Installation of patches on R12.2.0 Oracle Home (10.1.2)

Hello:

I'm being upgraded from R12.2.0 to R12.2.3 as an accessory I do a request ID Note: Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2: consolidated list of patches and bugfixes of technology (Doc ID 1594274.1), by this Note ID article 3.1 fixes apply to forms and reports for 10.1.2.3 ORACLE_HOME.

According to the instructions of the Note that I downloaded the patches for the version 32-bit and ready to install the patches before installing the patches I have couple of question.

1. should I install the patches using 32 or 64 bit opatch utility?

2. should I install the patches on both "fs1" & 'fs2' file system?

Please answer these questions to continue the upgrade process.

Thanks in advance.

Syed,

Syed,

1. use opatch less 10.1.2.3 $ORACLE_HOME to apply these patches - see MOS Doc below for more details

• FMW: Portal Upgrade Advisor - video part 4 patch the Oracle Home "how to install Oracle Middleware 11 g Rel 1 portal and discoverer" should specify to use previous pfrd Oracle Home

NOTE: from 'build base Middleware of Oracle 11 g Architecture. "
Review of the videos for "How to install Oracle 11g Rel 1 portal Middleware and discoverer?"
Part 4 patch the Oracle home (04:57)
https://support.Oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show & type = ATT & ID = 1118681.1:PD11G_INSTALL_PT4 & inline = 1

The verbal and demo explanation does not use the original location/Oracle HOme of the previously
installed for the binary PFRD base.   It probably should.

In addition, for some steps to follow to patch binaries PFRD, I'd put it:

Step 4.  I am guessing that the patch will establish an another sub dir Disk1 and don't want to overwright
installation of the initial PFRD, therefore, moves the Group of hotfixes as follows.

CD/opt/web/install/PortalUpgradeAdvisor/pfrd
960 ls - ltr
Group of hotfixes mkdir 961
Group patches 962 mv p11060983_111140_LINUX.zip
Group patches 963 cd.
Unzip 964 *.

RE: of course, having unpacked the group created patches another subdirectory Disk1 with his own runInstaller
VNC gui:

I guess, all we are doing is patching of binary files, nothing should be running.
Maybe an environment set in same, as when we ran last the PFRD install, however.  There we / I had
run. / set_mid_clean after making sure the files property was oracle: oracle.

Yes, VNC gui and
/ opt/Web/Install/PortalUpgradeAdvisor/pfrd/Patchset/disk1
. / runInstaller

Here again, we select Install Software - is not configured
RE: Get the message again on this screen "installs the software only. After said is finished, use
config.sh at ORACLE bin directory to configure the working bodies of these components installed.

Specify the installation location.  Always to
Oracle Middleware homepage: / opt/oracle/Middleware
and
An Oracle home directory: as_2 # I bet it must be as_1 because that is where the initial PFRD install binary files has occurred.

NOTE: The summary of the Installation in the video screen escape the Oracle Home is the previous specified during the initial installation. That is to say. PFRD_Binaries.   I guess I should have named that instead of taking the default as_1. At least I would have to have done that.  Well.  Maybe this story might help the next guy.

Also

NOTE: The Installation screen is not "from" group of patches as in the video where it says
Install Oracle Portal, forms, reports, and discover the Group of hotfixes.

Hi Charlie
I'm a little confused by this feedback. Especially when you say that you see the option "install - do not configure. Should this option is visible only when you run the Basic 11.1.1.2 PFRD the software installer. The Group of hotfixes 11.1.1.4 has his own 'runInstaller'... and this will display what you see in the viewlet. You definitely run the installer from the directory of stage in the Group of hotfixes? (I'll do my own validation test - if I find something strange going on... I'll report.)

I now take the following action

1. I will put the Viewlet so it is clear that the Group of hotfixes is staged in a different place from the base 11.1.1.2 media
2. provide that nothing must be running (because at this point, no instance of 11 g of construction has been configured)
3. There's a "slippage" that illustrates the Middleware and Oracle Home entries in the screen "Location of Installation to specify" IE

Middleware homepage: / u01/alca_portal/middleware
Oracle home: PFRD_Binaries

However, you will see that this slide for 2 seconds (which is an error) and if you miss it probably.

