Inspiron 1525 won't recognize Samsung SSD 840

I try to install Windows 7 Home 64 bit to a new 840 Samsung SSD. It has been one problem after another, but I'll try to make the point.

Tried to install DVD that starts very well and then right before the tax EULA says I need a CD/DVD driver (!). How to be with if this is really the case? I can't find any driver for it from the Dell support site so I'm stuck there.

Anyway. A lot of research later. Know that startup and installation of the USB will work around that. It's true! I can accept the EULA and it goes to which I select the hard drive. No hard drive is displayed.

Laptop firmware has been updated to A17. No joy.

I can connect the SSD drive to another computer, and it will go looking for it as internal hard drive so I don't think it's DOA.

I tried updating the firmware on the SSD to see if that would help. Although the 'Magician' utility recognizes and allows me to choose the drive, I get the following message:

"Magician can not communicate with certain Samsung SSD. If please check with other compatible storage drivers and try again. »

.. so I can't do either.

Is there anything else I need to do to get the Inspiron 1525 to see that SSD?

Thank you all.

for the ssd to appear, you must get something to fill the void left from the old mechanical drive as it was larger than the ssd

the problem is that you think that it goes in the slot, but in reality that the ssd is not involved it slip just right under the sata port.

You can get support (most new ssd now come with one) and just fix it with the ssd and insert it

  • 17-j111sl and Samsung SSD 840 EVO HP

I just buy a HP Envy series, after discovering that two places are available for the HD box, I was wondering what were the procedures to install a 840 EVO primary HD SSD Samsung (then with the OS and programs launch frequent thereon) and use the HARD drive I gave with the computer as a second HD for storage of static data.
Thank you for your help in advance.

The first thing you need is a second disc hard caddy/cable here:

    http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?Main_Page=product_info&cPath=2_5&products_id=542

    http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?Main_Page=page&ID=39

Since the product number you give is for a portable computer released in Italy I will assume that you live in Italy. Newmodeus.com is supplied in Italy. I couldn't find this unit on eBay Italy. I know there are European dealers for the products and supports similar 2d for the hard disk of the aftermarket, but prices tend to be not better than buy newmode and pay international shipping.

The best way to get the software on the original disk SSD is a clone and once you have the hard drive kit 2d, you can make the clone entirely inside the laptop. Put the SSD in the second span to start the clone and then swap the drives.

For cloning, there are a lot of programs out there. I like to use Acronis True Image Home 2014. @erico has also published a guide to cloning here:

Depending on the size of the SSD you buy, you will not be able to use the recovery DVD or player is Recovery Manager for the thumb. So, you can skip this part of the thread.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft community.

Samsung galaxy 3, description of the problem, will not recognize Windows 7. I'll be happy to help you on the issue.

    1. do you get an error message?
    2. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

This problem may occur if the hardware is not detected on the computer or the USB ports are not getting detected.

Method 1: I suggest you run the hardware and devices Troubleshooter and see if that helps.

Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter

Do not safe mode with network. It will try to load too many drivers.

Try mode safe mode with command prompt since it will charge just a necessary drivers. If it does, you can try the above commands.

Only other option would be to try to start with a Linux LIVE CD/USB. (IE Ubuntu, Mint, or puppy or another other Dist you prefer).

  • Inspiron 1721 won't recognize hard drive

I replaced new hard drives with virgins, but I cannot now reinstall Vista from the DVD of resettlement because no disk is considered.

I updated the BIOS to the latest version available, but still no joy.

I took on the readers and, using an external HARD drive port, can be accessed from another PC, so I am sure that there are no problems with the discs themselves.

I tried the Paragon Suite 2010, but even this cannot 'see' readers, so I deduce that it is a problem with this model of Dell.

I would be grateful for any advice.

    Hello

I have just pluged a Samsung SSD 840 evo on a T7500 (the sata plug 0 of the motherboard) and did a fresh install of Windows 7 64-bit.
Everything seems fine, that I can write this post on my PC upgraded, but I'm a little frustrated, as Samsung magician, SSD supplied management software, tells me that the AHCI is not enabled, and "it is impossible to detect the SATA interface. Therefore, I will not have the installation of the SSD... I checked the windows regestry and key "msahci' as the value 0 for 'start', which seems OK.

