• Installation of Hyperion 11.1.2.3 - client 32-bit Oracle problems

  I'm trying to install the Hyperion 11.1.2.3 below environment, seems I get a very strange error.
  
  Windows XP Mode environment:
  
  Details of the laptop:
  
  OS - Windows XP 32-bit (in virtual - using windows XP Mode)
  RAM - 8 GB
  DB: Oracle 11g EE
  Hyperion products - Shared Services, EPMA, planning and RA 11.1.2.3
  
  Successfully, I have installed and configured the 11.1.2.3 Hyperion. After restarting the machine, none of the Hyperion and DB products do not work. I started the problems in case of problem and found below.
  
  In Hyperion 11.1.2.3, by default, customer database ORACLE - 32 or 64 bit is installed as well as Services of the Foundation. I guess, it creates the problem, because in the slot location, it creates a listener and Tnsname files. You can see the new menu called Oracle - Oraclient3211g - OS user name and customer files.
  
  Note: If I try to uninstall client Oracle 32-bit systems, it displays the warning message * ' customer Oracle 32-bit is required for EPMA - Server Dimension service, uninstall the product will break the EPM features ' *_

  I checked the two newspapers (DB and Hyperion logs)
  
  One of the Hyperion newspapers:
  
  ORA-12505, TNS:listener is not currently of SID given in connect descriptor
  
  DB logs:

  ORA-27101 - not shared memory realm leaves
  
  The TNSPING error - TNS-03505 - utility could not resolve the name
  
  
  I did reference two files tnsnames, seems some names are different.

  Installation on an operating system would be a good start because XP is not supported.
  Are you sure this is the installation of the customer who caused the problem as it should be ok, has been the database certainly work after a reboot before the installation of the software of the EMP.
  If you delete the Oracle client (also remove the window - TNS_ADMIN environment variable) then restart and check the database works ok.

• Installation of Hyperion Planning in a distributed Architecture

  I'm new in the world of Hyperion...
  
  I try to install Hyperion Palnning 11.1.1.1.0 in a distributed environment... and in the face of difficulty deciding where each component has to go...
  
  Here is a description of the architecture in which I want to get Hyperion operational Planning:
  
  A Windows Server box - EPMA must be installed on windows that I read in the available installation guides...
  Two boxes of AIX - decided to put and Essbase on one database and planning on the other.
  
  I'm using the Oracle 11 g as the daatbase. And Oracle application server for the deployment.
  
  According to my understanding... I need the following components must be installed for planning...
  
  Shared services
  Essbase - client, server, administrative services, service providers (for Smart office)
  Planning
  EPMA
  Workspace
  
  Can someone plaese advice on how I should go about the installation of the components?

  Essbase does not have an application server, EAS made but which could be placed on the same server as the planning, it's your choice.

  During installation it asks the name of the server.
  
  I'd give the host name or the full name of the server (hostname.domain)
  
  ex server1.google.com or just server1.
  
  What is recommended a?

  Yes it is good to use the fully qualified name, you just need to be aware that if the domain has changed its name at any time all will have to be reconfigured.

• Installation of Hyperion 11.1.2.4 for all foundation and weblogic admin server on Linux and HFM on the window

  We have planned the implementation of several node, where a server under Linux OS has foundation, OSH and weblogic domain.  Server B on window has HFM.  We know now that we can have single domain web-logic since HFM has no binary for Linux (and we must at least HFM web - app to install if we want common weblogic domain).  In this case, what is the common practice.  Should we local domain web-logic on the server HFM window?  Is there a better way?

  My understanding is that you need one,

  #Separate Weblogic domain for the components installed on the Linux box (Foundation)

  #Separate Weblogic domain for the HFM components installed on the Windows machine

  Such as Weblogic in Linux can't talk to the components installed on the Windows machine.

• Problem with Hyperion merger Edition Installation

  Nice day!
  
  I need assistance with the Installation of Hyperion.
  
  Whenever I try to install Hyperion merger edition in my PC, most of the components failed to install. Essbase, Foundation and planning are the only components that are installed successfully. Strange, I could install and run the same product on the same pc before. The PC has not formatted or anything. I just uninstalled the product, deleted the folder Hyperion uninstall WebLogic 9 and when I installed it again (fusion edition Hyperion), other components could not be installed.
  
  I could install Hyperion merger Edition on my VMware Server, but I need to install it on my physical computer. It runs slower on VMware.

  Hyperion is weird. the solution to your problem is to install and configure each product separately.

• 11.1.2.4 Hyperion integration with OBIEE 11.1.1.9.0

  We do the POC on integrating OBIEE 11.1.1.9.0 Hyperion 11.2.4 space via SSO.

  The documentation says:

  They should use storage of common identity for the standards body to work. I installed OBIEE home separate middleware and Hyperion Planning in separate middleware, identity storage is different for the two products.

  The integration will work? anyone tried this?

  If not, in the case if we want that it is on the same identity (embedded weblogic ldap) store should install us hyperion and obiee on same middleware House? Is supported the installation of Hyperion and OBIEE on same middleware House?

  I advanced and tried integration and recorded the obiee with hyperion workspace, Navigate-> administer->

  I see OBIEE links but they are not functional and the links read like

  You will need to use a common external directory and configuration that is supported by OBIEE and EMP for example MSAD

  Take a look at the support matrix to see which directories are supported.

  I have Hyperion installed on Windows 2008 64-bit with IIS 7 with compatibility with management 6. I also installed as part of Hyperion HFM. I want to install Hyperion FDM, but he just somehow disabled in the installer of Hyperion. When I click it, it says EPMINS-01016: impossible to install the selected component. This is the second time that I install Hyperion on the same machine. I was able to install FDM earlier with HFM, so I don't know what I'm doing. Any ideas?

  It is possible that in your installer or your location to extract software binary FDM are misssing.

  It should be FDMEE to 11.1.2.4 since FDM is no longer supported.

  I just applied a Maintenance release"for Hyperion 11.1.2.3 on an existing installation of Hyperion 11.1.2.1.

  Now I am trying to install the patch 17529887 (11.1.2.3.500), but the utility fails with the error code 39: "this fix requires some components to install in the home. Home of the oracle doesn't have this components or not suitable for this patch. When I run the command for succesfully Opatch inventory identifies the Oracle Home and the list of installed products and version.

  I have already added the path to \oracle_common < MIDDLEWARE_HOME > to the system variable, but still not.

  I'd appreciate your help.

• Smart View 11.1.2.3 Hyperion option settings

  I was responsible for getting a configuration of automatic installation for Hyperion for a good part of our billing service. I'm looking for a way to change the options (in Excel) we need within the Hyperion. I checked the registry, the directory program files and appdata folders and I can't for the life of find me where these settings are stored. If anyone of you thin people know where that might be?   Installation of Hyperion usable part of the cloud and partly on organizations data centers? As said that my existing env (approx 1) is having 2 servers (Server1 and Server2) in my own data center, now I want to add another server (server3) in my env (env1) taking place from cloud. Does this mix of cloud and non - cloud based infrastructure works

  If you really want to do this, usually all servers exist in the same datacenter so to reduce the network latency or bandwidth issues, if you add another server to the HSS registry believes communications in data centers, probably ask for trouble.

  Also, to add in the elements of security, but theoretically if every other servers can access through ports required then it could be done, not that I would not recommend it.
