Installation of the EBS R12 - domain name?

Hi Experts,

I try to install EBS R12 on Win 2003 server. I did all the steps of pre-installation and I have a problem to validate the pre-installation check screen. the error is in hosts/domains.
I install on my laptop, so I don't have any area to add my computer. So what field I have to give the wizard... Please help me...

Thank you
DK

Hello

You don't have to join a domain. You must configure the primary DNS suffix as follows:

-Right click on desktop > properties >
-Click on the "Computer name" tab > click on 'Edit' > click on "More".
-Enter the domain name under 'DNS suffix' main of this computer

For example, if you want to use "xyz.com" as a domain name, enter "xyz.com" under "This computer's primary DNS suffix".

-Click OK, restart the computer
-From the command prompt, make sure that you can do the following:

C:\ > ping hostname
C:\ > ping nomhote.nomdomaine

Yes it is possible, but you will have an application owner user and database level node files.

If you want user applmgr upgraded node files of own apps and user oracle owning the db level node files then install quick there must be run in as root.

If you want a user (applmgr and oracle) to have the apps and db level nodes files can install quick there must be running as that user.

    Hello

I would like to know if I can create another user on the ebs r12 database.

    That's another application (not ebs).

    What are the risks?

Is there an id doc on this subject?

    Thank you.

It may not be available for that Oracle doc. But as a principle, why the unrelated database schema is created in the EBS database. This will add more load on the database of EBS, administrative effort. Let's say that your EBS database is down for maintenance, while the other application accessing this scheme does not require maintenance always, it will be down.

  • Installation of the EBS on the virtual computer node

    Hi Experts,

That's a dumb newbie question: really grateful if someone could enlighten me here. Thanks in advance!

I want to convert instance EBS R12 Vision CARS for this machine at least 2 or node are required. But I have only one machine that have 48GB of RAM and 2 TB HARD drive.
recently, I installed EBS12.1 Vision and improved its database of 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.3(on RHEL 6 2.6.32-71.el6.x86_64)
on this machine.  Since I only this machine so the only option for me to configure a virtual machine on it in order to have the required minimum 2 node
for the installation of clustware RAC 11 GR 2

But the problem is that VMware Server 2 seems to be incompatible with the RHEL6 (as a host). I tried to install it and ran into the error.
The rpm install very well, but it got stuck when running usr/bin/vmware-config.pl. The script does not find any module before generation which are suitable for the nucleus,
so I tried to compile a custom but exit with error. ... After much go0gling and on the VMware community forums
I found that VMware Server is no longer supported by VMware and doesn't work on 64bits RHEL6.

my query is so what are other free tools similar to VMware Server I could use to make another virtual machine for CARS or for the installation of IDM Database 11 g?

What are the differences between VMware Workstation and VMware Server?

is Vmware workstation can be used to install EBS after installation on RHEL 6?

Any suggestions on this subject would be most welcome!

  • install the EBS R12 (12.1.1) with Oracle 10 g on different nodes

    Hello

What would be the steps for installation of the R12, EBS (12.1.2) of oracle database 10 g on different nodes?
by default, 12.1.1 comes from oracle database 11g.

    There are basically 2 problems:
    1 instalation for R12 with oracle 10 g
    2 instalation on different nodes

as I read through the forums, for installation on different nodes, you must first install R12 on the database node, then take the config_SID.txt file to the applications node, and then install r12 with this config file. but there are two other issues:
    1. I do full instalation R12 on the database node, and then install complete on the node applications with the config file?
    2. the instalation is done always with database 11 g... but we want database 10 g.

    Hello

He said in the newspaper as R12 is it can be downloaded and installed... no matter if it comes with 10 g or 11 g.

    I agree.

After instalation complete (R12 apps + db) on the node database and complete instalation on the applications node (with the pointing to the created database configuration file)... do have to remove the APPL_TOP, COMM_TOP... of the database layer and leave only the RDBMS House? or what are the exact steps...

You don't have to remove all files, in fact, when you install the database on the database layer node fast install will not lay any of enforcement on this node (provided that you choose do not have enforcement on this node when you answer the question in fast Windows Installer). So, you should eventually have the database files and the ORACLE_HOME database on the DB layer node, then quick installation will allow to install the application files on the nodes of level APPS and application services.

    Thank you

    Alan

    Hi Alan,

You must run AutoConfig on the database layer, and then on the application layer, even if you have a single node installation.

    The steps are:

Run AutoConfig on the database layer:

    -Login as user oracle
    -Source file of database env
    -Issue "" cd $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/scripts /".
-Run the automatic configuration script (adautocfg.sh)

Run AutoConfig on the application tier:

    -Login as user applmgr
    -Source file env
    -Issue "cd $INST_TOP/admin/scripts.
-Run the automatic configuration script (adautocfg.sh)

Note: 387859.1 - AutoConfig helps manage system Configurations in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12

Since vmware is not have ebs or in this case installed oracle software.

You must copy all applications and files nodes of level database from the source to the target servers-this is already explained/mentioned in the documents mentioned above.

  • The EBS R12 upgrade and solaris to linux in a one-way migration?

Hi all, first post on this forum so bear with me.

I plan on spending 11.5.10.2 Solaris (sparc) 64-bit EBS EBS R12 on RHEL 5 x 86-64 a and would like to know if I can make in a shot that is the migration and upgrade in one step or I need to go to R12 first and then migrate first and then upgrade or migrate.

I understand the stages of migration and upgrade, but have not seen any documentation to support on the combination of them, someone does that?

    Thanks in advance
    Jeremy

    Hello

You can upgrade the application in the Solaris to R12 box then migrate the R12 to Linux application (since your target OS is 64-bit Linux, please note that you can not migrate the 11i application as 64-bit operating system is accredited as a layer of database for the Oracle 11i applications only).

To install R12 11i, please see:
