Install 32-bit programs on a 64 bit OS

Help! I am a student and recently bought a new laptop with Windows and 64-bit operating system. It has an AMD processor A-8 with 8 GB of ram. It's pretty fast. I have a copy of the Dragon Naturally Speaking 9.5 v. 32 bit. and it will not install on my computer. How can I do this? Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade would allow me to install this program? I bought the upgrade to install on my last computer with Vista 32-bit, but before I could install it, my laptop was stolen. I can't afford a new copy of the Dragon and desperately need because I can't type for s__t. Please notify. Thank you

Apparently, 9.5 does not work with any 32-bit Windows.

The first version to support 64-bit was 10.0.

Version 12.0 has been published. It should take advantage of the memory of your new computer.

After back back, very many updates of windows, my computer is full of problems and it is not representative of the restore points far enough back to correct.  I want really to save my data and programs for flash drive (s) and then go for a full recovery of the system (return to factory).  When you try to do the backup on a 4 GB USB key I get an error including 0 x 81000029.  I have seen posted answers to this.  Everything is included to aid Vista disk from the window which was not included when I bought my computer. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

The following article should be useful. To use system recovery options, you have Vista installation disc. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) repeatedly will install on the computer Windows recovery environment. To cross check if it is installed, try the following steps.

1 start the computer and press the F8 key continuously to get advanced boot menu options.
    2. on the menu advanced startup options, check if the Startup Repair tool is in the list.
    3. If so, select it and press ENTER.
    4. If not, then you should organize a Vista installation disc.

You may receive error messages when you try to perform a backup operation on a Windows Vista-based computer

  • Can I install 32-bit windows 8 on 64-bit Windows 7 home pre. Herbert

Can I install 32-bit windows 8 on Windows 7 64 bit home premiun

    Hi Nathan,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

According to the description, it looks like you want to install Windows 8 32 on a 64-bit computer.

Yes, but you can do this using Upgrade Wizard. If your PC has a 64-bit compatible processor (CPU), but is running a 32-bit version of Windows, you can install a 64-bit version of Windows 8 Pro, but you will need to buy it on DVD and perform a custom installation. It is available in your country or region, you can buy Windows 8 Pro at a participating retail store. You can also buy online at the Microsoft Store in Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States.

Please note that the Windows 8 Pro Pack is used for the upgrade of Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro and is not for the installation of multiple architectures and doesn't include any media. If you want to change the architectures, buy Windows 8 Pro.

You will not be able to keep all the files, settings, or the apps when you upgrade a 32-bit to a 64-bit version.

Visit the link to see the same thing:

See "Can I move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows 8" link and check:

I have Windows 7 Edition home premium installed 32-bit update. How can I upgrade to 64-bit? Will there be problems of validation so I re-install from scratch?

If you have purchased a retail package, it should include the disk for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Otherwise, you can download a backup copy at the following link and use the same product key that allows you to enable the 32-bit version. Its a possibility, you may need to reactivate by phone, see below for instructions:

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

  • install 64-bit on a 32-bit processor

I have a computer dell laptop, 4 GB of RAM, 32-bit operating system, x 64 based processor. The only problem is that I don't have my CD of 32-bit processor but I have a 64-bit processor CD, if I install 64-bit despite this condition?

    If Yes, then how?

    Hi Rohan,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Communities.

I'll be happy to help you with the issue you have with Installation.

Yes, you can install 64-bit on a 32-bit processor. However to move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version, you need to perform a "Custom" / Clean install because there is no 'Upgrade' path. ".

I suggest you back up all data before making a custom or a new installation of windows.

Hope this information is useful. Please report if you have any other questions. I'll be happy to help you.

    Thank you.

    Continue without 64 bit support?

Why this happens upward when the system is 64 bit, and I have no problem if I install the host of Type 1 (on the hardware itself), then I can run and install 64 bit comments without any problem.

It's in my lab because I'm studying for VCP and I try laboratories as the laboratory of CBT nuggets.

    Any suggestion on this issue.

    Thank you

VT is not passed through a system of comments, so you can run nested 64 bit guests on the virtualized ESX(I) hosts.

It seems to say that the file for this installation is damaged, but how can this be since the installation has worked before?

Get corrupted - it happens.  Jump drives die all the time.  You might be able to reformat (erase) and get more life out of it, or you can get a new USB, install again and use it until it is damaged again.

Average life of a disk is 5.2 years, but just like people, many drive die younger and many die older. You never know what will be yours.