Just FYI - the House of Oracle 11 g correction is in general the same procedure as patching a mid-layer House AS10g i.e

-You set the Oracle Home base using the installation of the basic software program
-You patch the Oracle home using the installation program of the Group of hotfixes

• R12.1.1 EBS installation and upgrade to R12.1.3

• Patch 20133080:R12. PO. Compatible with 12.1.3 D

Hi, we encounter the Bug 20133080, which cancels the PR line if the PO line is cancelled.

Our EBS is 12.1.3, but it patch 20133080 : R12. PO. D stated that he belonged to the 12.2.3.

However, while they inspected the patch details (https://updates.oracle.com/Orion/Services/download?type=readme & 18420063 = aru) README file:

For 12.0.X / 12.1.X / patches of pre-upgrade (with adpatch), you must stop all services in the Application tier before performing the tasks in this section.

so this means that it is also compatible with 12.1.3? It's the kind of confusion.

If it's not compatible, is there a patch for 12.1.3?

If it isn't there a patch for 12.1.3, where I apply a patch?

I connected an SR to MOSC asks the same questions, but they did not really give me a definitive answer.

Thank you!

Hi all!

Oracle has managed to create a patch for 12.1.3. (20133080:R12 number of patch. PO. B).

I hope this helps!

• EM. Oracle.Home not set in installation simple soa

Hello

I have a script for silent installation that installs and configures a basic installation of 12 c SOA. I founded some of the scripts on an example of middlewaresnippets.com.

In short, the scripts are;

• Install Oracle DB SE2
• Install Oracle JDK 8u60
• Install the Infrastructure FMW 12.1.3.0.0 (include PS5)
• Install the BPM (including SOA)
• Run the RCU
• Creates areas etc.

When you are finished, the nodemanager, adminserver, and soa server can be started. There are only a few error messages in the AdminServer.out that are bugging me.

[/ code]

Most of the other errors seems to be associated with em, specifically the em.oracle.home. When to check the AdminServer.out at the start of the AdminServer environment variable seems also not to be defined.

The installer is basically;

• read the weblogic (wls.jar) model, set some basic as etc domain name options and write the field.
• read the field and add the model bpm (oracle.bpm_template_12.1.3.jar)
• Set up the domain
• setOption ('AppDir', domain_app_home);
• create a machine
• create a cluster of soa and add the soa server to the cluster

When validating deployments in the WLC the em.ear aims the AdminServer, but is failing. Targets of the MA has an em, the default (webapp) component and the empty.jar.

If necessary I can post scripts

See you soon,.

For the benefit of third parties, the problem has caused a bad addition to the EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES.

A setUserOverrides.sh in the "/ bin" that contains the following statements.
EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES = ""-Djava .net .preferIPv4Stack = true ' "

export EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES

[/ code]

The setUseOverrides.sh is run after the setSOADomainEnv.sh and therefore replaces the settings.

By adding the new EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES it is all ok works again... phew :-)
EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES = "-Djava .net .preferIPv4Stack = true, ${EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES}" "

export EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES

Hi guys,.

I need to update a bunch of ESXi5.5 self-contained bed and breakfast, about 160 remote locations.

The hosts are autonomous, vMotion, etc. are not available options

I'm trying to create a script to perform the following operations

1. Stadium updates ESXi55 of VUM
2. Power off all VM running on each host (I found how to do this by calling a list of virtual machines to a .csv and on each virtual machine using the command Stop-VM)
3. Put the host in Maintenance Mode
4. install the patches / updates
5. Reboot the host after installation of patches/updates
6. Powering the same VM who were earlier closure (again, found this by using the Start-VM command in step 2 above)
7. Run a report on the Patching for audits of compliance (following a discussion by LucD for this)

Someone has already tried this PowerCLI or should I stick with the GUI?

• patching in R12

Hello

I need to apply a patch. The patch says that it is compatible with (R12. BY. B, R12.HR_PF. B, 12.1.0, 12.1.1).
I'm on 12.1.1. and my current patch_level is R12. BY. B.1

I'm looking for on what (PF) I'm on. In 11i we is to use decode function by corresponding patch number.

Concerning
Taher

Hello

These are the patches you need to ask:

Patch 7446767 - R12.HR_PF. B.Delta.1
Patch 8337373 - R12.HR_PF. B.Delta.2

Or, run patchsets.sh as suggested before.

Kind regards
