  Hi all
  
  I just purchased coldfusion 8 and have a few questions about the installation:
  
  (1) what are the options iis should be installed before the installation of coldfusion? (what are the minimum options must be installed with iis)
  (2) what I need to have a mail server such as microsoft exchange running to take advantage of the intrusion via cfmail or coldfusion has just this?
  (3) should I install sql 2005 before installing coldfusion and sql options must be installed?

  (1) IIS only. Do not have ASP/.NET installed. Just the web server and you can install the management console, so you can make changes.

  (2) If you want to send a mail, you'll need an SMTP server * somewhere * that you can send an email too.

  (3) is irrelevant. Ideally, your SQL server server must be on another box. Simply a default installation.

• Error installing Coldfusion 10 Update 21

  I'm having trouble installing the latest patch on my developer edition 21 CF. I have not had problems before with the installation of patches.

  I want to install using the Windows command line, as the CF Admin has never worked method (impossible to download patches because of our network problems)

  3 fatal errors in the log file:

  1. ERROR - Could not move the C:\{CFPATH}\lib\updates\{filename}.details file to the location of backup C:\{CFPATH}\hf-updates\hf-10-00021\backup\lib\updates\{filename}.details
  2. ERROR - Could not move the C:\{CFPATH}\lib\updates\{filename}.notes file to the location of backup C:\{CFPATH}\hf-updates\hf-10-00021\backup\lib\updates\{filename}.notes
  3. ERROR - Could not move the C:\{CFPATH}\lib\updates\{filename}.hotfix_021.jar file to the location of backup C:\{CFPATH}\hf-updates\hf-10-00021\backup\lib\updates\{filename}.hotfix_021.jar

  I am running the command-line in Windows as an administrator. So I don't think it's a problem of permission. All the more that the other files are written in these places during the installation (C:\{CFPATH}\hf-updates\hf-10-00021\backup\...).

  OS is Windows 7

  During the attempt to install the fix, I see the files *.details and *.notes writing in the C:\{CFPATH}\lib\updates folder. They are deleted at the end of the process.

  Had a similar problem with update 20. Here area few things Adobe told me to do.

  1. Make sure that you open the command prompt with run as administrator. You have the right permissions.
  2. They asked me to run the update with the version of JAVA that the ColdFusion server is / was using. Seems that the version of Java that I had for the operating system was not the same version as the one referenced in ColdFusion server. So, I found myself by running the command as: "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_101\bin\java.exe" - jar ".jar JAR file c:\{name}"

• Why do I get an error 500 on a newly installed Coldfusion 11?

  I am running CentOS with Apache 2.2.15 6.6.  Today, all were installed on a VMware host newly commissioned.

  When I navigate to http://10.213.42.200/CFIDE/administrator/ to my laptop, I get a 500 error.  I read that I might need access from localhost.

  

  So, I installed X windows and a desktop client and then connected to the console VMware for the machine and traveled to localhost.  I had the same error 500.

  

  It is a facility very vanilla, and I can make any necessary changes.  What suggestions do you have, or what additional information should I provide to get a response?

  OK so I'm having a hard time getting CF10 64 bit installed on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.10

  I installed CF10 but when I try to restart Apache I get this error:

  Everything seems to work perfectly, but I can't get Apache to restart due to this error.

  Okay, for now, I think I've got it worked. So I hope to help someone else in my shoes I'll summarize what I did to get this to work:

  10 ColdFusion

  Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.10

  Apache x 64 v 2.2.3

  After installation, I noticed the following error when you try to start Apache:

  From httpd: http: /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf 992 online syntax error:

  On line 2 of /etc/httpd/conf/mod_jk.conf syntax error

  Cannot load /opt/coldfusion10/cfudion/wsconfig/1/mod_jk.so into server: /opt/coldfusion10/config/wsconfig/1/mod_jk.so

  unidentified symbol: a_get_server_description

  After much research, I found this link: https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/rhel-connector-configuration.html

  Here, he mentioned that Adobe has some prior mod_jk.so files met for a specific version of RHEL.

  My version did not appear, but it didn't stop me from trying to copy the mod_jk.so file in the config directory located here (/ opt/coldfusion/config/wsconfig/1 /)

  According to the link, if none of these worked, I have to compile a connector of my own.

  To compile the source connector, follow these steps:

  1. Unzip the connector - source.zip.
  2. Open the Aboriginal file.
  3. Gives permission to file chmod-r 777 natively.
  4. Run the command configures the following:

  . / configure--with-apxs = {path executable apxs} {find the location of the apxs using find /-name apxs}

  For example, if the apache is installed under/home/apache2, then above the command is as follows:

  . / configure--with-apxs = / home/apache2/bin/apxs

  1. Once configured, the command works fine. Run the make of the same folder. The mark command compiles all sources.
  2. Open the folder of apache - 2.0 and locate mod_jk.so.
  3. If you can't find mod_jk.so, open the file apache - 2.0.
  4. Replace the mod_jk.so generate with previous configured connector. You can find the same location {cf-home}/config/wsconfig/{magic-numner}/mod_jk.so.
  5. Restart ColdFusion and Apache.

  The first problem I encountered was, apxs has not been installed on the system.

