  I got a BB Curve 3 g 9300 for a week; I'm in England, and I have as well as a T-Mobile contract, Phones4U store in London.  Before agreeing to buy the BB and the contract, I went through a whole bunch of things that I wanted to be able to do with the seller and received assurances that they were all possible without additional cost beyond the contract.

  Now, the thing is that this contract includes unlimited T-Mobile internet, but does not include the T-Mobile "Blackberry Booster" - which I think is the terminology of T-Mobile for the BIS.

  After checking with a nice lady to T-Mobile, I didn't expected to be a problem, because she said that the Blackberry Booster is necessary for e-mail system push Blackberry and Blackberry Messenger, neither of which I want.

  Since then, however, I had regular problems with the GMail application (saying "this application requires a working data connection") and BB App World (with a similar message of not being able to connect to the server).  This is not the case all the time - sometimes both work very well.  But they do not (as described) approximately 40% of the time, and of course, it is enough to say that I can't rely on them.

  So I just called T-Mobile again and this time I was told this was caused by not only not the Blackberry Booster.  The person I spoke claimed that Blackberry power to prevent my apps to work (as I described) and that they periodically scan combined BB and disconnect people like me who are not pay for Booster/BIS.

  So now I wonder if it's really true and - in other words - that it's effectively impossible to use a BB correctly without the Booster/BIS.  If you are sure that you know about it, just reply to tide me over!

  I should add that you can find out something about the GMail problem anywhere on the web, many different solutions proposed.  But most of the success is old, and my impression is that none of the solutions are final.  I also tried most of the suggestions, and they have not helped.  (An important is only that I have not yet tried redownloading books service, because I do not understand, and because it sounds like it is bound to have BIS.)

  Hi there, Neil.

  That is right.  To use BlackBerry App World and other applications like GMail, Facebook, and Twitter, you need a BlackBerry data package and access to BIS.  Without access BIS, these applications work properly, even if you access GMail online via your browser and you can manually download the applications through your computer.

  I want the icons for the native "tasks" and "Notepad" apps in OS7 appears on the home screen of my BB9900.  The icons currently on the "common" screen only and the apps work from there.

  I've tried holding down the button menu until a menu jump to the top, but the menu does not include the options of 'move' or 'move to folder '.  In fact, the options of 'move' do not seem to appear for all elements of the 'common' screen

  Someone knows what to do?  FYI, I use the version of the b-berry for Mac desktop software.

  "Frequent" is a dynamic screen; your BB automatically there are some things that you use frequently. There is therefore, no manual way to move that you describe (since its automatic and dynamic, based on your usage). On the contrary, what you find is the master for these applications... icon probably they are inside your "Applications" folder, normally visible on the screen "All".

  We understand that not all developers have access to a physical device, which is the Simulator comes in. The Simulator you usually gives a good idea of how your application will run on a physical device, and you can absolutely submit this application for review of the BlackBerry World. If problems arise, the BlackBerry World team will let you know of those that need to be corrected before the application can be approved for sale.

  This is true for WebWorks, Android, etc. The BlackBerry World team reviews your application and provide feedback if there are all the important issues which seem to be broken. If you have tested the application elsewhere however, generally you should not be from.

  It is a problem with the installer of Google that I was not able to find a complete solution to.

  You can try to make a copy of the folder 'tools', designating something as "toolsCopy" and run "android.bat" from this directory via command line.

  Other than that, you might find some success audit StackOverflow.

  How do we get the link for the seller and the app itself, so that it can be placed in the application when submitted?

  For example, the application can have a link to itself in the BlackBerry world, so that they can share the app with others.  The submission process requires downloading a binary file (when you create an application in the provider Portal), or gives you a chance to get a link before you download the file bar?

  Just to start the submission process is enough to get an id assigned to the application.

  Throw a little meta-data and get the id from the url...

  I have a developed gui application and work - typical boot sequence - MyApp extends UIApplication and the MyApp main() method creates a new instance of the app and call app.enterEventDisplatcher ();

  in the constructor of MyApp, I create an instance of MyScreen which extends screen and implements FocusChangeListener.  so far so normal if I understand correctly.

  What I want is to be able to launch my application of the Ribbon and a menu screen in the standard BB calendar app.

  It is - how?

