I installed the full version LavVIEW 8.6.  I tried to upgrade to the professional version 8.6 by simply installing the new disks, and it didn't perform the upgrade.  First, I have to uninstall and reinstall, or is there a trick?

Look in the License Manager in the National Instruments of your Start menu folder.  This is probably just a matter of activating LabVIEW 8.6 and maybe some other features with your new code license rather than your previous full version license code.

You cannot uninstall a running operating system.  The best you can do is wipe the hard drive and start over, but which will also remove all programs and documents.

Is there a way to pull this off with on the reinstallation of the operating system?  This post http://arstechnica.com/hardware/news/2007/09/how-to-install-a-new-motherboard-without-reinstalling-windows.ars looks promising, but not specifically for Vista.

I don't have a Vista DVD that I bought the upgrade online. I have it on a spare SATA drive and can't burn on a DVD because for some reason any damned, it is slightly larger then what fits on a 8.4 GB DVD. I have a disc XP full version. The current installation is a clean vista who, for now, I forget exactly how I managed, but I remember that you can do a full install with upgrade to vista as long you have your original cd of XP handy.

    Hello Sqrly,

All you can do is try. It's 50-50 if you try to fix the MBR (master boot record). If this does not work and clean install will be your only option. If I were you, I would like to do a clean install. You can download this ISO (Vista) link:http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ but the use of this software to burn your ISO. Link: http://download.cnet.com/Active-ISO-Burner/3000-2646_4-10602452.html?tag=mncol, let us know if this allows you to get your drive. Follow the instructions. Try to repair your windows MBR with this disc. If it isn't you may have an option to make your recovery partition recovery disks or you must contact the manufacturer to buy them for a small fee. Very nice MOBO you got there by the way! ;-) Let us know whether, if that helps you. Make it a great day!

  • Windows 7 genuine? New motherboard and processor

    Hello

My motherboard and processor is dead, and you can buy them is out, so I had to buy a different motherboard and a different processor. Nothing has changed. Windows 7 activated without problem, it says "The Activation was successful" and that my Windows 7 is "authentic".

What I've heard of before is now Windows 7 becoming not authentic after the installation of updates. Is this true? I have a legitimate copy of Windows bought on Amazon. I've already talked to Microsoft to see if I could turn on a new motherboard and CPU, and they said that the key was "good" and I could activate on the new Board of Directors and the CPU.

So is this windows genuine? I have no call at all MS activation. And it will become inauthentic after installing updates?

Thank you for your help. Happy new year!

    Alex

Very well. I was advised by Tom Hardware forums and Windows 7 Forum that as long as the button is activated, it will be good to use, and it can be activated because unlike most recent motherboards, the motherboard has no SLIC, integrated into the BIOS feature.

    Thanks for your help.

  • We had Best Buy install a new motherboard and have now no Windows XP. How can reinstall us with no available disks?

We took our best Buy HP cleaan out and install a new motherboard, but now we must not be pulled up to Window XP and theyu advised us that we need to buy it again.  Is it possible to reinstall windows XP without buying the whole program again.

-What did they replace the motherboard with an identical?  If so, Windows XP may be able to run.  What happens when you try to start it?

Don't have they replaced the hard drive?  If this is not the case, there could be a recovery partition on the disk that you can use to install Windows XP.

Otherwise, contact the manufacturer of the computer for an installation disc.

You shouldn't buy a new copy of XP.  A computer repairman competent all these possibilities would discuss with you before starting the repair work.

  • Problems with colors on the screen after installing the new motherboard Vista

Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit wrong colors.  Monitor works fine.  If a monitor has checked and all colors were there.  Had installed a new motherboard.  Worked well for fivedays then the colors red and green disappeared again.

    * original title - want to get the correct colors on my display/ecran.*

You don't say where the motherboard has come: the Mamufacturer of the computer, or that you buy yourself.

    Take the correct option:

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/motherboard > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

    See you soon.

  • Had to change on the new motherboard and not the product key is not valid

who to contact on key to windows if I was forced to change the motherboard and processor in my PC and now my key is not valid. What should I do?

If victory has been preinstalled by the PC manufacturer, unless you bought the motherboard of the PC manufacturer the oem key is not valid, as its coastline to the origonal hardware (motherboard)

If a commercial win7 version which was purchased then use the phone activation, but not answer all prompts until you have the opportunity to talk to a real person.

  • After installing the new motherboard old HDD work and give the new product key?

I have an OEM version of Windows 7 64 bit installed and fully updated and work.

If I change the notherboard (and the CPU but nothing else) and plug in the old HARD drive it will work?  I noticed that it will not be installed from scratch, but others say that if she is already innstalled and active, it will work.  Others say that Microsoft will release a new product key but are denied by those who say that I have to buy a new version of Windows.

Also the question of the drivers for the new Board of directors etc - it just install them from the M/B drive when I start first?

    Unfortunately, no.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

  • Install the new motherboard on my HP computer and cannot activate my license of Windows XP Media Center 2005.

My original motherboard has been damaged, I had bought a very new and different motherboard to fix the problem.

Windows does not allow activation because I imagine that the key is already used by my original activation.  The system does not have same me to log in windows.

Yesterday, I spoke with Microsoft staff by phone and they told me that the license is linked to the original HP motherboard and so they could not reactivate my license and I have to get a new license.

I thought that the XP license was perennially valid as long that you have kept the machine and if you have changed parts, all you have to do is call Microsoft and explain the change to reactivate the license.  I think that change a motherboard that has failed is not reason to not to reactivate my original license.

I had another license for my MSDN subscription, if it's true that I can not reactivate my license due to change of motherboard, is there a way to get into my MSDN license key and activate without reinstalling windows and all software currently on the machine?

Change the motherboard on a computer would be as...  Change your body with someone elses.

MSDN licenses are for test purposes.  What is a production machine?
