Installation of APEX without Oracle Text Option

Hello

Is it possible to install the APEX 3.1.2 or 3.2 without the Option of text? The doc said yes, but the apex help can´t serve.
The last time I tried it on a client side, I had a Setup error (but I can´t don't forget the text of the error)
After the installation of Oracle TEXT it was ok.

Thank you
Marco

Marco,

I won't ask why you do not need help online? :-)

But nevertheless, the installation program performs a check of the prerequisites for Oracle Text and will close if it is not installed.

    I installed oracle EE 11.2.0.3.

    I think that the APEX is isntalled with this version, but it seems to be an older version, I see a diagram apex 3_X.

    I wish I had the last installed APEX rlease which I believe is 4.2.

    How should I proceed with this? Pass the relase running or can I download the 4.2 file zip and install new.

    I have also, oracle http server is installed so I would use for APEX. I think it's a matter of configuration after installation.

    Current version is the 4.2.1 and the documentation suggests that you run the apxins.sql regardless of the version.

  • Installation of Oracle Text on 12 c

    Hi all

    When I try to set up our full text search, I get a lot of errors and noticed that things like the DEFAULT_LEXER are not installed. So, I went back through the installation log files and found that the dr0defin script did not run. The error is "catconInit: database is not open on the default instance. A bit of fishing trawling in the Perl scripts, I found problems of password and now it cannot select view v$ instance. The dr0defin script needs to run on the CTXSYS user and I guess that this user has all permissions to run checks catconInit!

    Someone at - he managed to install or find a documentation that explains how to install it. There is no mention in the documentation of 12 more. I have several DPS, I should mention.

    See you soon.

    Hello

    According to the support note Doc ID 1666831.1there is no way to manually install Oracle Text to database 12cR1 and Oracle Text must be added using DBCA.

  • Performance issues and options to reduce the loading with the Oracle text implementation

    Hi Experts,

    My database on Oracle 11.2.0.2 on Linux. We have Oracle implemented for the fuzzy search. Our oracle text indexes are defined as sync on commit that we cannot afford to have stale data.  Now our application done literally thousands of inserts/modifications/deletions of these columns where we have these Oracle text index defined. Thus, we see a significant impact on performance because the oracle text synchronization routines is called on each commit. We do nightly index optimization (optimization full every night at 3:00).  The text index oracle internal operations are appearing at the top of the sql page in our AWR report and fears it causes a lot of load on the DB.  Since we do optimization of the complete index once during the night, I think I should change that, and if I do, he's going to help us?

    For example, here are some data of AWR report my one day:

    Time elapsed (s) Executions Time by Exec (s) % Total % CPU %IO SQL ID SQL module SQL text
    27,386.25305 4410.0916.5015.829.98ddr8uck5s5kp3Start ctxsys.drvdml.com_sync_i...
    14,618.81213 9800.078.818.3927.7902yb6k216ntqfbegin ctxsys.syncrn (: idxownid,...)

    More top sql full text:

    ddr8uck5s5kp3begin ctxsys.drvdml.com_sync_index (: idxname,: idxmem,: partname);
    end
    02yb6k216ntqf

    begin ctxsys.syncrn (: idxownid,: idxoname,: idxid,: ixpid,: rtabnm,: flg); end;

    Now if I do optimization of the complete index that more often, and not only once night 15:00 will be this average, the load on DB sync on commit will decrease? If Yes, how many times should I optimized and the optimization itself does not lead to a load? Can anyone suggest?

    Thank you

    OrauserN

    It's to you which values you want to experiment.  Since 1 G, which is the same as 1024M is the maximum I could try that assigning to an index and see what effect it has.  You can use the same AWR report that you used previously and compare performance.  To determine when paging depends on your operating system and what tools you have.  Another option might be to use TRANSACTIONAL, that allows searching for unsynchronized lines and allow you to synchronize every five minutes, like Herald suggested, without any latency problem.  You can read about it here (scroll down to transaction):

    I have a 10.1.0.5.0 on RHEL 4 Oracle database which I am installing 3.1.2 on (HTTP mod_plsql) APEX. I installed XML DB, Oracle Text, ran the upgrade of PL/SQL Web Toolkit at 10.1.2.0.6 and ran the installer of the APEX without any problem. I also meet the other requirements I can see (dispatchers, job_queue_processes parameter, etc.).

I ran dbms_xdb.sethttpport and the value of my 8010 port and when I navigate to the URL (http:// < Server >: 8010, pls, apex, apex_admin), I get "page not found". If I try http:// < server >: 8010, I get "Index of /" with 3 entries - public, sys, xdbconfig.xml inputs (2 directories and 1 file).