I missed something? Any help would be much apreciated!

  • SAMSUNG SSD of 840 EVO and the compatibility of the Inspiron 17 5748

Does anyone know how to get a Samsung SSD to work in an Inspiron 5748? A BIOS update would be useful?

There is absolutely no problem regarding the SSD compatibility, some very old systems here are held in SSD Samsung and Dell used their Samsung SSD OEM partner.

I strongly suggest a clean format and install (remove all clear them partitions beforehand or course the reader) it could be a matter of hunting wild goose if you perform a new installation, and it will be difficult to diagnose.

Wizard software should have told you regarding the State of health of the reader? If it is GOOD then its most likely your electronics semi-fresh install it here is the root cause.

  • Desktop HP Envy h8 - 1420t CTO: problem Samsung SSD causing with upgrading 8.0 to 8.1 Windows

I can't upgrade my OEM installed Windows 8.0 to 8.1 HP desktop computer.  First, I tried the upgrade when 8.1 was deployed for the first.  It seemed to level OK, but after a reboot I found myself with a black screen... no error message, just a black screen.

I retried it this morning, but this time it failed with DPC_Watchdog_Exception, then Machine_Check_Exception.  After looking in several forums, I'm "guess" it is maybe disk 0, which is a Samsung 830 Series SSD (model: MZ7PC256 / 0:1, s/n: S0U3NSAC705912 p/n: MZ7PC256HAFU - 000: 1) which has been installed and configured by HP, when I ordered this computer from office in 2012.

Magician of Samsung software does not recognize this SDS supported a product, but they identify it as a Samsung MZ7PC256HAFU - 000: 1, with Firmware version CXM05H1Q.  I thought I'd see if a firmware update is available, but there is no information about this SSD on the Samsung support site. In addition, HP doesn't offer not just any which firmware for this SSD, not even the original firmware.  What I saw on the internet says that it is a custom SSD OEM which is not taken in charge by Samsung.

I'm not desperate to upgrade to Win8.1, but I would like to know exactly why the canned upgrade fails.  I have an other available SSD (a Samsung 850 Pro, model: MZ-7KE256BW) that I considered to use to replace the current drive 0, but I hate swapping parts without knowing that this is really the problem.

I am open to advice. The info on my current system follows. Furthermore, I note that there is no conflict of devices or outdate drivers.

    Hello

Don't forget that the W8 is fully updated before upgrading to W8.1. I would suggest to run for a while after the W8.1 update and see if your PC is stable.  If so, then manually a system restore point and then continue the Windows Update process. If your PC is stable after that Windows updates have been applied then manually take another system restore point and proceed to apply the HP recommended software updates for the W8.1 that are posted for your PC.

  • Dell Inspiron 1525 - unrecognized on external screen HDMI output

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with a HDMI output port.  I have had no success with getting a display actually receive a signal from the laptop.

I tried Windows 7 and Ubuntu and when I connect the hdmi cable to my TV, the laptop instantly detects a second display device, and I can even move my mouse cursor off the screen of my laptop when the 'extended display' expected to appear on the TV (clone of office, only showing the screen hdmi using FN + F8 ", etc. also does not display anything).  I tried all ports hdmi on the TV and have also tried external monitors with hdmi inputs, I tried three different hdmi cables that work with other devices, even once, the laptop recognizes the display and I can only activate the display in Windows/Ubuntu, but the external monitor receives a signal from the laptop.  Yes, I have made sure the TV/external monitors are set to the appropriate hdmi source.  I tried to have two devices turned off with the attached cable, then by restarting, etc..

The Samsung TV that I want the output to work on will display a message "searching for signal" when I attach the hdmi cable, but after a few seconds will display "no signal". The problem is to get a real view on the external display device.  How can I get my hdmi port to send the signal my TV or other screen?  I spent hours on google and nothing has helped.  Any advice would be appreciated.

I just thought I would update this thread that I surprisingly fixed this problem.  There was a missing screw under the laptop where the HDMI port.  I ordered a few screws replacement on EBay and I replaced where the screw should be.  There were a few other missing screws as well (I got the used laptop) that I replaced.  After filling in all the gaps, I tried the HDMI connection and it worked immediately.  No idea how or why that fixed the HDMI port, but he did.
