SQL>
    SQL> create table footab of TFoo(
      2          attr1 primary key,
      3          attr2 not null
      4  ) organization index
      5  /

    Table created.

    SQL>
    SQL> declare
      2          foo     TFoo;
      3  begin
      4          foo := new TFoo( 1, 'test1', trunc(sysdate) );
      5          insert into footab values foo;
      6  end;
      7  /

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    SQL>
    SQL> select * from footab;

         ATTR1 ATTR2      ATTR3
    ---------- ---------- -------------------
             1 test1      2014/08/27 00:00:00

    SQL>

    I agree though - be careful with tables of objects and now their technical implementation and advantages and disadvantages.
