  I was able to get a silent installation for the DPS tools work very well for CS6 (v27), but I did find a method effective for CS5.5 (v27), set apart from the use of JAMF to perform monitoring of file system.

  They always communicate that they are running properly, but do not actually seem to install anything. If I remove the silent flag, the Setup program runs successfully, but with the intervention of the user, which is not desirable.   The correct syntax for silent deployment is:

  sudo. / Install - mode = silent - DeploymentFiles = "path".

  (here, the assumption is that the user is in the directory where is Install.app.

• Cannot find HIS Color Finesse 3 serial key

  In Adobe CC, there is a plugin called HIS Color Finesse 3 delivered AE. I had problems to open the plugin, so I decided to delete all the related files and to download the installer from the site of synthesis. I'm running the installation program now and cannot find my serial number for the plugin. I have been troubleshooting the web and found a lot of discussions related to this problem, but does not understand where this serial key again.   I remember in earlier versions of AE, after installation is complete I never needed to use this plugin, a serial number. Since I am reinstalling this plugin, I wonder if I really need the serial key (to access the full version) and I need, where to find?

  It was not a sticker with the serial number printed for Color Finesse since CS5.5. The serialization is done 'automatically' the first time you apply Color Finesse to a layer.

  This first time you will be asked a name/organization and you need to enter something here and click OK to create the serialization occurs. If you click Cancel instead you end up in trial with the pink lines mode. Which is OK, like all what you need to do in this case is to restart AE and apply Color Finesse to a layer to get prompted for name/org.

  Once you have done that you are running with Color Finesse, no lines of pink demo. At this point, you can click the Color Finesse on and see your serial number in the upper right of the About dialog box. You want the serial number if you want to update or use an installer from our website.

  Now in your case, if you have already uninstalled Color Finesse and run a Setup program that is downloaded without ever having raced through the 'automagic' serialization process, you end up with no serial number and no plugin who knows how to serialize itself. The best way to the situation is in the United Nations-installl Color Finesse manually, then un-install/reinstall AE. You can then apply it to a layer, enter your name/org and you will be running.

  And just to be clear, Color Finesse 3 provided with AE is a fully functional/all the plugin features. The only restriction is that it works only in After Effects. If you also want to use Color Finesse in Premiere Pro, you will have to pay to upgrade to the version "PI".

  You have no need to download an installer. Color Finesse is installed automatically by the installation program Adobe AE. It is automatically serialized (CS5.5 and later, including CC 2014) the first time you apply Color Finesse to a layer.

  At this point, the best approach is to uninstall and reinstall After Effects. Then, open a project, apply Color Finesse to a layer, enter your name and you will be running.

• Adobe Color Finesse vs FCP color - mask location capability

  I just came back from the expo of HD in New York and one of the speakers/presenters there is a colorist.  He showed an advertisement it was colored using Application color of the PCF.  I came home to discover Adobe Color Finesse for comparison and noticed that he didn't some of the characteristics of the color of the PCF, the ability to create a mask for the purposes of secondary color correction work and be able to follow this mask to the object being corrected.  Is there a way to do in color or outside Finesse even Finesse.  If this isn't the case, which would be a Color Correction request you could recommend which is as strong or better than the color of the PCF.

  Yes, you are.

  It is one of the reasons for the secondary color correction of Color Finesse is based on color (chroma) instead of geometric masks. Assuming your footage to select color, then there is no need of follow-up/animation, it is managed by the secondary Manipulator.

  Of course, that won't work in all cases, that is why the desire for geometric shape masks, with some kind of follow-up. We understand this desire.

  But the existing secondary color correction can be quite powerful, so I hope that people gave him a test rather than just assuming that a mask is always required.

• Color Finesse CS5 organization?

  It is only available for AE. If you want a version for AE and PR, you must upgrade to the version PE of Color Finesse. See their Web site.

• Serial number CS5 Color Finesse attention

  Adobe has provided me with the wrong serial number for Color Finesse 3 in CS5.

  I started a case with Technical Support, but after exchanges of emails this weekend, then an hour and a half phone conversation with 2 representatives today, they were unable to help me. In fact, neither representative knew what Color Finesse.

  I contacted synthesis through their website of the forum and they said that I had received a serial number of the PC that does not work on a Mac.

  Today at noon, technology Adobe said they would call back within 2 hours with a solution, its now been 5 hours and no appeal. I'm not impressed.

