Install Adobe Flash player 10.1 popup won't stop popping up!

I have tried 3 weeks rid my computer of the popup "install adobe flash player. I have installed and uninstalled Flash Player as advised several times and contacted all the forums that I can find.  I don't think I should pay fees to remove something from Adobe installed on my computer without my knowledge (the pop-up reminder), the pop-up window appears whenever I start a program that can use it at least 15 - 20 times a day. I use windows XP Pro service pack 3. I use AOL and IE ver 8 for most of my browsing.  Thanks for any help.

This really seems to be specific to AOL; I found this other topic http://forums.adobe.com/message/2910121 (pending).

The question is: that pop up whence - that triggers it?  Is this something that is emitted at startup?

Can you check msconfig startup items there that may indicate something Adobe or FP?

In addition, there are forums AOL that can tackle the AOL browser / add-on problems?  (Where you could search FP_AX_CAB_INSTALLER.exe)
