Install Win 7 on a new disc

The problem: windows fails when starting a new drive.

I have T430 with Win 7 pro 64-bit.
The hard drive (hitachi 320 GB 7200 RPM) has the recovery partition. Boot from this drive is very good, and the pc works. The pc CAME preinstalled with the operating system and no DVD has been provided.

Now I want to install the OS for a new SSD 120 GB drive (for the same pc)
With the help of tools Lenovo, I created a USB recovery.
Removed the original drive and installed the new SSD.
Booted from the USB and the recovery application to install Win on the SSD.
At the start of the SSD, I get the error
"Unable to start Windows. A recent hardware... »
'Not found Winload.exe.

Of course, the hardware has been changed, but I can't use the advice - use of the ERD - if Lenovo does not provide it.

I already searched the forums and has not found a solution.

Is there a formal solution of Lenovo, or I have to take my chances?
Any ideas will be appreciated.
Thank you

Your computer is set to run in ACHI mode?
I had the same error once when installing 8 GB of ram on a machine that had run 4 GB... the jury filed for it... 64-bit check, check... but the installation was problematic. I ended up installing a bar of 4 GB... He acknowledged have... then by installing the 2nd round... It is required to operate.

SSD is different animals. Much better animals but with their own set of needs. Here is a quick/sheet that will help you to make your own checklist and perhaps to help troubleshooting.

  • Re-install Win 7 Pro on new SSD (same PC), activate now

I bought components a few months back, built my PC and installed a brand new Win7 Pro bought at the same time.

I live and work in Saudi Arabia.  Window on the net fine.

I recently bought an SSD and performed a new installation on the SSD (new main boot drive) - as recommended.

Now my Windows will not be activated over the net. I left 3 days. I tried the phone numbers on the Web MS for Saudi Arabia websites, but they come back as incorrect.

MS do not activate by email.

And when I go to the support page product to trigger a ticket/issue page that she mentions my Win 7 is an OEM, so I must go back to the manufacturer! And I can't progress further.

And when I try to buy a new key of the frustration, the links take me to Windows 8 - no mention of the purchase of Win 7 keys.

Any help would be appreciated gratefully.

  • Can not install Win 7 on a new HD

My HD died today.  It is on Win XP and Win 7.

I installed a new HD and tried to install windows using my Win 7 Upgrade disc.

I get the following error message

Setup could not create a new partition system or locate an existing partition of the syetem.  See logs of installation for more information.

Have no idea on how to see the information of the newspaper because I'm under Win install.

I realize that I use a CD to upgrade to actually do a fresh install, but could that be the reason of the weird error message.

If anyone can give me a pointer on what to do then it would be GREATLY appreciated.

If you need drivers, they can be delivered on any media: floppy disk, USB key, CD/DVD, or else your BIOS can read.

Needed XP disk, later versions of Windows can accept any support.

  • Need to install Win 7 Pro x 64 disc

I have a work of Precision T3500 pre-loaded with Win7 Pro x 64.  It is an urgent need for a new installation of the OS, but I have no way to do it, because I don't have a installation disc.  I tried to use the Microsoft download service to get a. ISO file, but he refuses to accept my product key... I guess because it is a Dell OEM.  Dell offers one. Download of ISO or a drive so I can reinstall my OS?

I had a backup of the system it is made years, but I want to do a clean install not a restore.

  • Will I need to re - install Win 7 after the new motherboard

I have a 'new' machine unfortunately screwed up. (It is refurbished, but many questions).

I probably get a new motherboard. The technology will be able to transfer the credentials to Win 7. I ask because on the Thinkcenter and my Y480 I reinstalled Win 7 NINE times and have now good things.

Basically, I really want to start rebuilding this machine with a lot of software, but if I have to reinstall after the new motherboard Tuesday I could wait as well. :-(

    DRM for pointers.

For anyone following the answer is NO (less if done by the engineer).

I asked support if the engineer should be port on my serial number for the new Board of Directors (Windows now finds the system not on a sticker card serial numbers). I was told 'no '.

Of course, the engineer DID. My data has been flashed to the new Commission and Windows never saw a difference.

Another wasted a few hours back up things.

  • Install Vista Ultimate on a new disc

    Hello world

I have Vista Ultimate installed on my 320 GB internal hard drive.

The Vista disc that I have, cannot be installed on a pc.

Unfortunately, this disc has become unstable and I'm afraid it will fail and I will lose everything on it.

I am about to buy a 1 TB drive and wish first, partition, then install Vista Ultimate on it, then transfer all of my original him.

A simple enough thing to do I guess.

However, I learned by several people that I won't be able to install Vista on drive 1 TB, as Microsoft will see this facility as a "second installation on a second pc" and so I will not be able to validate my drive.

Can someone tell me if this is correct

    Thank you very much

    It's not correct.

You have a copy of Windows retail or an OEM version? Or we can
be installed only on one computer at a time, but a copy has an OEM
additional restriction: his license it permanently binds to the first
computer, it is installed on and it can never be moved to another.
However, even if it is an OEM copy, change the hard drive does not work
another computer and you can certainly do that and use
your copy of Windows in this regard.

  • Satellite of 850 - is it possible to I install Win 7 - if so, how?

I was in a hurry to get a laptop for a job and got a Toshiba Satellite 850, which comes with 8 pre-installed windows.

I absolutely hate it and assumed I can just wipe everything and put it on a windows 7.
After reading many advice forums, it seems that this machine is designed for windows 8 and I can't remove it easily. So I am completely and totally disappointed.

Is this really the case? Please tell me this isn't.

I urgently need an answer that I start to work in the morning and I need Win7 installed to work.

You really are a funny guy blame you laptop manufacturer, because you are not able to install Win 7?
I guess you do this out of ignorance... you don't know how exactly...

All first of all laptops of all manufacturers of laptops that are pre-installed with Win 8 supports secure boot UEFI BIOS. Here are the requirements of Microsoft.

Second: It is possible to install Windows 7 on all laptops; It doesn't matter which was preinstalled. But he should know how to do this...

You said that you are owner of the Satellite 850. But what series? L, A AND C?

    Now some basic info:
To boot from external sources: CD/DVD drive, USB, etc. You must disable secure boot and go the CSM UEFI.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB2B03F30002R01.htm
It seems that you have done this that s good.

Keep the SATA option in AHCI mode.
When setting up installation of Win 7, you will be asked to add drivers (SATA drivers)
Download driver Toshiba UE page, put it on the USB key and add it to the installation of Win 7.
Now Win 7 must see HARD drive and you should be able to install Win 7 on the new partition.

  • Install Windows 7 on a new partition

I have a Satellite P300-19F and it came with Win Vista. I am trying to install Win 7 on a new disk volume, but I do not have the Toshiba provided with equipment programs (software for webcam, DVD, etc.).
Where can I download all software from Toshiba? I can only find drivers to download.

    Thank you

What you need are drivers Win7 Toshiba specific tools and utilities, and each of them you can find on the download page of Toshiba under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

I installed Win7 on P300 s brother and it works perfectly.

  • Install windows 7 on a new pc and upgrade another pc with windows 7 vista.

What do need me to make this work... I just built a new pc with no OS installed, so I want to install Win 7 on the new pc, but also upgrade my old pc which is running Vista (pre-installed PC on when bought) without having to buy two different copies of Win 7.  Is this possible?

    Laughing out loud

You need 2 Windows 7 licenses to make 2 sets.

A single license is a single Installation.

You need: a FULL license and a license upgrade.

    Hello

Have you changed the boot order?

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order and boot from the Windows 7 DVD:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

Do install a cleaning, removal of the existing XP partition and create a new partition to install 7 on in the own installation process:

  • install win 7 home on the new hard drive on old Inspiron N5010

My daughter N5010 has a faulty hard drive I want to replace and load win 7 Home premium (it was what was on it when she bought new in 2010)
I downloaded an .iso of digital river and will burn on dvd for installation.  However, the COA on the bottom is quite warn and I cannot read the product key, also, the barcode is also quite warn and cannot parse.  hard drive, that I took out is dead, so there is not using the key of it.  I have read several posts here and watched videos that will happen on google searches, but don't know if I'm getting good information.  How I get the correct key to activate the operating system?  did this on a new original hard drive different from the resettlement on the hard disc descriptions?  I called dell support and told him a hard guy to understand that the downloaded .by don't work with this laptop, but I suspect he wanted to sell me a software warranty and new discs.  Maybe it's correct?  What is my best option here?
    Thank you for your attention...

However the slp cert is identical for each single Dell system running with Windows 7 Home Premium factory settings or installed with a Windows 7 Home Premium DVD Dell reinstallation, you cannot back up your own files.

If you get a Dell reinstallation DVD, you will use the same activation mechanism. I have backup upward cert for each version of Dell for Vista and 7 as well all that you need to do is copy program to extract the ABR folder and run restore activation.

  • How can I clean install Win 7 Pro on a series of 330 intel SSD using a Sony Vaio laptop as the source. I have the original disc and the authorization only

My Office HARD drive had a fatal accident and poster now under vacuum. It was a disk of 1 TB with Win 7 Pro upgrade to Win 8 Pro.I have records of origin 32 and 64 bit OS and wish to install the OS on a SSD using the optical drive on my Sony Vaio, which will become then the boot drive in my office.

    [Moved from comments]

You must do the installation on the desktop. You can not install windows on the disk into a computer and then move the disk to another computer and do work. When installation is complete, it reads information from the BIOS of the computer, on which it is installed and when you put the disc in another computer that Windows does not find the information used during the installation.

You will need to put the new drive in the desktop, install Windows 7 on it, then upgrade to Windows 7 to Windows 8 again.