    S/w APEX files are on the same server, but I do not know how to configure the side HTTP to point to the directory of images APEX.

    Just to be clear, the gateway XDB of PL/SQL built-in (EPG) is NOT an option for a 10.1 database. It was introduced in the 10th, then 11.1 and I think that the last patch of 10.2. "dbms_xdb.sethttpport" is for the EPG, then you were in the wrong part of the installation guide. In addition, you need NOT Oracle Application Server, just Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) which is provided on the database companion CD.

    You must complete the section * 4.5.2 * (* 4.5.2.1 * by * 4.5.2.6 *) of this guide:

  • Apex on Oracle 12 c anyone?

    Thought I'd give it a try.  I installed Oracle 12 c with a DB container and an APB.  The database basic installation comes with 4.2.0 and after a day or two to play with it, I managed to make it work with an embedded pl/sql gateway.  The trickiest part was the PDB to interact with the installation of the apex in CBD.  Then I applied the latest patch for version 4.2.2 and everything went to hell in a handbasket.  When you run the apxchpwd script I keep running into an error (ORA-04023: object APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_UTILITIES could not valid or ability), which I can not simply appear to solve.  Somehow he also killed my (CDB) EM Express access on port 5500, because who does more either.  I ended up completely delete the plugin DB and recreate the dbca Wizard, but the error just comes back.  Now I want to completely uninstall the Apex of the CBD, by following the instructions that I found here: using the Multitenant Architecture, but this reference is made to a patch (16946990), that I cannot find on the support site.  Unless someone here has any suggestions on how to continue, I'm so throw in the towel and stick to the Apex on Oracle 11 g 2.  I will give 12 c to try again when he matures more, according to my experience it means wait 12.2 ;-)

    Hi Loek,

    I recommend to see my colleague, Jason Straub blog on this topic: Application Express Nuggets: Oracle Database 12 c Multitenant Option and Application Express, where Jason explains that our latest version of patch, APEX 4.2.2 does not contain the installation files of patch for a database of the 12 c container because 4.2.2 was released before 12 c:

    .. .we have not released a new version of the Application Express for Oracle Database 12 c was released two days ago, so there is no software to update or patch to the version of Application Express (4.2) that comes in the database of the container. The next version or a patch of Application Express contains scripts suitable for updating a database containing...

    So until the next version of the APEX is made available, you need to stick with the version that comes with 12 c, which is currently APEX 4.2.  I hope this helps clarify things.

    Kind regards

  • Change the regional settings / user of Photoshop CS4 interface text Options

    Sorry to bug all, but I searched for the answer to this for two days and found nothing.

    I recently installed CS4 Design Premium on a PC running Windows 7. When I resize an image (Image > Image size), dialog appears always the size of the Document in centimeters. Unfortunately, I am in the United States and have not yet been converted to the metric system, and it's a royal pain to change the dropdown to inches every time.

    In my "Local" file, is the only subdirectory that exists, "fr_FR." In Edition > Preferences > Interface: text Options UI: UI language there is only one available option is "English: UK. I'm sure that during the initial installation of the suite, I chose 'United States' my locale. And is there a reason to have a dropdown menu with that one choice and no way to add other (no need to reply to this one, I don't think aloud)?

    Is it possible to add to the United States as a language without having to re - install the Suite?

    Thank you very much

    Is it possible to add to the United States as a language without having to re - install the Suite?

    The regional settings for the main program are defined by the serial number, not necessarily of your choice of language. Shared components derive their locale from it thus and/or in part the setting of the system. This issue with installs wrongly using en_GB is quite common, though. It occurs usually when other Adobe software with components shared already was on the system and forced the installation program using the wrong language. However, short of reinstalling everything with that uninstalls Adobe After sweeping and the CS4 Clean Script, it is impossible to solve this problem.

  • Oracle text index - unexpected behavior

    We have a SEARCH_TABLE (in Oracle 12.1.0.1.0) with a couple of files (actually about 10,000,000 records):

    ID ADDRESS

    1     | WIMPEL | 57. 9733BK | GRONINGEN |

    2     | JOHAN WILSSTRAAT | 7 ||| 1333PV | ALMERE |

    3     | ABRAHAM KUYPERHOF | 10. 8091XN | WEZEP |

    To support research on the table addresses, we apply an Oracle text index:

    create index ST_CTX1 on SEARCH_TABLE (address)

    indexType is ctxsys.context

    parameters ("DATASTORE CTXSYS. DEFAULT_DATASTORE');

    Our research focuses on whole words (without jokers). When searching through the data, it usually comes back with the correct results.

