  Bruce - thanks. I'm not sure you've seen this, but I looked on the "Update" menu on my laptop and updated the application manager. Who did the trick. I opened the Camera Raw 9.1 download successfully and it was installing on my hard drive, but without the CS 6 update, it was not to find the right place to go. This issue is now resolved, and updated the latest watch information box.

  When you try to install Camera Raw 6.7 version final candidate so I can open my 5 d Mark III raw files, I get the message that this download is not applicable.  I installed the latest version of the Adobe Application Manager first.  I use the latest version of MAC OS and using Photoshop 5.  Can someone tell me how to solve this problem?

  The D800 is listed in cameras supported by LR4 and ACR 6.7 RC:

  It is actually both a Lightroom and Photoshop Elements problem. The version of Lightroom you are using search Camera Raw 9 to make sure that the image is properly translated when it transfers from Lightroom to Photoshop Elements. Lightroom can see that you have only the version of camera raw. Lightroom notifies you as well as the transition between Lightroom and elements might not transfer all adjustments using Lightroom. So, it should give a free choice either way you or edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments. The second option is the one you should choose. Then Lightroom will create a TIF or PSD file (depending on your external editing options) and send this file to the elements. The only way you can completely solve this problem is to have a version of Photoshop Elements, which is fairly new to use the same version of camera raw that Lightroom is looking for. If you don't want to upgrade your version of elements, then you should choose the option to edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments.

  Camera Raw is used when you transfer the file from Lightroom to elements to translate the raw settings and create an image that can be edited in the elements. By itself without camera raw, Photoshop Elements cannot change raw images. The image must be converted before its opening in Photoshop Elements.

  You can install up to 9.1.1, which is quite common. Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter: for Windows

  7 is quite old.

• the Camera Raw file - parsing error

  I posted the following in Photoshop Windows forum with little success.  The problem is in fact limited to cab, so I'll try again.  Thank you.  GG

  This error started to appear frequently when after working on the (3-4 years) old jpeg files.  No problem with opening files, but by clicking "Done" doesn't appear the error message (and, of course, the changes are not saved.)  Some files in a folder are very good; others receive this error.  I see no obvious difference between the files. I tried to make a copy of the file and work on it.  Sometimes it works, but more often than not.  There is NO problem with opening the files, only to save the changes.  (There is also no problem editing in Photoshop and save as .psd files).

  Is there a way to solve this problem when it occurs?  I would like ideas.  (With the help of Photoshop CS5 and Windows 7).

  ACR wants to write ACR adjustments in the JPG header with the EXIF information, and it seems that ACR does not understand JPG header information enough to know where it is safe to write the ACR settings.

  If you turn off ACR edition of jpg files in the Photoshop / preferences then open and save each JPG to the highest quality (12) again.  Maybe Photoshop does not include enough, either, but it's worth a try.  Otherwise, use another program to read and write the JPGs.  You can use the Image Processor option in Bridge to batch jpg files.

  I hope that rewritten jpg files will be understandable by the cab when it needs to insert its parameters.

  It might be useful to backup all JPG files before starting the rewriting process in case something goes haywire.

  You can extend what things are incorporated into the JPG head using ExifTool.  Drag-and-drop a good and a bad JPG to the exiftool (k) .exe and compare the two screenfulls of info that appear in a DOS window.

  I clicked the update button and immediately got an error.
