  • Help - my ssd is missing 40 GB, after that I tried to install Bootcamp

Here's the situation. A few weeks back, I tried to install bootcamp and windows. He is not well, but don't forget windows at the moment.

The problem is that I have partitioned ssd in my Macbook Air, creating a new windows 40 GB in size. Win installation did not work, but now I can't retrieve the 40 GB. In fact, it is invisible. I thought I could fix it myself, I waited for this weekend when I have time. I have superdupered a copy of my ssd disk external and tried to reformat the entire ssd, intending to copy the contents of the external drive on the ssd. It did not work.

Disk utility could not erase my ssd. The message was that there was a discrepancy with the size of the disk and who was who.

I have no more ideas. Can anyone suggest how I can get back my missing 40 GB?

A big thank you to all those who can help.

If you used boot camp to partition the drive you would use to remove the windows partition. Rerun the bootcamp and choose Delete bootcamp partition.

  • Mac startup showing Mac and Windows without windows in Bootcamp installed

    Hello

I currently have a Mid-2009 MBP under Snow Leopard.

In the past, I used Bootcamp for Windows 7 (then at 10 horrible) and had no problems.

Annoyed, shattered Windows 10, returned to Windows 7. Made backup using the backup utility Windows on/dev/disk1 /.

Had problems with El Capitan and wiped out all/dev/disk0 /.

According to the screenshot below, when I start my computer displays the boot Mac and Windows options.

I narrowed down it to caused by/dev/disk1 /, but there no other Windows operating system or backup are there.

Is it possible that this is due to the partition on/dev/disk1/and EFI is possible to remove this fact and the option to start Windows without annihilating the entire HARD drive?

EDIT: I know what may be in the wrong sub, please feel free to move if necessary.

Windows 10 / printer HP 5530 visible, ping-measure but "installing network without success" - workaround

    (FYI)

Problem: Windows 10 laptop (previously Windows 7) would not install HP 5530 wireless printer using the HP installation software.

(Other portable, always running Windows 7, install the same software of the printer without a problem.) All computers had until then used a HP 5510 without problem).

The printer can be "seen" by phone, via a router, in the dialogues of installation software, but 'installation network without success' has been reported: in other words, after identification and selection of the printer on the network, install "spun" for several minutes until the outage has been reported. (Installation by USB connection was successful, but still later without success in wireless network installation).

Printer able ping go laptop all the time, and test page was printed wireless through the web page HTTP printer (e.g. 192.168.1.x) parameters.

Firewall has been abandoned and latest drivers from the web site HP downloaded - however, Setup still not at the same point each time.

Solution: In Windows 10, start menu: -.

Printer Settings\Devices\Add or Scanner\Printer I want to is not listed\Add by the TCP/IP address [use the IP address identified from the display or printing settings printer] - check the box for pilot chosen automatically by Windows.

(In other words, add the printer as a printer without using HP installation software at all.)

Result: the printer is available (after restart) wireless on the laptop - seemingly normal and as a shared printer - wireless printing was possible.

    (Solved) (Apparently)

    According to the http://dfarq.homeip.net/2015/01/how-to-add-a-tcpip-printer-in-the-windows-10-technical-preview/

Good luck to anyone with a similar problem!

    I'm still working 24 hours.

I want to install the Japanese language in my windows XP Professional. But I don't have installation CD. So, I tried to look for how to install it without the installation CD. I just got this way for Office XP so far.
All first, I installed the Japanese language pack is http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8289, and it succeeded. Then I restarted my computer, but it can still read the Japanese letters.

I prefer "check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them" setting.

  • Impossible to install Bootcamp

I try to install Bootcamp on my iMac 27 "(mid 2011) running El Capitan v. 10.11.5, as my operating system. I bought a copy of Windows 10 Home (on a USB key). I downloaded the iso of Windows 10 corresponding on the microsoft Web site. Then I burned a copy of the program to a DVD Double layer 8.5 GB DVD + R DL (Sony).

Now, I had the DVD to my installer of Bootcamp and instered in the Superdrive drive and check both boxes to download the latest drivers and install Windows. Download additional drivers exploded without any problems however, when it came to the installation of Windows 10, I get a message saying that it couldn't find the installation disc.

I thought that maybe my "superdrive" did not work as I have not been able to read ANY disc with this drive superdrive. .... I took the computer to the dealer who sold me the computer and after a few days, they returned it saying that they couldn't find anything wrong with the drive. I get the computer home and NADA. I so restart the computer to the dealer and tell them I want that they replace the "superdrive" even if I have to pay for it. This time they tell me that they have to send it to Apple and it will take two weeks. Two weeks later I won't count it with a message saying that they cannot always find something wrong and not replace the disc. So here I am back home with my computer and cannot install Bootcamp.

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

Windows 10 is not supported by Apple on iMac mid-2011.  See the list of devices supported in a use 10 Windows on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support.  This is probably the reason why BCA pretended that not finding the drive.

You can use 8.1 Windows on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple support on iMac mid-2011, then use a free update to win 10 against MS.

  • Can I remove the 10.6 and bootcamp or windows still work with previous 10.11 installation?

I have an early 2009 mac mini, 10.6 installed bootcamp at the same time on the hard drive. Have windows 7 installed on bootcamp.

Recently, I removed the CD - RW drive and put in an SSD. I then installed 10.11 on this drive and use it as the startup of the operating system. I noticed that I can run applications that has been installed to 10.6, Autocad 2013 being a.

What I would do is make hard drive on the old hard drive space by removing the 10.6. I can do this without destroying the current installation of bootcamp and windows 7 install?