  I could get installed (as root)

  sudo yum install httpd-devel

  This gave me the apxs command. I tried again, another failure. This error says: error: C++ preprocessor "/ lib/cpp" fails the validation test

  This means that there can be no c compiler ++ on my system. So, back to yum to install gcc - c++.

  sudo yum install gcc - c++

  Once was installed, I was able to find the path to apxs and follow directions above. Once he had compiled, I looked in the directory apache - 2.0 and copy the mod_jk.so freshly were respected in the configuration directory.

  A quick restart of Apache and coldfusion has confirmed that everything was working.

  You have three sites in IIS viz, Site1, Site2, and training3. Try the following as an example: -.

  1. Navigate to \ColdFusion11\cfusion\runtime\bin\ and run wsconfig.exe. In the list of IIS Web sites, select Site1 . Click OK
  2. Similarly, you can browse to\ColdFusion8\runtime\bin\ and launching wsconfig.exe. In the list of IIS Web sites, select Site2 . Click OK
  3. Navigate to \ColdFusion11\cfusion\runtime\bin\ and run wsconfig.exe. In the list of IIS Web sites, select training3 . Click OK

  So now you have Site1 and training3 configured with ColdFusion 11 and Site2 configured with ColdFusion 8.

  If your Explorer CF7 just forget Apache for now and use of CF7 built in server. Running through the tutorials provided with CF7, then try a few others since the support coldfusion pages.

• Problem installing ColdFusion Extensions

  Received my FlexBuilder last week and installed it yesterday. Then, I tried to install the extensions in ColdFusion for Flexbuilder following the instructions on the disk. I select Local archiving, select the provided zip file etc, and then click Finish. When I do that, I get a message no. features found on the selected site.
  
  I do not have the extensions you installed previously, and there is no files that begin with "com.adobe.coldfusion." in the plugins folder. How can I get these extensions installed?

  I contacted support and they provided a soultion which worked for me, give it a try.

  -Copy CF_FB_Extensions.zip on your hard drive.
  -Create a folder named: ColdFusion Extensions for Flex Builder
  -Unzip CF_FB_Extensions.zip inside
  -Start the installation by points 1 and 2 of the instructions provided with the extensions
  -In step 3, click "New Local Site" instead of "New Site archived"
  The rest is produced according to the instructions supplied with the extensions.

  Also, he suggested unchecking the checkbox "Ignore features." not applicable to this environment

  The extensions are now installed and working for me.

• Problem installing ColdFusion 8

  Hello, I just downloaded and tried to install the developer version of CF8. He says that the installation worked properly, but for a 'non lethal' mistake - not deadly, perhaps, but the cfm pages who worked yesterday in CF5 do work not now (HTTP 505 error).
  
  I first learned about this error at the end of the installation, in a small window indicating "an unhandled exception ('System.Net.Sockets.SocketException') occurred in JNBDotNetSide.exe [2656]" and offer debugging using Microsoft .NET 2005 (I installed as well, because at first I thought that I would have a contract to help that - which I would have had to learn, because I am ignorant of it - this contract is a not unfold but I do not have a new contract to help) ColdFusion, in which I was a good programmer 5 years ago).

  (c) when I installed CF8, I selected IIS that is installed and running on my PC.

  I found that it was easier to disable firewall completely during installation. Once it has been installed and working properly I have re-enabled the firewall. Then understood what I need to tweak/configure to allow access settings. For me it was easier to do it the other way around.

• Problem with installing Coldfusion Hotfix APSB13-10

  I use Coldfusion 9.0 and downloaded the required files CF9.zip and CFIDE - 9.zip and extracted them.  I can't find the file ' WEB - INF.zip "file in the CF9 directory referenced in the instructions.  The only file to update the phonebook of CF9 is 'hf900 - 00010.jar'.  Where can I get this file?  I don't know if I can go ahead without him.  I am partly thanks to the correction and am worried now any reboots without completely fill the patch.

  For starters, I'm not a ColdFusion administrator, just a systems administrator. I have a few CF updates have experienced over the years, but have been implemented. We are trying to pass to CF10, and since it is now Tomcat, this is a new installation. I'm looking for how to export jobs, data sources, parameters, etc. from the CF9 server when it is not taken (so I can't export a CAR). I watched onlione, but stores of eveythign to the export of the company. Any thoughts?

  You can have 5 minutes downtime? You can simply remove the 'standard' license, which will return to 'developer edition' allowing file BECAUSE exports.  Then return the license on new ;-)

• The fix command line install ColdFusion 11 9 fails

  When I run the patch from the command line by using this statement:

  D:\ColdFusion11\jre\bin\java.exe-jar D:\ColdFusion11\cfusion\hf-updates\hotfix_009.jar-i silent f D:\ColdFusion11\cfusion\hf-updates\my-server-name.profile

  I get the following error:

  Error: Could not find or load the class main D:\ColdFusion11\cfusion\hf-updates\hotfix_009.jar

  I also seems to ignore the profiles option, because I see the following new folders in the C:\ drive.

  C:\ColdFusion11

  C:\hf-updates

  C:\hf-11-00009

  Is the broken 9 patch, or is this just me?

  My my-server document - name.profile has been altered causes a problem during the installation.  Corrected a .profile file using has solved the problem.

  INSTALLER_UI = SILENT

• ColdFusion will not install on a Windows 2008 Standard Server for IIS 7.0 running in VMWare.

  In the final step "Configure Web servers/websites", he complains that - "cannot configure IIS Connector.   You get this error only if the IIS features above are not installed. I'm sure you launch the web as an administrator, even though server configuration tool that shouldn't contribute.

  Can you take a screen shot for these IIS features and share.
