I have a Belkin N Wireless USB Adapter model # F5D8053 which works fine in XP. Windows 7 installed and the drivers install fine (latest version of the drivers on their site) but after a while, the connection drops and the icon near the clock says no connection.

It is likely there is no wireless driver, but the drivers of the USB chipset at fault. You could try Vista Compatiility mode for those.

  • Problems with wireless USB adapter. Icon missing "Wireless network connection".

I recently got a laptop HD malfunction cause me to start my PC from 2004. I bought a Belkin N150 Wireless USB adapter to connect to the internet connectivity. During the installation, I do not get a "Wireless network connection" icon I am running Windows XP SP3. I installed the same USB adapter on a computer running Windows XP SP2 and it works fine. I plugged it in my desktop PC and it just doesn't work! Even with my router disconnected I should still be able to see other networks WiFi available in the range (I live in a community of apartment) as he worked on the other computer it elsewhere too. I double checked the drivers, reboot the cable modem, so that appropriate services were activated and still no dice. I have read forums and I'm almost at the point of paying MS for technical support services, but it's really just my last step before I shell out money for professional help. Notice to lovers? =)

    Hello

Well, at this point, you should make an executive decision.

If you think that someone will take just guilt because it's comfortable, it is not going to happen.

If a new card that is known to work does not work, then you can try to re - install Windows.

One of the differences between computer enthusiasts and regular users is the availability of the material. I have a set of wireless router, network cards, etc. that are known to be good.

The components are used for the sole purpose of trying them temporarily on the troubled computers to rule out hardware problems.

  • Wireless USB adapter does not

Was in the middle of the viewing of a site when it went offline.  Reset router has not been set.  Software can not see the router and adapter shows no light.

Is it possible to test this adapter?

What is the model number for the adapter?

You should try to uninstall and reinstall the adapter to do so follow the below mentioned steps.

Remove the Linksys adapter and uninstall the Linksys software menu programs... Re - install drivers insert the CD of Linksys install in your CD-ROM drive, when the welcome is displayed click on exit, connect your USB adapter now... When the Hardware Update Wizard window appears, click on install the software automatically (recommended) and then click Next... Click Finish when the installation is complete.

NOTE: The hardware installation screen may appear indicating that the adapter has failed the Windows Logo test. Ignore the window and click on continue to continue the installation because the adapter has been tested and it works with Windows XP. When Windows has finished installing the driver, click Finish.

Click Start and go to control panel and double-click on network connections. Right click on wireless network connection, and then select view available wireless networks "-If you see your network wireless in the list, the highlight by clicking 'single' on it now, click on the 'Connect' button below-if your wireless network is secured, it asks you to provide the network key - provide the wireless network key and confirm again in the confirmation box and click 'Connect'." It should work...

    Hey Kramer,

Are you sure that you have installed the right driver WLAN? As far as I know that Toshiba laptops are delivered with various wireless network cards. The Toshiba page also shows Atheros WLAN drivers then perhaps you have an Atheros card?

In addition I would try reinstalling Windows using Toshiba recovery disc. There are all the drivers and tools pre-installed.