  I'm confused by several different messages/samples on the question to know if I need another point of entry or a new application to create the menu items in the standards BB calendar app.

  OK - the 'Ribbon' is the menu system app that appears when you select "switch application" in the menu system, or -press ESC on trackball devices, or press and hold the MENU button in 5.0 and later versions.

  What you are looking for is achieved by creating an ApplicationMenuItem and adding the ApplicationMenuItem to the ApplicationMenuItemRepository (for the application of the target).

  You can add a menu to the app Messages, calendar, tasks, maps, etc. (most BB apps). When your menu item is selected, the menu item "run" method is called, passing a context object. The specific object type varies from application to application.

  Of course, you'll want to sign up to the device to start menu items, so that's where the other entry point comes into play. Configure you your application for "autorun" and specify the parameter that is passed on Autostart, so that your application can make the difference between a boot system and an entry in the icon. Main() you will be SO called twice - once to start, and once again when the user clicks on the icon.

  Another thing to know - when your menu item run() is called, it's calle in the context of the application of BB. Because of the sorting thread, this app context will see a different "static" context in your application. You can read about Singletons and other entry Point before starting this project. It is complex and is an area that generates a number of horizons of discussions on this forum.

• Gate presentation app BlackBerry PlayBook

  Hi all

  I wrote and published a BlackBerry app that is available in the BlackBerry App World. For the sake of argument let's call him "My App"

  I have worn since the game for the PlayBook with the same name and want to add it to the BlackBerry App World.

  However, I do not want to add it as a rejection of the PlayBook in my existing entry as a description is not entirely accurate, and screenshots would certainly not correct. What do you think is the best way to add the new app in App World?

  I might add an entry called 'My App for PlayBook', then check replace the names of JAD and put "My App" in the name, the same way call "My App" in the XML file in the project - "My App for PlayBook" becomes only an internal name for inside my portal provider, customers see "My App for PlayBook" in the App World and "My App" on their PlayBook screen when installing it?

  RIM are sensitive to the use of the "for PlayBook"?

• Swindled by an App blackBerry smartphones

  Hello. I chose to download one based on the number of positive comments he had scoured the apps in appworld. There has been negative reviews as well, but I couldn't tell if these users problems are as a result of the program or their suppliers, etc. So I took a chance.

  I got quite promptly, a confirmation email stating I was charged for the app and then I looked at the program starts to download. It was never finished. Moreover, when I look at my list of requests, it is not there. I went back to the app world to try to download again and the app now tells me that it is "Uninstall". How can something that never downloaded 'uninstall '? Or is it uninstalled the appworld?  There is no option for the re - download now. It's as if the program is untouchable.

  I am very disappointed and I would like some answers. Is it the fault of the developer? Is it the fault of the app world? What is my equipment? If there is a problem with the download, why can't I try to download it again? If there is a difficulty, I would prefer that.

  OR is it a scam?

  The records show that I paid but I have no product.

  What is my recourse? Which checks to ensure that the applications are legitimate? How can I prevent this kind of disappointment with a product of the world app again?

  Delete AppWorld in Options > advanced > Application.

  Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.

  The browser on your BlackBerry go to www.blackberry.com/appworld and download/install again.

• Messages.app and Facetime.app do not open after OSx updated 10.11.5 Mountain Lion

  Last night, I've updated my Macbook Pro in early 2011 at the El Capitan 10.11.5 Cougar (Yes, the leap). Open all apps to check out them, and Facetime.app and Messages.app are not open.

  FaceTime.app gives the message "an internal FaceTime error has occurred. There was a problem with Facetime. You must exit and reopen Facetime. "A few times. No change.

  Messages.app: Last night after update, I opened it and gives the message "Messages is updated... The database of Messages is in the process of modernization, please wait until it is finished or Messages Quit and restart it later. "Allowed to do that during the night (about 7 hours). App reopened this morning and nothing went up, no new window, no error message, no light 'walk' on the dock; but, if you click on it showed the "Application does not message." After a few re-openings, it's the message even 'Messages is updated"as above.

  I have not tried anything other than a restart.

  Any ideas on what to try? Thank you in advance!

  Fixed. I removed the Remote, reloaded app to my iPhone and then reinstated the info Apple ID and password in the app all connected immediately. The 'Remote' option is not always present under file/devices/Remote, but everything works well at this point.