    SELECT THE ID

    OF SEARCH_TABLE

    WHERE CONTAINS (ADDRESS, 'GRÖNING') > 0

    ;

    Returns nothing, that is correct. Once the search argument 'GRÖNING' is replaced by 'GRONINGEN', ID 1 is correctly selected. According to this behavior, the following query returns no records:

    SELECT THE ID

    OF SEARCH_TABLE

    WHERE CONTAINS (ADDRESS, 'ABR & KUYPERHOF') > 0

    ;

    Surprisingly, however, the following query returns record ID 3:

    SELECT THE ID

    OF SEARCH_TABLE

    WHERE CONTAINS (ADDRESS, ' A & KUYPERHOF ') > 0

    ;

    (Even if data does not contain the complete word 'A'). This unexpected behavior only seems to occur when you use "A" as the initial character.

    The following query (with the search starting with the character 'J' argument) returns no data. Which is the expected behavior.

    SELECT the ID

    OF SEARCH_TABLE

    WHERE CONTAINS (ADDRESS, 'J & WILSSTRAAT') > 0

    ;

    Anyone has an idea why the text index returns with A situations? Any ideas on how to solve this problem are appreciated.

    Mark

    According to the list of empty words by default in 11.2, the letters a, d, i, s, and t are listed, so would be removed from the wanted list of tokens.  Thus, 'A & WILSSTRAAT' becomes '& WILSTRAAT' and search text line with a single word.  'j' is not an empty word, so it is considered to be a token is valid and is not in your tables.  Look in CTXSYS. CTX_STOPWORDS to see what you have.

  • Control of accessibility from the figures without alt text

    I was watching a number of PDF files for my institution and have disocvered full Acrobat XI option in the check (although I've seen this in Acrobat X as well), isn't marking errors in figures without alternative text.  It will be on some files, but on most marks just the test as adopted when it should be impossible.

    I've rechecked 'Figures require alternative text' is checked in the menu text replacement and topics.  Did I miss an option somewhere?  I am trying to create a workflow for my staff, and I had a rather error get correctly marked in order to try and get them to do not forget to handle.

    If I take the same file that passes from Acrobat and then run it through another program, such as the PDF accessibility checker, it correctly reports all these images Acrobat transmitted as images without alternative text.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you.

    The figures have a text in the text instead of an alternative text field? I've seen this passage of the audit tool Acrobat XI but fail CAP 1.3 (surprisingly, he seems to spend CAP 2.0). The other thing, I would check is the content pane to make sure that the figures are not hidden in containers of the artifact.

  • The abbreviated word Oracle text query / name

    I am new to Oracle text so please excuse the simple question (probably). I want to be able to create a search that excludes (including?) special characters or spaces between the short name. I don't know if it's possible, but I would like to be able to return all results below if an interviewee in 'ABC' under one form or another.

    It would be something that I would add a thesaurus? In my view, there is a list of EMPTY words, but I don't know if it is the opposite of a list of empty words.

    Thanks in advance!

    Maybe it's that my SQL statement is not taking advantage of the text options - that is to say I forget something obvious :)

    The indexes are by default case insensitive, so let's ignore that.

    You can wal-mart and wal * mart match Wal-Mart by setting "-" and "*" as characters SKIPJOINS. However, you cannot not wal mart walmart match, otherwise than by the use of the NDATA.

    NDATA seems to work - any variation of wal mart Walmart wal * mart and wal-mart manage to match the Wal-Mart and wal-mart. See the example:

    SQL> create table testcase (text varchar2(2000));
    Table created.

    SQL> insert into testcase values ('walmart');
    1 row created.

    SQL> insert into testcase values ('wal mart');
    1 row created.

    SQL> exec ctx_ddl.drop_section_group('tcsg')
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    SQL> exec ctx_ddl.create_section_group('tcsg', 'xml_section_group')
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    SQL> exec ctx_ddl.add_ndata_section('tcsg', 'nd', 'nd')
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    SQL> create index testcase_index on testcase(text)
      2  indextype is ctxsys.context
      3  parameters ('section group tcsg')
      4  /
    Index created.

    SQL> select * from testcase where contains (text, 'ndata(nd, wal mart)') > 0;

    TEXT
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    walmart
    wal mart

    SQL> select * from testcase where contains (text, 'ndata(nd, wal-mart)') > 0;

    TEXT
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    walmart
    wal mart

    SQL> select * from testcase where contains (text, 'ndata(nd, wal*mart)') > 0;

    TEXT
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    walmart
    wal mart

    SQL> select * from testcase where contains (text, 'ndata(nd, walmart)') > 0;

    TEXT
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    walmart
