  I have the updated version of Photoshop CS5 on a DVD and a new iMac that lacks a DVD player.  There are four versions of CS5 offered for download on the Adobe site.  I downloaded the 'Standard' version, but not a not launch the installation program.  Two other techniques have failed: (1) I created a disc image of the DVD Installer on a laptop Mac with a DVD drive and the drive for the iMac of network image.  This does not (2) according to Apple, I shared portable DVD player with the iMac computer and tried to install CS5 on the iMac on the network of the laptop DVD player.  That did not work also.  A solution would be appreciated.

  About 22 days ago I made the mistake of buying a refurbished from Dell PE r200. The server does not include a BONE - which was okay with me - and it arrived timely. Since it has not come with a DVD player and I wanted to install Windows Server 2008 64-bit, I ordered a DVD SATA drive at the same time as the server. That has turned into a debacle/fiasco/nightmare and I don't always have a DVD player and I will buy servers for me and my clients to HP in the future.

  Meanwhile the SATA DVD drive happen at Dell, I tried two drives DVD USB external different to install the OS and, although both drives start on DVD ok Dell systems Mgmt, when comes the time to insert the support of Windows 2008, I get an error "invalid Microsoft Windows Server 2008 media was not found. Insert the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 installation media into the DVD - ROM device'.

  I don't understand why the media are not be seen, but this turns into a trend and I'm looking for another way to install.

  I saw the mention of a way to install using a DRAC card (which I have) and I wonder if this is applicable in my case. If so, can someone let me know the steps or direct me to them.

  It seems that the BIOS does not support booting from the USB flash drive.
  Boot from LAN is possible, but if you want to boot from LAN then you need a RIS server.

  But to be honest, I would recommend another method.

  If you want to install Win XP on the HARD drive, then you must copy the folder i386 CD Win XP on HARD drive (you can remove the laptop HARD drive and could connect to the other computer by using the USB controller).
  Then you should go to the i386 folder that you copied on the HARD drive and run the setup.exe or winnt.exe
  The two exe file should launch the installation configuration.

  It is not just that you think it is. As much as I know, you can't manipulate the data of recovery and work on your own boot media.

  A better and easier way for you is to get somewhere external USB ODD and use for installation of recovery image. I NB520 and I bought external BD ODD and can use it for various actions such as the installation of the software for example.

  I m wondering really you didn't create recovery USB drive. That was my first step after I bought this machine. Product key you have on the Microsoft sticker doesn't help. You can't use it for OS installation if you are using the version of the OS clean and you don t need it if you use original recovery image.