Due to the limited space on the SSD drive, after removing 10.6 I want to update my old applications and install less 10.11 but actually during the installation, install the actual application on the old hard drive files. Of course I know that it works, as stated above and previous experience.

Fundamental question needs to be able to always use bootcamp and windows 7 install I have now, even after the removal of 10.6. Is this possible?

Once Windows is installed (W7 in your case), it is autonomous. But it is very sensitive to partitioning of the changes/resizing efforts.

If you want to keep the old Applications (10.6) intact and on the old disk, but use the 10.11 on the SSD, the only space you get in return is at the heart of 10.6 OS. It is usually 16 to 32GB.

If you have verified that each of your applications is fully functional under 10.11, backup Applications on an external drive and erase only 10.6 partition. Create a reader of 'Fusion' between the SSD and the old HARD drive 10.6 and then drag Applications from the external drive in the Fusion drive application. It will also give you performance SSD for your Applications, rather than leave it on the HARD drive part that will slow them down.

  • Operating system not found, no boot device has been detected but can run XP in Bootcamp without problem?

The title says it all. I searched and tried the partial fixes to some of the questions.

I have installed Bootcamp and a working copy of XP Pro works no problem at all.

I installed VMFusion and merger goes to the partition, and I get the error no bootable devices and not found any BONES. It seems trying to boot from a network, it works to resolve a MAC address. Then he hangs on. Then don't say: "no found bone." I put the disc XP Prop and try reinstalling and it said: none found disk... I have attached a few photos.

    Thank you

Note: These senses are different which have already been posted so read and follow through... Note: These steps assume that you have a single Apple to default installation of Windows on a single Boot Camp partition and Boot Camp of VMware Fusion single default partition Machine virtual (without a snapshot *) and if you have changed the partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine to add additional hard disks to be virtual or RAW disk then do not use these instructions unless you backup the Boot Camp partition the Machine package virtual first. * Also note that Fusion 2.0.0 may accidentally have a snapshot with the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine and it should not have, then you should check to ensure that the condition does not exist as well. (With merger closed if the partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine package is over 1 MB in size, then you might have a snapshot in place and do not continue with these instructions.)

    ===

    1. If the merger is open, close it.

    2. in a Terminal (/ Applications/Utilities/Terminal) copy and paste command, as the following and then press Enter and it will delete the partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine of the metadata and the Virtual Machine to help.

Note: This does not affect the Boot Camp partition install windows in that it does not remove it.  Also be sure you copy all the command line below, as well as, "RM" at the beginning of the ' (quote) after the s in the Machines. "

    RM - dfr "/Users/$ the specified item was not found./Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines/Helper/naos-1.0.vmwarevm/vmware.log ' ~/Desktop/Helper_vmware.log

  • Launching applications from partition Bootcamp without starting the virtual machine

Hi all, installed Fusion because my colleague was furious about how you can launch applications without even opening the windows. But I was not able to do. I use a Bootcamp partition and is not, and I'm assuming that this is the reason why this feature is not available for me, but if someone could shed some light on this would be great!

    Thank you

I think that your colleague is a bit confused. By definition, any product of virtualization to run a prompt to perform a request for comments. If you start in Unity mode, you might see Windows not running, but it's there. I suspect that what your colleague is talking about is the suspension in Unity mode. If you then start a Notes application, the virtual machine will resume, and since it is in Unity mode, it will appear to run the comments without Windows display application.

Run a Boot Camp virtual machine means that you can not suspend (or snapshot, but that is irrelevant to this issue) because this can lead to corruption of the disk.

  • How can I re - install firefox without losing my data. It is infested bame ad.

Firefox is infested with "ads name.

How can I get rid of it or how can I
Re-install firefox without losing any data?

There is a rash that goes around, and the solution is not yet clear 100%. I suggest try reinstalling this way:

    Clean reinstall it

We use this name, but it is not about the deletion of your settings, it comes to ensure that program files are-own and contain no alien code files. As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.

    (1) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 37.0.1 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (2) close Firefox (if applicable).

    (3) to rename the program folder

    (Windows 32-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files\OldFirefox

    (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox

    (4) run the installer you downloaded in the #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

    Any improvement?

Note: Some plugins can only exist in this OldFirefox file. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

    • \OldFirefox\Plugins
    • \OldFirefox\browser\plugins
  • How to install thunderbird without Eudora migration

I used Eudora since the mid-90s, and I would now switch to Thunderbird. I downloaded TB and installed, including the option to import mailboxes to the letters (and parameters?) of Eudora 7. I use Windows 7. It worked perfectly, but it took a while to import stuff from Eudora. I then decided to 'crowded' all Eudora stuff, when learning of the use of TB, so I decided to uninstall TB and reinstall WITHOUT the option of migrating Eudora. This time, although TB install new has worked... all imports of Eudora arrived on tuberculosis once again, even if I had no chance/window request or deny them this time. Please, how can I install TB without imports Eudora, preferably WITHOUT uninstall Eudora, I have at least want to keep to refer to my 100 s a lot of messages there.

Then, one day, I can choose to eventually import Eudora stuff, but not until I become proficient in TB. Moreover, TB still important Eudora stuff when it is installed, without asking, even when Eudora is 'hidden' PC-Magic hidden folders. Any help is very appreciated!

Thunderbird manages a Profiles folder in the folder appdata in windows. You can uninstall reinstall and just about everything you like, but the profile is not affected by the installation and uninstallation.

    Close Thunderbird.
At the beginning type menu %APPDATA%\microsoft\windows\sendto search box and press enter
the thunderbird folder shown in windows Explorer will contain the profile and parameter file that points to the location of the profile. Delete this folder and your good to go.
Launch Thunderbird and it will be like a new installation.