  In case someone else has this problem the PC serial numbers start with CFLEP and Mac those SLTC. I tried to change the prefix of the letter and it seemed to work, however while he has done through the registration synthesis process, I now have the pink grid feared on the layers that have applied CF, indicating he is not registered... Synthesis says that I have to reinstall After Effects yet. Oh joy ;/

  

  You must also remove the Color Finesse prefs.

  This is the "Finesse 3 UI Preferences.plist ~/Library/Preferences/Color" file. Just drag to the trash, restart AE and apply Color Finesse to a layer and you will be prompted for the serial number.

  I just tested the whole process here with the CS5 DVD and it works fine. Sorry for forgetting this step.

  I was just looking for opinions on what everyone thought about the difference between staining using After Effects plugins instead of using Color Finesse.

  I'm biased as to what should be your choice, but an important thing to keep in mind is the basic difference between a dedicated as Apple Color application of color correction and color correction plug-ins like Color Finesse/Magic Bullet in the workflow.

  Color is designed to work similarly to a traditional band-to-band color correction workflow. In other words, complete you your package, block all along, then go to the color correction. Make additional editing after the color correction is difficult. The advantage is that you get to work in an environment dedicated to the color correction, and the corrector 'knows' about the whole project, facilitating global operations. But the integration between editing app (FCP) and the color Checker (Color) is limited.

  With a plug-in, you have you color correction in your editor/motion graphics app so that revisions are easy to make, without the need of what either lock or flatten change them or effects. Integration between the app (AE/Agency) and the plug-in may be extremely tight. The downside is that the plug-in is applied to individual clips/layers so that the plug-in only 'knows' about this element further complicates global operations.

  We try to split the difference with Color Finesse, giving you an environment dedicated to the color correction, as well as a plug-in. Of course, we also offer our standalone version for Mac users.

  Neither approach is necessarily "better" than the other, they are just different. It depends largely on your own workflow preferences.

  I just bought Adobe Production Premium CS5.5.  On the case containing the installation DVD, there is a serial number for Color Finesse.  After you install the full package, I see no Color Finesse as a program or a plugin in first or After Effects.  The fineness of the color had to be installed with everything else?

• Color Finesse Presets

  Hi guys

  I use AE CS6 (including a part of the Master Collection) on Win7 64 bit. I was going to experiment with Color Finesse presets, but when I click on the preset button after loading of CF, I am taken to my my documents"" folder. I tried to open the CF THE full interface, but which does not include a memory button. I thought it had presets with glimpses of the Gallery to see what effect could apply? I'm doing something wrong?

  You should be able to select the Gallery tab in the full UI, then twirl open the system Presets folder there and see the presets that we provide. If this does not work for you, you need to update to Color Finesse 3.0.8 which should solve this problem.

  You can download the installer Color Finesse of our Web site. Be sure to specify that you want to install the version 'THE' when the installation program asks you, and you want to install in AE CS6. Other than simply accept all the defects of the installer and you should be good. Sorry for the bug.

I used the Master collection serial to activate my product. I have a 64 bit os, so I did not use body/AE CS4 32 Bit serial.  My question is about Color Finesse Serial. I searched this topic and considered as a plug-in for Premiere Pro or after affect. Now, where can I download Color Finesse and how I can install their Premier Pro or after affect?

  This series is only required for the CS4 version. The CS5 version does not require an additional set. Both versions are installed automatically with the main programs. Nothing more to do.

• Panel of reference color Finesse

  Hi, I am currently working with Color Finesse and want to use the Panel refers to try to match film shot with two different cameras.  I've lived the manual to see how to load an image in the Gallery, but I think I'm missing something.

  I can't find an option to load all the images in the Gallery; If you take a look at the attached screenshot it seems to miss all of the buttons included in the manual (although the manual looks like its been taken on a MAC).

  

  Is this a limitation with the Group AE plugin or am I missing something else?

  I think you are looking for the Gallery tab. It has buttons at the bottom of loading/selection of reference images.

  Once an image is loaded into the Gallery, you can select it as the reference image by double-clicking the item in the list of contents of Gallery.

  You don't say what version of Color Finesse you use. There were a few problems with reference images in earlier versions, so you can upgrade to the latest version of Color Finesse, which is 3.0.4. The installer for the latest version is available on our website and can be installed using your current Color Finesse serial number.
